Own to Obsess by Zoey Ellis is book 8 in the Myth of Omega Series, but is the second book in the story of Shaya and Kardos, So you should read the previous book first. This book does open us up to Kardos point of view more. Shaya of course is missing her homeland and is still realizing that Kardos may just see her as a prize that he has. Kardos doesn’t win many praises from me for his treatment of Shaya but he so focused on wanting to be the High Chief he may loose what means the most.
This book doesn’t end their story and will continue into the next one.
This book was so dang good. Steamy! I love me some anti-hero deliciousness. Kardos is serving it all up. Kardos and Shaya continue to build their bond. Intrigue and dissension continues to plague Kardos’s attempt to rise to the high chief seat. Will Kardos chose love or power? It feels like I was on the edge of my seat. Shaya continues to try to fit in and belong. Kardos makes a huge mistake, will Shaya keep taking his crap or take charge? We learn more of Kardos’s background. The stunning continuation of the myth of the omega saga. You can’t miss this! This author is the best at alpha and omega stories in my opinion. I thought I had figured out what was gonna happens and I was wrong. Totally thrown by the ending. Cliffhanger!
This book was quite a journey; the book begins and ends with a bang. With the POV bouncing back and forth you get an amazing insight to both main characters that I feel is necessary for this book. If it just followed Shaya’s point of view I don’t if I would’ve been able to keep reading the book let alone the rest of the series considering how Kardos is portrayed most of the time from her POV. It really does emphasis the importance of communication in a relationship to see how they see each others actions versus what they mean them to be. Being able to have Kardos’s POV in this book helped me see him as more than just a domineering a**. It was wonderful to see him caring for her so delicately during parts and how he truly cared for her. This sequel also told us the story of Az Eshra and deepened the mythology of the world. Though I was confused to some aspects such as explanation of what kind of paranormals these people are.. Alpha, Beta, and Omega as well as some other aspects all strongly suggest shifters/weres, but then magic was also mentioned. I would’ve loved for that to have been clarified in the books.

This second part to Kardos and Shaya’s story has been a long, but satisfying wait. 4+ stars. We’re on the ship traveling to the Southern Isles. Kardos is trying to teach Shaya the things she’ll need to know when they arrive at their home lands. He punishes Shaya for not learning, fast enough, “enough, enough!” It’s harsh and gets worse. Thank goodness for Treska and Rozalia. Kardos has mated with Shaya, but, will that keep her with him and him alone? What will be Shaya’s fate? I enjoyed Shaya’s strength, and her weak moments endeared her to me. I loved when she discovers the meaning of the words Kardos speaks to her during their “touching” moments together. I enjoyed this and will read the next. (My only complaint…this needs proof-reading. Incorrect tense abounds; missing words, extra words. It takes slightly away from the reading experience.)
The more I read of Shaya and Kardos’ story, the more I fall in love with each of them.
We’re starting to see Shaya’s inner strength, which is immense. Shaya makes a very impulsive decision to take back the power she feels she’s lost. But as she learns to live with the fall out out of choosing Kardos, she is starting to understand more about herself.
Kardos is changing in different ways. He’s always been strong, but at times he’s starting to learn to bend. There’s flashes of something more than the iron fist and determination he shows the world.
I’ve loved watching each of these characters go and develop. Their story is so different than the previous tales. I can’t wait to see how their story ends.
Dark Omegaverse Adventure Continues!
The powerful, raw, emotional, steamy drama just keeps getting better. Kardos and Shaya’s tumultuous journey is a real page turner. The total lack of communication, stubbornness and jumping to conclusions makes for a very interesting and suspenseful story. Watch out for the cliffhanger ending. Enjoy!
I received an arc copy and am happy to leave my honest review.
I haven’t read the whole series but in the case of this book I advise readers to read book 7 in the series prior to reading this one as this book is a continuation of book 7. There is also a cliffhanger at the end of this book, so be warned and prepared to have a need to read the next book in the series! The plot has both strong male and female characters, even though it’s an alpha/omega story. Kardos and Shaya, the two main characters in this story, have a great connection to each other. There is a lot of action and the story moves along at a steady pace. It’s a well thought out and written story that has some surprises along the way to keep the reader well and truly engaged!

Own To Obsess (Myth of Omega Book 8) by Zoey Ellis is an awesome story to read. This is book number eight in this awesome series that I have really enjoyed reading. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about fantasy, paranormal and dark romances in their stories.

This is the second book in Shaya and Kardos’ story arc. You need to read Own To Obey first or you will not get the start of their story. As things continue to unfold in this romance, you are left on edge as Shaya struggles with her situation and Kardo’s continues to be blinded by his quest to rule. This is a dark read, so it is not for everyone. So if in doubt, I recommend you give the book a pass. It is easy to get caught up in these characters and their story. Things are complicated, complex and often painful. Does end in a cliffhanger inpreperation of the next book.

Wow so this story of alpha kardos is trying to become the high chief witch he has been fighting to get since a kid, but when his like Bird (shaya) katashaya bit him it started him to treat her differently and her suitability . Awesome story 10 stars can’t wait for more.
Own to Obsess by Zoey Ellis is book 8 in the Myth of Omega Series, but is the second book in the story of Shaya and Kardos. It continues right where the previous book left off but from Kardos POV and we get a look into his minds as the realization that his life goal of becoming High Chief is now out of his reach because of the claiming bite from his captive Omega.
This novel has a lot more politics as Kardos now has to fight for what he considers his and his obsession with being perfect and wanting the High Chief seat could cost him alot more. The story was fast-paced and descriptive and we are given a glimpse of the Southern Isles. The steamy scenes were hot and intense and these two although perfect for each other had some serious communication issues. The cliff-hanger ending will leave you anxious for the next book in this series.
Own to Obsess was an engrossing well-crafted novel and I would highly recommend it to all lovers of epic fantasy romances.
I love Zoey’s work and the detail she gives to her characters and story setting. This series gets better with each story and Own to Obsess is a testament to it. Kardos and Shaya brings this story to life. It’s intense story line is an emotional rollercoaster along with its twists and turns will have you taking deep breaths and biting your nails!

This book is gripping with goodness, it’s very well written. Shaya is conflicted by her feelings for Kardos. She’s skilled with potions and uses that to her advantage. She feels very manipulated and used as a means to an end by Kardos. Good book, well written!

Kardos is so intense, sexy and obsessed! Shaya is sweet but strong. This is the second book about Kardos and Shaya and its fabulous. What a great follow up to the first book. I cant wait for the next one! I couldn’t put this book down!!!
In this installment Kardos is still on my naughty list. He is the quintessential alpha who is focused on his end game not realizing the damage he is doing to his bond with Shaya. It defies my understanding why I fall so hard for this kind of character since I am absolutely livid with his actions. A harsh climate, a foreign culture, and a mate who needs to get his priorities straight I am amazed that Shaya managed to get up and face each day with courage. I admire Shaya who faced so many adversities in her new life. I will admit to screaming out loud a few times as if I could change the actions of these characters who at times seemed so real. It was a consuming read that I recommend!
Wow! Zoey Ellis continues her winning streak with part 2 of Kardos and Shaya’s story. I’m loving these characters. Kardos is big and bad and oh so very very alpha. He controls everything and everyone in his world. Shaya is sweet but stronger than she knows and is his perfect match. Major cliffhanger but oh so very worth it. Eagerly looking forward to the next book which continues their story.
I’m always a bit wary when there are warnings on a book but in this case he is who he is supposed to be. He’s not maliciously cruel, he’s just who his world has made him. She’s not wimpy, she’s way stronger than she knows, and than he knows. Together they are amazing. My warning is don’t be lulled when things start to look like they’ll be happy because this author loves to keep us guessing. Exciting storyline, hot love affair and two characters that appear to be totally mismatched but are actually perfect together, but they haven’t figured that out yet and are NOT making much progress. Very highly recommended but be sure to read Own to Obey (Book 1 of Kardos and Shaya’s story). (I voluntarily reviewed an ARC).
Own to Obsess picks up where Own to Obey left off. Shaya and Kardos have many uphill battles to fight in the Southern Isles. One of the biggest battles, in my opinion, is themselves. I really like these two together but, man, they really frustrate me too. They are perfect for each other and compliment each other well. However, their communication skills with each other is sorely lacking. This poor communication leads to many misunderstandings and hurt feelings.
There is drama, danger, secrets, and mistrust abound. There are also some really steamy moments as well. This story was a page turner and I just couldn’t put it down. The book does end on a cliffhanger with Shaya making a poor decision. Although one made out of what she thinks is self-preservation. Will Shaya and Kardos’ relationship make it? Will they ever gain acceptance in the eyes of the people of the Isles? I will be anxiously waiting for the next book to find out.
*I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This is my honest review.*
This is book 2 continuing on their story. I absolutely loved it! Shaya is trying to figure out who she is not just as an omega but as a new member of her tribe and what her role is. Kardos struggling how to get what he wants and keep her too is his biggest challenge yet. But will he, like most Alphas, push his mate farther away in doing what he thinks is best. I laughed so hard and cried harder. It was sweet, had lots of sass and so much more to look forward too. I love the people they are becoming. His overbearing Alpha attitude was such a laugh to read whole her sweet and shy nature make them the perfect match! Cant wait for book 3!
