i love all of Kasie’s books they just bring me so much joy!!!
I LOVED this book. It has been probably 10 years since I’ve read such a sweet, innocent, heartfelt YA story. I really enjoyed all of the characters, which is not common for me. I usually dislike the female protagonist, but Lily was more of an honest, realistic characterization that I appreciated.
This had just enough angst without being too much, although the “mean girl” or the story got a bit tiresome to me, but it wasn’t overdone. I LOVED the slow build up of the story, of when Lily and her pen pal will meet and how they will react. Once I learned of the pen pal situation, I reread through the book with the knowledge of who Lily was writing to see things from the other’s perception.
There was absolutely no profanity, nothing worse than innocent kissing, and this book was tame enough I would suggest it for 12 year olds.
it was a real page turner
SO Much Fun! I really enjoyed this YA novel. I love authors that can write good banter and this was the best. I wish I could give it more stars:} Really this is going up there with one of my favorite reads this year. I have a lot of friends who have been recommending her to me and I finally gave in. I had almost given up on the whole YA teen books, but West has brought me back. Can’t wait to read more for her. The characters were very deep and well rounded. I just loved the main characters! And wow! We even see normal family life! In a YA book that is almost unheard of. These books I would give to any teen to read. No swearing, sex or substance abuse in this one.
This book was truly my favorite book out of all the books I’ve. Read bc it’s so unpredictable
4.5/5 Stars

This story was simply adorable! I really gravitated toward the musical aspect of the story. I love how the two lead characters connected through song lyrics which then opened them up to explore more of each other’s personalities and lives. The fact that it was anonymous throughout most of the story really brought out the suspense and the need to keep reading.
The characters in this book were fantastic! I adored Lily and her amazingly normal and dysfunctional family that reminded me so much of my own- both growing up as a child and my own family now that I have children of my own. I really felt a connection to her character and I loved the close family representation. I actually laughed out loud during the Halloween scene because I could totally see that same situation play out in my own family. It really brought a lasting smile to my face. Lily’s close family balances out Cade’s family issues. It’s so easy to feel for him once you find out about his family life. I loved the side characters as well. The aspect of friendship was really important in this book.
The romance is so sweet. Like, too adorable for words. I love how the romance played out anonymously with the exchanging of notes and letters in Chemistry class. The characters get to know each other without filters. Without having to fear spilling any secrets to anyone in particular. It is safe and it lets their true personalities shine through. They fall in love through these letters and then they both found out who the other writer is without the other one knowing. They both think that the other person hates them and will stop writing if they found out the truth so they keep up the letters while fighting their inner feelings. But they have to deal with their feelings in the end, but Lily has to decide how to go about it. Stop writing cold turkey and forget or confront the boy she is so crazy for.
While I enjoyed the plot of this book, I knew what was going to happen from the very beginning. I wasn’t surprised by anything. I knew who the boy was from the start and so the mystery wasn’t really that mysterious for me. Watching Lily trying to figure it out was suspenseful, but I wish that it has been for me as well. Apart from the utterly severe predictability in the story, I have no complaints.
Overall, this was such a fun and entertaining read. There are parts that will melt your heart and parts that will make you laugh. If you are a YA contemporary fan then this should be on your shelf!
I Love it so good
I absolutely loved this teen version of the movies You’ve Got Mail and The Shop Around the Corner. No surprising twists because of the plot similarities, but didn’t make the story any less enjoyable and fun. Lily and Cade are so stinkin’ cute. My fave Kasie West book to date!
I absolutely loved this book the first time AND the second time! Definitely worth the reread!
I loved this book and read it in a day!
I loved Lily she was so relatable and funny, sometimes when she’d do stuff I was like oh yeah that’s me. I loved her character so much, I liked how she loved her music and I feel like she finally gained the confidence she needed throughout this book to continue with her music. She was just an amazing character.
Cade I loved him, it really was interesting to see how they were together in the letters compared to at the start in public. It kind of reminded me of a childhood crush like pulling their pigtails kind of thing. I loved the change in his personality that in these letters we got to see.
I really loved the letters they were so cute. I just loved it so much, the honesty that both of them poured into these letters were amazing. I loved them.
I really enjoyed seeing Lily’s family life, I could totally relate to Lily with a crazy family life like I’m there. I know what it feels like. It’s nice that in this YA story that family isn’t absent and it’s there. I really enjoy seeing how their families act and seeing them interact with each other.
I do have to say. I cried reading this. Like I think the part I read wasn’t even sad, I was just crying because it was so good. I really did enjoy this book so much I don’t think I really have any criticisms it just was an amazing cute fluffy book that I loved.
Katie West is such a refreshing read after the last YA romance that I read.
This story is about a quirky girl who comes from a busy family (honestly I thought the author made it sound like having only four kids turns your house into a circus) and who loves music. She also likes to write music lyrics, although she hasn’t finished a song yet. She starts writing letters to a secret pen pal with letter under her desk in chemistry. She starts to fall in love but doesn’t know who it is.
This book is predictable and it makes you a little frustrated you figure things out WAY before she does. However, it’s excusable because she is so witty and funny. It has teenage drama without being over the top and is a happy ever after. It’s also clean. I don’t remember there being any language and NO SEX or even sex conversations or remarks.
I love this book so much! It’s my favorite book! I used to not like romance, but after reading this book, I wanted more!
It was a heartfelt book about finding love in places you least expect. An absolutely wonderful book!
P.S. I Like You is such a delightful YA romance. I really enjoyed the many adorable friends and family members whose relationships we get to see as well. They helped round out the story and make it feel more realistic.
Shannon McManus is an excellent audiobook narrator. She has narrated several of Kasie West’s novels and she always does an amazing job. I listened to this audiobook in one day and immediately moved on to another Kasie West audiobook.
I absolutely LOVED this book!!! I always find myself wanting to read it again and again. I would recommend this to everyone!
This book was SO cute! I’ve never read this author before, so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but this story was adorably cute and I had trouble putting it down.
Music has always been a huge part of my life, so I connected instantly with Lilly who feels music is her escape and the one thing that’s hers in a chaotic family. The idea of finding your soulmate through lyrics and secret notes is so romantic and it brought me back to my teen years.
I had a feeling about who the guy was from the beginning, but I love the way everything unfolded and how they each found out about each other. I like how they both had some misconceptions about each other that they found weren’t entirely true after everything came out in the open. And above all, I love that he ended up pushing her to pursue her dreams and supported her so fully!
Fans of Jenny Han, Sarah Dessen, Jennifer Echols and the like are sure to enjoy this story.
Love. This is a book that leaves me missing the characters and story. The writing was fantastic. Story was fantastic. Worth the read.
The characters were well written and I enjoyed the dynamic between the family members. Perfect to read at the beach or on vacation.
I had wanted to read this book for a while, and though I could sense the predictability, there were many moments and situations that took me by surprise. The characters are completely loveable, and I laughed out loud all throughout the book. Completely amazing, totally recommend.
