There is a story that is usually told about extremely successful people, a story that focuses on intelligence and ambition. Gladwell argues that the true story of success is very different, and that if we want to understand how some people thrive, we should spend more time looking around them-at such things as their family, their birthplace, or even their birth date. And in revealing that hidden … that hidden logic, Gladwell presents a fascinating and provocative blueprint for making the most of human potential.
In The Tipping Point Gladwell changed the way we understand the world. In Blink he changed the way we think about thinking. In OUTLIERS he transforms the way we understand success.

This is the second Malcolm Gladwell book I have read. I liked them both very much. He has interesting ideas and goes about confirming his conjectures and opinions in a very logical way. He is an original thinker and expresses himself well in such an interesting way that you will not believe you are reading non-fiction.
One of my favorite books! It is very thought-provoking and makes you look at the world and your own circumstances from a very different and interesting perspective.
Great book and graded inspiration. I strongly recommend that every educator read this book. It will give you insight on what is necessary to become great
Why do Asian kids outperform American kids in math? How did Bill Gates become a billionaire computer entrepreneur? Why were the Beatles great? Why is it that some people achieve so much more than others? In this book, Gladwell debunks the myth of a self made man, he defines Outliers as those who have been given opportunities — and who have the …
@jon you should check out Outliers: The Story of Success
A very good reading book for people who hate to read.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book because I personally believe in many of the concepts discussed in the book. Personally, I believe success is a product of talent, desire, determination, timing, opportunity, decisions made and luck. Not to acknowledge this is to deny the truth. Some of the observations about childhood rang true for me as someone who …

Aaron’s Book Reaction Disclaimer: The premise is that one of my readers is asking me questions. For the record, this is just a device I am using to have fun. I’m the one asking and answering. It’s more interesting for me to write them this way, and it gives the other voices in my head a chance to talk.
It’s time …
Rare insights and highly readable. I appreciate Malcolm Gladwell’s unique voice and point of view.
Detail oriented on what are the some major factors that play behind some of the prominent successful figures. After reading this, you realize, in most of the success stories, it’s not, “one man/woman made their destiny on their own”, but, how the environment around them also pushed them towards their success: Luck!
Very interesting and well written
Made me look at things differently. Very interesting.
This book brings a new perspective on the meaning of success. It will cause you to rethink the world you know, and second guess even your own theories. But it is definitely worth it if you want to expand your perspective on the stereotypical race to success.
This powerful book explains much that we take for granted. Especially appreciated Chapter 2, “The 10,000-Hour Rule.” Worth reading at least twice.
Gladwell positions one to investigate those things that are not the norm.
How we can be different and yet the same…Malcolm makes sense if it all!
Hands down, a book I still reference and recommend years after reading it the first time.
Outliers is an amazing book with great information. Very thought provoking.
Malcolm continues to amaze with his research and revelations.
This is a must read for everyone who wants to understand how to be great.
