RECOMMENDED FOR READERS 18 AND OLDER DUE TO STRONG LANGUAGE, SEXUAL SITUATIONS AND VIOLENCE.
This is Book 2 of 3 in the Nine Minutes Trilogy.
Out of Time is not a standalone novel. I highly recommend that you read my first novel, Nine Minutes, to be able to understand the background stories of the main characters. There are many twists and turns in both books that can best be connected if read … connected if read consecutively.
Although I do answer the outstanding questions from Nine Minutes, there is more to this story, and some readers may consider it a cliffhanger. If you do not like cliffhangers, you may want to wait until the third novel is released in 2016. Other readers may be satisfied with the answers and the ending. Regardless of which category you fall into, I hope you enjoy the story.
They thought with his execution it would all be over.
They were wrong.
The leader of one of South Florida’s most notorious and brutal motorcycle gangs has been put to death by lethal injection. Days later, his family and friends should have been picking up the pieces, moving on. Instead, they’ve been catapulted into a world so twisted and dangerous even the most ruthless among them would be stunned to discover the tangled web of deception, not only on the dangerous streets of South Florida but all the way to the top.
In this gripping follow-up novel to Nine Minutes, Out of Time takes readers from the sun-drenched flatlands of 1950s Central Florida to the vivid tropical heat of Fort Lauderdale to the halls of Florida’s Death Row as we finally learn the gritty backstory of Jason “Grizz” Talbot and the secret he spent his life trying to conceal.
Not even Grizz’s inner circle knows his full story—the tragedy that enveloped his early life, the surprise discovery that made him the government’s most wanted and most feared, and the depths of his love for Ginny, the tenderhearted innocent he’d once abducted and later made his wife.
Once Grizz’s obsession and now the mother of his child, Ginny has spent years grieving the man she’d first resisted and then came to love. Now remarried to Tommy, a former member of the gang, the pair have spent more than a decade trying desperately to live a normal existence far from the violent, crime-ridden world they’d once carved out on the edge of the Florida Everglades. For Tommy, especially, the stakes are high. Desperately in love with Ginny for years, he’s finally living his dream: married to the woman he never thought he could have. But even with the façade of normalcy—thriving careers, two beautiful children, and a genuinely happy and loving marriage—they can’t seem to put the past behind them. Every time they turn around, another secret is revealed, unraveling the very bonds that hold them together.
And with Grizz finally put to death, now Ginny has learned secrets so dark, so evil she’s not even sure she can go on.
Will these secrets tear their love to pieces? And how far will Grizz go to protect what he still considers his, even from beyond the grave?

It’s hard to put into words, when you’re describing a book that completely goes above and beyond your greatest expectations. I didn’t think it would be possible to top my #1 favorite MC book, Nine Minutes, but Beth really delivers with Out of Time.
When Nine Minutes ended, I was left broken hearted, and had a million questions I needed answers to. Thankfully, OOT picks up, right were Nine Minutes left off. OOT is a lengthy book, but it certainly didn’t feel that way while reading it. I was captivated from the moment I opened the book. I couldn’t read fast enough, and I didn’t want to put it down because I needed to know what was going to happen next.
Beth takes us on a mesmerizing journey, alternating between the present and the past. We are given a front row seat to the hell Grizz, Ginny, and Grunt endured as children. To say that their upbringing is tragic, is an understatement. My heart broke for all three of them, but it was Grizz’s childhood that brought me to tears. Knowing their back story really sheds light on the complexity of the characters, along with the how and why they have ended up where they are in life. It also helped to enhance my connection to the characters, and changed some preconceived notions that I had from the previous book. Another plus for me was being able to have the POV of the 3 main characters. It’s another way for me to understand what’s going on in their minds. I had so many moments in Nine Minutes, when I was just freaking out, and shouting WHY would you do that!!!!! Well now I know why!!! As their stories unfold, all my questions from the first book are answered, but in true Beth fashion, there are also some major plot twists that I did not see coming at all. So of course, I am left in complete and utter shock, and in NEED of more answers!!
I know I am being very vague in this review, but I do not want to reveal any spoilers. I can say, you will be utterly captivated, as you learn how Ginny moves forward in the wake of Grizz’s execution, the confessions from Tommy, and the other secrets she uncovers along the way. I’m convinced now more than ever, that Beth is a master storyteller. She has known from the very first book how this story was going to end, but she has methodically plotted and planned every detail in order to throw us off track. It’s like playing the game Clue. You may know who the players are, but you need to figure out the clue’s that are given to you along the way. Beth has turned many readers, including myself, into a Conspiracy Theorist. But the one thing we do know for sure is, time is never guaranteed, and love knows no bounds! I encourage everyone to experience this masterpiece.
5 bad a** stars… Words can not express how awesome this book/series is. So many revelations and still so many questions… Love how it dragged you in to their web and you don’t want to leave…. 2016 won’t come soon enough! Brilliant!!!! The first “triangle” that makes you root for both… Grizz. Grunt…. Team ?
Difficult to read at the beginning because of my personal prejudice, but I gave it a chance anyway and loved it!
Another series, worth the investment
Mind,,,,BLOWN
Fabulous story!
The second book of the Nine Minutes trilogy is told in multiple POVs spanning the 1950s to the present.
We learn about how both Grizz and Tommy came to be members of the Satan’s Army MC and how they both came to love Ginny (Kit). We learn much more about the complex story that Beth Flynn unfolds slowly throughout the trilogy. It’s an exciting and complicated story that is told along with the love stories of Grizz, Grunt, and Kit.
I wish I could do justice to this wonderful love story. It’s now one of my favorites and I feel that nothing I say can is good enough to share how excellent this trilogy is.
I highly recommend the Nine Minutes trilogy to those looking for a complex, slow burn love story!
4*
We return to the story of Grizz and Kit and find out more from both their childhoods.
Grizz is still obsessed with Kit and her feelings are growing. However not everyone is happy and someone is out to destroy everything. I loved the characters from book 1 and this book has had me hooked from start to finish.
Great book to read. This book keep you from the first page to the last page. Ginny in this book has to go though a hard time because of her and Grizz’s past. Grizz was in jail and on trail for what he did to her and killing people and other things. Ginny was getting told things she did not know about her past and what happen to others in the past. She found out somethings that she could not believe but she has to take in a lot of things and has to deal with her family.
I was so excited to read Out Of Time and get some things answered after Nine Minutes left me buzzing with questions….but for every question this book answered, I was given another mystery. Beth Flynn is definitely a master story weaver and I can’t wait to read the final book in this series.
Whew, if you thought book one was a wild ride – wait until you read book two.
Just wanted to state that this book is recommended for readers 18+ due to violence, strong language and sexual situations!
The lies….the deceit…the love…the passion…and I loved every page! There are so many twists and turns among the story of Grizz, Ginny and Grunt that my mind was reeling (but in a good way). This story is certainly not a smooth ride for any of the characters, so buckle yourself in for one Hell of a ride! Glad book three is all ready sitting on my Kindle, because I need more of this story asap!
This book is like going to a confessional . A purge of your sins , in a manner of speaking.
Grizz , aka Jason William Talbot is a King. He controls everyone from beyond his death. He truly comes across as Omnipotent being, protecting, threatening, negotiating and sending messages from his grave. The funny thing is , he’s vulnerable too. His undying, devotional love for Ginny /Kitten is his soft underbelly and the powers that be – NNG ( no name group) see that and strike there to maim him.
what is a never ending chronology of hairpin twists and curves in the life of Ginny and Grizz.
NOTHING is coincidental or ordinary. Whatever happened in Nine Minutes was just the tip of the iceberg. The calmness of the love story in book 1 hides the tsunami of emotions underneath the surface in book 2.
Beth writes so eloquently and the Web of deceit gets so larger than life that it takes a very very careful and thorough reading to not to miss vital details.
Each and every chapter is filled with WTF & OMG & No You Didn’t !!!!!!!!!
now on to book 3 (
