A heartfelt, intense, exciting, and thrilling story. I enjoyed every moment of this book. Chelsea Camaron never disappoints.
Paid in Full was a great story. At the very beginning, you can tell that Deacon and Tempest have had some type of ongoing relationship, but it’s not a very involved one. I almost felt like I started in the middle of the story. It didn’t last long. As the story progresses, and you get more of the backstory, that feeling went away, and I had a sort of “Aha” moment. Even coming into the story without reading the others in the series, this author does a great job keeping the reader up on what is going on, and this story works out fine as a stand alone. But the rest of the series is so amazing, and there are just enough hints to make you want to go back to the beginning and start with the first book!
As rough of a characer as Deacon is, it just makes the way he acts toward Tempest even more beautiful! He is definitely rough around the edges, and has some major issues, but it doesn’t take him long to figure out what he wants and does everything in his power to get it. He takes what comes at him as just something else to figure out and get through. He is a stand up guy and exactly what Tempest needs!
Tempest, on the other hand, is strong and stubborn, and puts everyone else before herself. She gives and gives, until there is no room to think about what she needs. She has had things thrown at her in her life that would break a lesser woman, but she turns it around into something positive and amazing.
Together, they make a couple that can get through anything, and are perfect for each other. Secrets and danger, both past and present, keep the story moving along at a steady pace, and make for a facinating read.
The author also includes words of wisdom at the beginning of each chapter, and at the end of the book that really made me stop and think, things that I’m gonna share with my daughter!

Paid in Full was the fifth book in the Devil’s Due MC. True to the series, it was dark themed with potential triggers for some, but the light was bright at the end of the tunnel.
The Devil’s Due MC was created by a small group of men with troubled pasts that are looking to right wrongs that haven’t been resolved through normal legal channels. They are nomads staying no one place for long but roam where the next lead takes them.
Gentry “Deacon” Hawkins’ situation was different in that his “devil’s due” wasn’t from a wrong created by an individual but it was learning to live through the nightmares from the horrors of war when he was the only survivor. However, the “devil’s due” philosophy carried over to his relationship with Tempest Adams for her “devil’s due” circumstance.
We met Tempest previously as the protector and safe haven for abused woman and children who were running from their abuser. We learn in Paid in Full the motivation behind Tempest’s actions and passion.
I enjoyed the storyline and the suspenseful nature that revealed a few twists, while simultaneously watching the relationship deepen between Deacon and Tempest. I was, however, surprised at the abruptness one of the plots ended. It was a confusing scene for me and I would have liked a sightly different scenario; however, I can also see how it couldn’t have plausibly concluded any differently, but I was craving just a bit more understanding. For this reason only, I was waffling between 3 and 4 stars, settling on 3.5; which rounds up to a 4 on this rating site. No spoilers here, so you’ll have to read it to get your own opinion.
In the end it was another successful Devil’s Due story. We finally get Trapper’s story next in Bottom Line. However, Day Of Reckoning, book four, is on tap next for me. I accidentally skipped it, but thankfully there were no spoilers in Paid in Full and it wasn’t necessary to read it in order to get the full enjoyment of the series.
