My life changed the night the Berserkers took me. Dagg and Svein cared for me like no other–until the Corpse King attacked and the battle rage took their minds. Now I’m alone. My mates are lost to madness, and my visions are growing worse. My nightmares, my only companions–unless I can defy the pack and save my warriors. I must trek into the wilderness and claim them for my own–or die in the … die in the attempt.

The story of Fern, Svein and Dagg.
I loved this story so much. It was a story filled with sadness, but also hope and joy.
My heart just broke for Fern for how she was treated and how she felt of yourself. I loved that she didn’t always say much, but did when it mattered and she a lot stronger than she thought.
Her strength and a bit of stubbornness saved lives.
A Berserker story with a twist!
This time the roles are reversed. In this second chance tale the woman is the one to take matters into her own hands and set out to save her mates.
In the timeline of the Berserker saga this happens long befor the battle with the Corpse King. But the events taking place between Fern, Dagg and Svein are laying the foundation not only to the approach of that fight but also to the reshaping of pack rules.
And since Ms Savino, the Queen of smexy, is the writer, this vignette of Berserker life is just that.
Smart, sexy, dominant, sweet and full of love.
I love any book that Lee Savino writes! The author has incredible talent of writing stories that you fall in love with the characters. All of the Berserkers stories do not disappoint.
I could not put down this book. Wonderful characters with a unpredictable story line. Just when you think you have everything figured out you find a zinger.
Fern is reunited with Svein and Dagg. Svein helps Fern remember their past, which fuels her to save Dagg.
I received a copy of the book from the author via bookfunnel, and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Dagg and Svein were part of the rescue at the abbey when they smelled her, their mate. She didn’t talk much and showed no fear and they carried her away. Of course, they didn’t know Fern had awful, scary dreams and had them for most her life. She had tried telling the family she lived with, then the nuns at the abbey. Each time she was punished for speaking nonsense and told never to talk about it.
This book takes the curse to the edge and is almost heartbreaking. Lee Savino has found yet another way to pull emotions from her readers and involve them in the emotional and physical trials of the Berserkers and their Brides. As each book ends, I look forward to the next one beginning.
I really liked this one and the further developments with the Corpse King storyline. I really liked Fern a lot!
Berserker Brides, Book 5. When the Corpse King strikes anew, can anything, anyone, stop him? Or is everything lost?
A refugee from the abbey, taken by the Berserkers, Fern’s life has been thrown into chaos. Then comes the ultimate irony. The only respite she’s ever known from the unrelenting terror invading her mind turns into a nightmare of its own. When Svein and Dagg took her from the abbey, she finally found peace. But the Corpse King hunted them down, turned Svein and Dagg’s very natures against them, and left Fern broken and alone. Worse still, she now knows the true origin of the horrific visions invading her mind. As she struggles to live with the Berserker clan, she comes to one inescapable conclusion. The Berserker Alphas may have banished Svein and Dagg, but she can’t, won’t, abandon them! But can it be that easy? Dagg’s no longer man nor wolf. Svein barely exists, even in his wolf form. What can she, a simple abbey maiden, do to save them from the Berserker madness? Soon, the decision’s all but made for her. Finding Svein and Dagg won’t be easy. Even if she survives the brutal weather the Corpse King’s created, what can she do? But find them she does…only to learn it may be too late. For Fern, dying with her mates is the only option to living with the Corpse King in her mind. Is there any hope? The Berserkers search to find all three and destroy them. Worse still…the Corpse King uses every power in his arsenal to take control of Fern and use her against everyone she loves. There’s the faintest glimmer, the tiniest spark, of hope. Fern may be someone…something…no one’s ever known. But is that enough? Can she alone stand against the evil that stalks her? Or will the ultimate destruction reign?
Lee Savino’s Berserkers are deliciously irresistible! Fern may seem the archetypal abbey maiden but she’s no shrinking violet. She’s suffered unspeakable agonies in silence, never knowing when or where the terrors might strike. Her strength is the literal salvation of her abbey sisters. But despite everything she’s endured, it’s her kind and gentle nature that draws Svein and Dagg to her. These three seem made for each other. I love their relationship, the way Fern calls to the Berserker rage embedded in Svein and Dagg’s souls, how Svein and Dagg alone bring the peace Fern desperately needs. This triad is utterly captivating! We again meet old friends from the past, but now roles have changed. The Corpse King is more virulent and malignant than ever. The Berserkers, spaewives, and witches are simultaneously enchanting and terrifying. Lee Savino’s taken her beguiling Berserker world and interwoven danger, uncertainty, magic, malevolent evil, and the greatest power of all…love…to form the most enchanting paranormal experience you could know. I’m never going to get enough of the Berserkers! Congratulations, Ms. Savino! You’ve given this reader one of the most amazing reading experiences…and you’ve done it with style and panache! Owned by the Berserkers is, quite simply, breathtaking! It deserves so much more than five stars!
A final note. This is an ADULT book. It contains explicit language and sexual scenes. If you don’t enjoy this genre, this may not be the book for you. There are book synopses and reviews available on Goodreads and Amazon. Use these resources. DON’T LEAVE A NEGATIVE REVIEW WHEN YOU KNOW YOU WON’T ENJOY THE BOOK. It’s not fair to the author. She works hard to provide a quality work product. If you know you’ll object to a book’s subject matter before you buy it, you’re doing yourself and the author an extreme disservice.
Thanks for reading my review and happy reading!
Fern finds her voice! The quietest of the spaewives has to find her strength to save her fated mates Svein & Dagg. Not an easy task for one so shy & tormented by her dreams she can barely speak. This one has lots of tension and plenty of action – I need the next book to see if they defeat the Corpse King. Kinda obsessed with this series.
I absolutely love this book and this series. The way this author writes, the world building, the strong, dominant, loveable characters, the steamy hot scenes that are part of the storyline but, don’t overwhelm it. Owned by the Berserkers will pull you in and keep your attention from the beginning until the end. I would definitely recommend this book and this series.
