He is my everything. He gives me everything I need. I can feel him everywhere. Even when he’s away fighting fires. It destroys me a little bit every day when I watch him walk out the door. Because I know that he is going out to stare straight into the gates of hell.
But, as long as he comes back to me, I can survive the anxiety. I look forward to his return for more than just confirmation of his … confirmation of his safety. It’s especially at those times that we give each other what we each crave. Pain. Lustful, deviant, fulfilling pain. My masochistic submissive side screams out for his sadistic domination.
However, there is another voice in me, screaming for attention. I suppress that voice, though. It has no place in our perfect dynamic. Because we are just that. Perfect. As long as I have him, I have everything. He is the very air I breathe…my oxygen.

I have wanted to start this series for quiet some time now. It’s my first Cole Denton book and I did very much enjoy it. This is a short and really hot read. It’s about the married couple Elise and Jacob and there sexual desire and there deep bonding. I love reading how deep there love runs so they are not afraid to experiment. It ends with a cliffhanger and thank goodness is book two already available. Going to bing read the series now.
Oxygen is a short story that centres on Elise and Jacob. They are a married couple who enjoy a BDSM lifestyle. They are members of Club Oxygen, a club where likeminded people can go and play out their fantasies and sexual kinks. As a firefighter Jacob has a dangerous career and Elise is often waiting for him to come home safely. He has always returned to her…
Cole Denton writes these characters that come to life as you read. You feel drawn to them and really care about what happens to them.
As always Cole Denton leaves me wanting more of this story with a jaw dropping cliffhanger. Luckily Plaything which is out in April carries on where Oxygen ends.
What a great introduction. Cole Denton sets the stage up for revenge. Intriguing!!
How can you breathe without that which you consider to be your oxygen?
Oxygen is the first book in The Club Oxygen Series and while it may be a short read, it’s quick to have you feeling so many emotions. It’s happy, hot, funny and heartbreaking. I absolutely loved Oxygen and can’t wait to read the next part of this amazing series!
This author knows how to pull it out of the dark and put it on the page. His words keep you glued to the pages with each turn and sets the prescience of whats to come. Oxygen is an intro into whats to come and it was full of emotion, grabbed my heartstrings from the beginning and I couldn’t wait to see what happened next.
Sexy tease!
Oh boy! I just found my new series to binge read! Jacob, Elise, & Club Oxygen grabbed me right from the first pages and I’m totally hooked. I can’t wait to read more of their story and meet the other characters in this series!
Oh my word i couldn not put this book down, it is one Hot read. It keeps you in suspense and wanting more. You feel as if you are there with Elise and relieving her fantasies. After being left with a cliffhanger that leaves you on the edge, I need plaything like now. I Highly recommend this book, another outstanding short story by this Author
Great story line with strong characters. Couldn’t put it down and went right into book 2,3,4.
Waiting patiently for book 5 Sadist.
Love Cole Denton and his stories.
This book was short but a great read. A really good start to the series.
Wow! I don’t think I’ve ever had so many feels in such a short amount of time.
Welcome to Oxygen. Please check your emotions at the cover page, then sit back, flip the page, and enjoy the ride!
What an introduction into the world of Jacob and Elise. This is a very short read but Mr. Denton gives you what you need and leaves you wanting more. I can’t wait to dive into Plaything!
I can’t begin to say how this one line just grabbed my heart. The life of a firefighter is an unpredictable scary ride. Firemen run towards the fire while others run away from the fire. Jacob is one of those firefighters that run toward the fire. He also helps out other firefighters become the best they can be. His marriage with Elise is even more inspiring. The love and connection these two people have for one another is a fire that can never be extinguished. Trust me, you’ll want to see for yourself their love…
“Holy heart failure, Batman!” What a spectacular introduction to Cole Denton! This novella captured my curiosity from page 1 until there was no more to read. When I reached the last page I was relieved I had book 2, “Plaything” loaded and ready to go!
Jacob and Elise are truly in love with one another. Each understands what the other desires. The type of couple who would give each other their last breath. Provocative. Erotic. I adored this couple and their story.
If you haven’t read a Cole Denton book, you’re doing it wrong…This book is a short read, but being the wordsmith he is, he’s managed to pack a powerful punch into this book. It’s an eye-opening look into the life of a firefighters’ marriage and dedication to the job, as well as the enticing love they share behind closed doors. This series is about to be another adventure into the mind of an amazing author, and I can’t wait to see where he takes this.
“What do you say, Elise? Would you like to give it a try tonight? There’s no harm in wanting to try. I will be right here.”
“You’ll be right here?”
“I will always be right here with you, Elise.”
This short story gives you great insight into the deep love and commitment that Elise and Jacob have with each other. They have a symbiotic D/s relationship, with each of them giving what the other needs, while receiving what they themselves need. You can feel the love between them pouring off the pages.
Elise has another side of her that is bursting to come out and she hopes to explore this desire with her husband and master, Jacob. Will she get the chance?
This is a quick read, but I would say necessary if you move on to book 2 – Plaything. You will have a much better understanding of Elise and her journey if you read this first.
Short, bold, great introduction to the characters and series! And just enough hotness to leave you panting for more!
I am completely lost for words. I honestly don’t know how I feel. The writing and flow of this book is done well.
A tasty appetiser for a new series into the world of Club Oxygen, this will whet your appetite and leave you craving more! A short story that packs a punch with emotive writing, as we have come to expect from this writer, connects you to the characters and pulls you in to their world. Be warned there is a cliffhanger…. but I can’t wait to visit Club Oxygen and see what happens in Plaything.
Oxygen is a novella, the prequel of The Club Oxygen series. We’ve been shown a glimpse into the main characters Jacob and Elise and their sexual desires. The author added some suspenseful moments, which made the reader stop and think about the fork in the road and which direction he’d choose to lead us. I look forward to getting to know them better in book two Plaything.
We are introduced to a kinky couple, Jacob a firefighter and his wife Elise. They’re both open to attend their usual sex club and try out an experimental switch. Jacob tells Elise he’ll always be right here with her, will he be watching her from near or far though? Conversation is about interpretation, words often have a much deeper meaning.
I first read Oxygen in The Men of Valor Anthology and it was great to read it again. The book is a very short read, but it captured my attention immediately. Oxygen gives you a little glimpse into Jacob and Elise’s BDSM world. I felt their love jump from the pages. The book ends in a cliffhanger. I am interested in reading more in this series.
For a short prequel this is one HOT book. This gave you a taste of excitement, emotions breath taking. Can’t wait to read the next in this series. Enjoy.
