The epic conclusion to the Edge Series.
What kind of man would die to save his wife?
The only thing that ever stood between me and madness was my wife.
And now, she’s in trouble. She’s falling into the hole that almost ended me. The only thing standing between her and the fate I escaped is me.
But I have no expertise in this. No knowledge but what she taught me. I’m flying blind here….and every … blind here….and every moment that passes brings me closer to losing her.
She says I’m crossing the line, but she can draw a million lines around her and I’ll cross every single one to get to her, even if it destroys me.

This is the final book of the series. You have to read the entire series in order. This is the final piece in Caden and Greyson’s saga. This series is mind boggling. Super sexy and intricately plotted. Each book builds on the previous. The story is seamless and the ending is spectacular. You have to read it to believe this level of writing genius is possible.
I seriously have loved this story from the very beginning and have been obsessed with Caden and Greyson. OMG THIS SERIES WAS MINDBLOWING and envelope-pushing and all of the things CD Reiss is known and loved for. This story was intense, sexy, shocking and ultimately heartwarming. I loved Caden and Greyson and seriously never wanted this to end.
Gah!! I don’t know where to start with this series without giving away spoilers. This story is seriously unbelievable. The hurdles this couples will jump in order to be together is truly astonishing. I love that the author delved deeper in Greyson’s past and trauma in this book and how she had to come to terms with certain things. It was superb! I love how it was like the series came full circle but this time it was Caden standing by his wife and trying to bring her back.
Gah! You seriously need to read this series because at its heart is a couple who are truly and deeply in love. They go on a dark, edgy and psychologically traumatic journey in order to be with one another. It was sexy, romantic, disturbing, poignant, and ultimately a story of resiliency and determination for love to conquer all. Bravo! 5 stars! ~Ratula
Oohhhhhh emmmmm geeeeeee!
This book. These characters. THIS SERIES is one of the best I’ve read this year. It was one hell of a messy ride, but worth every single, crazy bump in the road! YES, YES, YES!
We begin Over the Edge where Broken Edge left off, with our jaws hanging open and wondering what in the hell was going to be in store for Greyson and Caden. CD Reiss delivers on so many levels words can’t do their story justice. They continue to be intense, honest and real in their relationship. Nothing has come easy for Greyson and Caden, so why should this final installment be any different, right?!?! IT’S NOT. I wouldn’t expect anything different given the journey CD Reiss has taken us on with this unconventional couple.
The love these two share bleeds, bleeds off the pages until the very end. They continue to show us how nothing, NOTHING else matters but their love for one another. The tables are turned and it’s Greyson that needs Caden in ways they never could have imagined. I can say that I truly had no idea what twists and turns CD Reiss would throw at us.
This story has it all; truth, lies, passion, desire. It’s intense and I loved every heart stopping, nerve wracking, nail biting moment. I’m sad this crazy ride is over!
The epic conclusion to this psychological dark “brain-fudge” will leave you finally with your feet on the ground and your stomach back in its place.
Now that Greyson has taken the BiCam instead of Caden, no one knows what will happen next. Ronin has his suspicions but he is not talking. Caden is going out of his mind trying to stay abreast of the changes to Greyson, and Greyson … well, she knows what happened to Caden but is not quite sure if the same will happen to her. At least she is able to verbalize what she is going through to Caden. He is determined to risk it all to stay with her and see her through this mess. This is where hidden secrets begin to show themselves and the rollercoaster ride begins. You will not be able to put this book down until you know all. Even then, the twists and turns will keep you on edge and ready to spring. An unbelievable ride!
I am voluntarily reviewing this book. Thanks to the author for sharing a copy with me.
This review is by far the most difficult I’ve had to write. This entire series is far above my reader scale, so I hope I don’t fall short in my attempt to analyse it.
The story is so large and so loaded, it has its own trajectory. Like a meteor hurtling towards the earth, the inevitable annihilation approaching, i could feel the crisis building up, climax almost writhin reach and yet I didn’t know how it would end, the continuous mystery kept the danger alive and pulsating. it’s heavily pregnant with fatigue and stress that the military personnel go through on a daily basis, the root cause of PTSD. This up, close and personal view is scary and dreadful and substantiates the immediate need to end the fruitless wars all over the world. The aftermath in losses and damages are just not worth it.
“If you took my arms and legs away, I’d know who I was.
Take my eyes, my ears, I’d still be me. But my sanity?”
“Who am I?”
Brain is merely 2% of total body weight, but the most complex and still uncharted and understudied organ of the human body. I can almost visualise christine with a magnifying glass, studying her subject matters’ brains with a forceps in hand, looking in folds and crevices, pulling out threads of thoughts from their minds. She certainly has the ability to analyze and scrutinise shreds of emotions lying hidden in the nooks and crannies of the personality which could easily be overlooked by a simpler author, yet Christine’s professional eyes catch them.
She was out of her mind. Free of sound judgment. Listening to voices that wanted her to act without thinking.
The difference between us was that for the moment, I was sane.
Are you? Are we? Are any of us?
Greyson has volunteered to be in clear and present danger at the end of book 3, the repercussions can be felt in this book. Threat is looming large like a sandstorm in this final chapter of the series. The sentiments are running amok, Greyson is edgy and shifty. Caden is feeling helpless and incapable. His lack of knowledge puts him on a back foot of competence, so confidence is his only tool to fight against this invisible enemy threatening to explode in Greyson’s body and ultimately destroying their marriage.
My ignorance without confidence would break me.
Confidence without knowledge of my ignorance would break her.
Caden’s love for her is unparalleled and indisputable. That’s a given, but that also brings more responsibility and onus on him to protect her, not let go of her hand as she could be lost forever in the military experimental paperwork. I loved Caden and his dogged loyalty and sum total love that had him following Grayson over the edge of sanity, metaphorically and physically.
“You’re the one indisputable thing in my life.”
“The only thing I live for. It’s you, baby. You’re gravity. You’re the sky. You’re the air. You’re the first breath in the morning and my dreams at night. I’m sure of you because you’re mine.”
Oh to be the object of such a devotion!! You could climb mountains, fall from the sky, cross deserts, fight the demons wearing the kevlar of such all encompassing love. Caden holds her hand all the way into the darkness to pull her back into the light. I wish I could be Greyson for this book, even at the cost of losing my mind
“Who is it then? Because this is the real me. The other one is a shadow of me. Maybe a subset of things I haven’t done. Or have done. Or the bits I don’t like… or traits I don’t use… the waste all bundled up and shoved into the light. But she’s not me.”
Which brings me to the real malady. What if we could identify, seperate and seclude all the bad characteristics of our personalities and since we can’t throw them out like garbage, we isolate them in a subdivision of our psyche. That part becomes an entity on it’s own and what we have now is another personality living inside the same body.
Respite. A reprieve. A suspended sentence. And the name of mental discomfort. The name of its opposite.
It’s one of the most toughest topic to even understand fully, Christine goes a step further and puts into a simpler context for us to decipher. I had to read hundreds of lines & passages twice, then pm her to feel & fully understand the intense impact of them
Her nuances are like pin pricks. They are physically just few mm in mass, but you can see the immense emotion and the sentiments hiding behind them. When Grayson talks about respite she says, “she’s lying, Damon was unreliable, she’s unreliable. she’s manipulating you.”
“she felt something, even if it was jealousy, it was something” /i>
Ahhhhhhh! That’s the first thread, which Caden grabs and starts pulling. I swear i was shitting bricks as I raced towards the end, I didn’t know how she will tie up the story, how does everyone get out of this fog !!!!. And then there’s the heartstopping BOMBSHELL !!
I. Stopped. Breathing !.
**GASP ** GASP**GASP**GASP **
she did not……oh yes SHE DID! I couldn’t believe what I was reading !!!
I’m dumbfounded! She makes me feel things that I didn’t know I could feel she makes me see things I didn’t know I could see and that’s the ability of a genius author. Having said that, she also is pretty cruel when she toys with us, and her characters.
But what a fitting finale, a masterpiece comes to a deserving ending.
Of the characters, Caden is typically Reiss Alpha. He’s take charge, strong, analytical, besotted man.
Greyson is strong, supportive, sacrificing and submitting. Her world is shielded by the blue sky, which resides in Caden’s eyes. I mean how blindingly romantic is that!
But I have to mention here the unsung hero of the story. Older brother Jake. He’s in the background but his sibling support and loyalty keeps him in the foreground always.
“I’ve been taking sniper courses. They make us think of them as targets. Not people. Like if we tell a part of ourselves that it’s really a person, it poisons the part that does the shooting. But I don’t know. I don’t know if I can do it. After this, I don’t know if I can lie to myself.”
Hats off, salute to him! He is a one man salvage and rescue team though things don’t go as planned for Grayson, but that’s a whole another story.
Everything was clear. And real. Clicking into place— Forgiveness matched with responsibility. Sorrow with hope.
Contentment with worry.
Death with love.
Acceptance with elation.
Caden with Greyson.
And for the record- you DIDN’T push the credulity too far in this or anything!
5 “Blue sky stars”
Enigmatic. Intensive. Intellective. Riveting.
Quite a conclusion to a psychological mind bending series. Delving too much into the story may give away some paramount or telling points of the story so I will do my best to avoid anything that may give it away.
Amidst a war, Caden and Grey are pawns to a conglomerate fabricating an experimental drug that in a perfect world would produce the best military and/or medical personnel in stressful and demanding situations such as warfare. But to those that have had trauma in their lives it creates a split and brings out the less dominant personalities of that person.
As we have learned with Caden’s break in the previous installments, he was cured with a powerful and intensive parallel situation that fused his fractured psyche back together. But what do you think would happen to someone who may have not had a past traumatic event, someone with a strong mind that is aware of the effects of this drug. Would their personalities split? In this final installment we get to witness the dissection of Caden and Grey’s foundation, the restructuring and restoration of that framework.
A gripping and subliminal series. A recommended read by this blogger.
Sweet lord!!!!!!
This series has been absolutely mind blowing, not only do we have 2 characters with passion as hot as hell,
Greyson & Caden have had so many ups and downs twists and turns and boy they have had such a bloody time of it.
But only CD Reiss can pull off such a complicated storyline and make us think WTF the whole way through!!!!
Christine I love you
OVER THE EDGE by CD Reiss is book Four in The Edge series. This continues the story of Caden and Greyson, so I do feel you should read the previous books to fully enjoy this one.
With this book it takes us to the end of this series with Caden and Greyson. I truly feel the series name ‘The Edge’ has been the correct one! This series has kept me on the edge through out their story and waiting for the next one in this series. I would highly recommend this series since it is so captivating. I hope to read more by this author soon…loved this series

Cutting Edge (prequel)
Rough Edge
On the Edge
Broken Edge
Over the Edge
What a ride to hell and back! Trust me when I say “I’d do it again in a heartbeat”!!
This epic finale in one of the most mind blowing series I have ever read will have you on the edge of your seat, almost ready to pee your pants and swearing like a banshee until the very end. I mean at one stage I wanted to kill CD Reiss because I was sure she was going to do what I didn’t want her to do.
Over The Edge is nothing but outstanding. The superb writing will consume every fibre of your being and still have you reeling long after you’ve finished. How this authors mind works is fascinating, intriguing and downright genius.
This book brings Caden and Greyson’s story full circle and there is definitely no cure for the hangover you will have when your finished. Do yourself a favour, start at the beginning with Rough Edge and I promise you, you will not stop until the last word in this book.
Over the Edge is book 4 in The Edge series and is the conclusion and what an conclusion it is! I surprisingly enjoyed reading the Acknowledgments. There is a lot of information on C.D. Reiss’ research for this series of books.
I haven’t read all the books that C. D. Reiss has written so I am no judge as to which is the best book/series but, I can tell you it is my favorite series so far. I have loved reading The Edge Series and couldn’t wait until the next installment was released.
Over the Edge starts off after 5 days from where we were left off in Broken Edge. This book took a turn that I never expected it to from the very beginning. And, the ending was surprisingly good! I wasn’t sure what to expect with the turn this book took.
I love this whole series and I am sorry to see it end. I can’t wait to read more of C.D. Reiss’ books!
I give Over the Edge 5 stars. Loved it!
I can honestly say the conclusion to The Edge series is such a relief. I can’t remember a story I’ve read recently where the MCs were more deserving of their HEA.
While I was reading this story, I have to confess there were times when I didn’t know if I was coming or going, however, I got the impression that is exactly how the author wanted us to feel, because I’m pretty sure the MCs, Greyson and Caden, didn’t know either.
I really don’t think there’s anything I can share without completely spoiling this for readers, but this series was so original, full of uncertainty and totally mesmerizing.
It’s a 4 star for me because, there were times, I was a little too confused and had to backtrack a bit and re-read, but the author has taken some amazing chances in the telling of this story. If you haven’t started this series yet, I highly recommend you add it to your list.
The Edge Series is nothing short of a brilliant psychological erotic romance!!!
And my gosh is it ever perfectly titled, because I was absolutely on the edge throughout each book, never knowing what was going to happen next, completely shocked and awed with every twist and revelation!
Over the Edge is the conclusion of the Edge Series, of Greyson and Caden’s intense mind-bending heart-pounding love story, and it’s everything that it should be and nothing that I ever could have predicted, and it was PERFECT!!
It’s shocking and exhilarating, so stunningly erotic, and kept my mind spinning while absorbing every single detail and I could not put it down until I fell Over the Edge right along with Greyson and Caden!!! WOW, what a breathtaking heart stopping ending….. LOVED IT!!!
For me, the Edge Series is the MUST READ SERIES of the year!!!!!
Author C.D. Reiss’ talent shines through in Over The Edge, the final installment of The Edge Series. Just like what you’ve imagined a descent into madness would be, The Edge Series started dark, became darker with despair and worry setting in, and then, in Over The Edge, the fog slowly lifts and there is eventual light and hope.
Greyson and Caden are an enviable couple. They are individually successful and highly regarded. They are madly and deeply in love and fully committed to each other. Through the series, PTSD and intrigue have shrouded their love, but that love has never wavered. I loved how each of these characters had their own battles, and how their “other half” was strong, supportive, and protective during those battles. Caden’s sacrifice in Over The Edge is nothing short of swoony-sigh worthy.
I was completely shocked at the story’s zenith. I was in disbelief that Ms. Reiss would take the route she did. With my mouth agape and my heart racing, I read on and found something else entirely.
All is revealed in this final installment, and C.D. Reiss has out down herself. As usual, her research and respectful treatment of topics is evident in this emotional, dark romance. Greyson and Caden’s love is epic and had me free falling for this enthralling series conclusion.
Fantastic read! An absolute mind trip! This final book in this gripping series gets you from the beginning and take you on a wild ride you won’t forget. The twist and turns will keep you guessing. Truly an amazing story. I highly recommend this book.
“We were a promise the Universe made before we were born.”
WOW! WHAT A SERIES ENDING! CD Reiss truly saved the best for last! Over The Edge was the explosive, mind altering ending you thought it would be. This book was seriously EVERYTHING. Yet at the same time so much more. I could not EVER recommend this book enough! I was glued to my phone from the very first page, to the very last page. I was utterly consumed with Greyson and Caden. My mind is still struggling to comprehend the thoughts I need to write this review. All I can keep thinking is WOW, WOW, WOOW! This book is going straight into my best reads of 2018. I was not not ready to see this series end. The Edge series will continue to haunt your mind long after the story ends. It is a mouth gaping, jaw dropping, mind blowing ride. With each page only taking you faster than the last page. Over The Edge takes mariage to another level. To the point that it just makes it’s own level altogether. Greyson and Caden are simply a twisted perfection. Their love utterly consumes you. Their chemistry burns HOTTER than any couple I have read before them. My mind is struggling with how I am supposed to move on from them.
“You’re the one indisputable thing in my life.” I wedged my hips between her legs. “The only thing I live for. It’s you, baby. You’re gravity. You’re the sky. You’re the air. You’re the first breath in the morning and my dreams at night. I’m sure of you because you’re mine.”
I LOVED that Over The Edge focused more on Greyson’s character. It only left you admiring her that much more. Th author made sure you saw every facet her character had to offer. She is absolutely one of the strongest, fiercest, and intelligent heroines I have ever read. Your heart will break for Greyson so many times over this book. Even at her weakest she was still at her strongest. Every obstacle Greyson faces, she takes it head on with sheer determination. No matter how dark Her passion always shines through. Her love for Caden truly has no bounds.
“The sunlight came diffuse through the blinds, hitting the blue in his eyes. The irises looked like blue glass bowls. They covered me and only me. A sky of my very own, watching me, protecting me, pinning me to the security of the earth.”
If Caden did not own your heart before, after Over The Edge he will have utterly consumed it. Caden will leave no part of you unscathed. He sets out to own you. Mind, body, and soul. Every word out of his mouth oozes dominance. He demands your attention with every move his character makes. You feel his devotion to Greyson in every page you turn. Detached Caden is gone. In it’s place is a husband determined to love his wife to the Edge.
“I’m not here to give you what you deserve. I’m here to give you what you like.”
*10 STARS*
Because lets be honest, 5 simply is NOT enough. Nor will it ever be enough for this series.
I thought I was prepared for this conclusion, but I wasn’t. I thought it was going to go down a certain way, but it didn’t. I wasn’t sure if I was going to like it about half way in because there’s a lot that happens, all I kept thinking was whoa, what now? Seriously, what the french toast is going on now?! But I just kept reading and trusting that it was going to be all okay and once everything unfolded, my mind was blown! I said it before and I’ll say it again, this would make a fantastic movie. This whole series is absolutely amazing. It’s different, twisty as hell and totally not predictable. And that right there is some stellar storytelling I tell you!
Wow. Just wow. I can’t believe this was it, the last book in the series. We’ve reached the end of the line in Caden and Greyson’s story. I’m sad about that but at the same time, I don’t think I could have handled much more of what these two go through in order to be together.
Just thinking back on what Caden and Greyson have done so far that shows their intense and immense love for each other, I was scared to read what more they would be going through. After what Greyson did at the end of Broken Edge, I was bracing for impact when we found out what effect that shot was going to have on her.
CD takes us on a supremely complex ride of trying to figure out what exactly makes someone’s mind do what it does to protect it’s owner from total insanity, from spiraling into an abyss you can’t return from. Caden and Greyson both have events in their past that need to be unearthed and addressed, and I haven’t figured out if the dealings with the Blackthorne group made things worse, or actually moved them in a direction towards resolution. I have to say I was shocked at the twist involving Ronin this go around. Did not see that coming at all.
Super, super happy with the outcome of this final book. I held my breath all the way to the final page. There were so many unpredictable things that happened all the way through that I didn’t want to get my hopes up too high before I actually closed the book. And when I did close it, I had a huge smile on my face.
My head is still spinning at everything CD wove throughout this series. This is the type of series that I will still be thinking about months and years later when something happens that reminds me of Caden and Greyson. I know I say this a lot, probably about every book CD writes, but I am just in awe at the depth and complexity of her stories. I don’t know how or where she comes up with her ideas, storylines, themes for her books, but I hope and pray she just keeps doing it. She’s an automatic go to author for me, and I feel happy and privileged that I’ve discovered her.
5 Stay on the Edge Stars
I’ve been on pins and needles waiting for Over The Edge, the conclusion to The Edge Series and let me tell you, it doesn’t disappoint. It’s edgy and mind blowing. Caden and Grayson have a love so epic and passionate there is no way to truly describe it. Their story sucks you in and doesn’t diminish in its mesmerizing and intriguing tale until the very end. It is a story that needs to be experienced and read from beginning to end. I can’t recommend it enough!
To say the plot thickens would be misleading. This book unravels you, twists your feelings, and chews your thoughts. Hold on to your theories, people. They are about to be blown up.
Caden and Greyson are unapologetic in the fierceness of their love and sacrifice. When you think nothing else could test the strength of their emotions, think again.
What an epic ending of this amazing series!! is dark, intriguing and the main characters definitely bring this story alive..
We finally get to see what happens with Caden and Greyson, after the last book we were left with a few unanswered questions but Over the Edge definitely, tells everything we’ve been wondering.
I really was speechless with how everything turned out.. so many things that I didn’t expect. Greyson’s change was one of them and it was brilliant because in a way, it gives the story a balance between the two characters.. in this book we get to see how Greyson reacts to this changes and why she decided to do that, to go to the dark side or the shadow side.. for her it was more important to save what she loved the most and she wasn’t ready for anyone to mess around with her mans mind..
“I Can’t take this. I Can’t take another minute. I Can’t live in my own head anymore. I don’t know who I am or what I think. I’m at my limit. I Can’t take it. I’ll do anything to make it stop”
Greyson was fearless, bold and strong when it came to Caden.. for her nothing was more important than her Husband. Caden was first, their love was first, and that’s what made their love so good..
“This was Caden. If I trusted anyone with my soul, it has to be him. I trusted him more than myself with my well-being.”
In Over the Edge, we get to see other sides of the main Characters. Greyson is now experiencing what she fought before.. she is fighting her own demons but also fighting to save her marriage, her love, her life.. She was the one helping before, now is her turn to seek help, she has to dig deeper to find a solution to save herself… Greyson was more “vulnerable” in this book especially when she was lurking on the other side, on the dark shadows .. she kept that vulnerability open for Caden to find her.. even though her shadow was trying so hard to keep her and him in the dark with her silence and aggressiveness..
“She was mine to protect. Mine to heal and love. No one should hurt her. Ever. Note me. Not her. No one should ever breach her wishes with their own”
Caden character is also not the exception, we get to see another side of him.. He is finally out of the shadows and this time is his turn to help and guide Greyson, she put herself in the line of fire and now Caden is ready to save her from her own self. In Over the Edge, Caden feels stronger, but at the same time more vulnerable watching the love of his life going through something he knew very well and still can’t understand.. `He is now helping Greyson, trying to come out of the shadows and finally be with him..
“The only thing I live for. It’s you, baby. You’re gravity. You’re the sky. You’re the air. You’re the first breath in the morning and dreams at night. I’m sure of you because you’re Mine”
The love between Caden and Greyson was so strong and beautiful, no matter the situation or the place, you could feel their connection and chemistry in every word. Greyson was a fighter and I really love how she fought hard when it came to Caden. He was her everything and she didn’t care to even put her life in danger to save her soulmate…
“My wife never accepted a boundary. She’d have pushed a mountain across a desert for me. She wouldn’t give up when she saw a wall. She’d break it down, dig under it, climb over it and conquer whatever was on the other side.”
Over the Edge is the last book and the conclusion of The Edge Series, so many things to say and not enough words to describe it.. definitely another mind-blowing series by CD Reiss, it is intriguing, full of emotions and dark moments, moments that bring so much light to Caden and Greyson’s Story..
“All I could do was give her the one thing she needed, the only thing I had. Me. My time. My body. My LOVE…”
