Just as readers have been transfixed by the stories, characters, and deeper meanings of Lewis’s timeless tales in The Chronicles of Narnia, most find this same allure in his classic Space Trilogy. In these fantasy stories for adults, we encounter, once again, magical creatures, a world of wonders, epic battles, and revelations of transcendent truths.Out of the Silent Planet is the first novel in … Silent Planet is the first novel in C. S. Lewis’s classic science fiction trilogy. C. S. Lewis is great! This particular book is no exception! His science fiction trilogy is excellent!
This is one of my favorites. Beautiful, impactful, leaving a lasting impression on me twenty years later. Though much of the plot eludes me over a score later, that warm and frenzied feeling of pure magic in those pages remains with me to this day whenever I see it on my book shelf. This is the first volume of Lewis’ science fiction trilogy. Each of them provides interesting insights into Lewis’ theological views and his understanding of God and human beings.
cool!
This is the first in Lewis’ amazing space trilogy, which explores deep spiritual truths in a “other worlds” setting. The action in the first two books all happens on distant planets: Malacandra (Mars) here in Book 1, and then Perelandra (Venus) in the second volume. Some of this tale is explicitly Christian (Perelandra is essentially the …
