She is deadly, unpredictable, and holds a grudge. She still belongs to him.
Tricked and betrayed, April needs to face the facts. She is a monster.
Unlike the rest, she can at least pretend that she’s human. That’s until night falls. When the sun disappears, so does her humanity. Her other self doesn’t really care what April thinks.
Especially when she is thirsty.
Accepting Sebastian’s … thinks.
Especially when she is thirsty.
Accepting Sebastian’s help feels like a slap in the face, but she has a plan. Get rid of the Council, then get rid of Sebastian. Only if he didn’t taste so good, things would’ve been much easier on her heart.
April is determined to succeed, and whoever stands in her way will see why she is the only human vampire in existence.

What a great continuation! Loved the first book. This takes off where the other left off. Must read in order. Love it!
Rovesciamento: Overthrown is book 2 In the New Blood Rising series.. I loved reading it as much as book one. With lots more action and magic being tossed around.. There is some shocking surprises that are revealed along with a surprising twist.
I love April’s snarky attitude on how things must go her way or else.. Sebastian’s protective way when it comes to what is his and as he puts it.. “I will always protect what is mine… And April you are mine”
Marcus is still his normal go get the bad guy but with a plan.. And Andrei is still soft hearted and has the calming effect that calms April when she is in her angry mood.
I simply loved Rovesciamento: Overthrown; lots of action and surprises happen throughout n the story. If you love lots of Vampires and Magic this is an awesome book to read.
April becomes one of the monsters she loathes. In learning to live with her new self, she figures some stuff out and goes to war with the council. I’m thoroughly enjoying this riveting series.
Can April accept her new reality and help forge a new future? Can she save those she has come to care for?
This is the 2nd book in this amazing series! April is now a vampire ( which she considers a monster). By day she is April but at night she can be a killing machine. She is out for payback and revenge and this is one girl who can get it!! Sebastian and the others try to support April and all the changes she is going through…. Which only makes her mad. But I don’t think anyone knew how powerful she would be. I would bet in a fight she could kick anyone’s butt’!!!!! At times I saw the way her heart pulled towards Sabastian, but that also made her mad. The council is just full of a**holes, and no one really knows who can truly be trusted. Two of my favorite parts were when Andrei made Sebastian and Marcus see that April did not want to loose her humanity. And when April kicks off of Sebastian and jumps up on the roof grabbing the Guardian. Then she smiles and says “Oh, look what I found” I just died laughing. What until you see what she does next!!!!!This book is off the charts, and full of suspense, pain, love and action from the first page to the last. This author is so talented and weaves a story that you will not forget!! I highly recommend this author and this book. It was just EPIC!!!!
Rovesciamento: Overthrown is the second book in the New Blood Rising series, and we continue where we left off in book one. April has been changed into a ‘monster’, and she’s not happy about it. Well, not during the daytime at least. At night, she has a personality change (literally) and becomes a killing machine. She is determined not to lose her humanity, but Marcus and Sebastian don’t realise that. It is Andrei who makes them realise, and that to me, was one of the best scenes in the book!!!
This is an amazing read, full of intricacies and betrayal, with layer upon layer of story. Trust me, you will not be bored with this tale!! I loved seeing how April united with herself, and the reasons she was behaving the way she was. Sebastian is as hot as ever, and I loved how April ignored his over-protectiveness when it suited her. Marcus and Andrei continue to be the best supporting characters you could wish for.
As with most Maya Daniels books, this one ends on a cliffhanger. I really wish I didn’t enjoy her writing as much as I do, because these cliffhangers kill me! With no editing or grammatical errors, this was another fantastic read from start to finish that I have no hesitation in recommending. I can’t wait for book 3. I need to know if someone is dead or not!

Archaeolibrarian – I Dig Good Books!
We are reading the second installment in this series and it is AWESOME! Maya Daniels continues to put out fantastic books that keep you spellbound! April and Sebastian are back along with Mutt, Marcus and Andrei. Now that she is a monster like the others, she has much work ahead of her. She is fighting to control herself when the sun sets and is herself during daylight hours. Sebastian and her share a really close connection that she does not want…or does she? The Council members are in hiding but soon will come out! Some make a huge mistake thinking that another woman is the Matron! Plans are afoot on both sides to take back control of what was lost! Included in this war are the mages~ There is also a question about Sarah’s loyalty to April and company~ More action, battles, and a steamy scene will comprise this second chapter in this series. A sacrifice will be made that will make April incensed! But, there is a surprise attack after the war with the council and no one saw it coming…now we wait for book three…Agony! I received this book as an ARC and am leaving a voluntary review.
Awesome, just awesome!!
April is now a vampire, a royally pissed off vampire who wants revenge and blood ~ lots of blood!!
Sebastian and the guys try to help and support April with all the changes and challenges which only pisses her off more AND makes her heart swell much to her displeasure ~ things would be so much easier if he was just an arse all the time!
Don’t even get me started on the Council!
A fantastic read yet again!! As I said after book 1 – this is going to be epic!!
