All’s fair in love, war…and reality TVNothing ever came easy to Angie Russo. Hard work, loyalty, and sheer grit made her the kick-ass realtor she is today. But when her best still isn’t good enough, Angie decides to try something different. Maybe a stint on the new real estate reality show can give her the notoriety she needs to push her firm to #1. Her chances of winning the show’s prize are … chances of winning the show’s prize are high…until she meets the entitled, cavalier, and all-too-sexy jerk she’s competing against.
Angie’s big chance is King Hunte’s rock bottom. He screwed up big, and he needs money fast. The silly real estate competition should be a breeze to win. Or, at least it would be, if not for the sassy, determined, and ridiculously desirable Angie. King’s suddenly forced to work harder than he ever has, and he’s shocked to find that he actually enjoys it…almost as much as he savors the combustible chemistry he shares with his prickly co-star.
Just as Angie discovers there’s more to King than meets the eye, King realizes Angie could be the key to the life he’s always secretly wanted. When a ghost from the past emerges to threaten their future together, Angie and King must overcome the obstacles the show—and life—throw at them, or see their shot at love end before the first commercial break.

This was a fun and unexpected read. I enjoyed learning more about the Hunte Family
This is the second book in this series and just like the first it is fantastic. I love how the author draws you in right from the start and before you know it hours have gone by. This is an emotional story and I fell in love with the characters!
While I wasn’t expecting the second book to be Brax’s son, I definitely am not upset! I loved this story of Angie and King. King being the usual rich playboy, has a hard lesson when Brax cuts him off financially. So King try’s his hand at reality tv. Reality is, Angie is the perfect match for him. They have a great rapport on camera, which ultimately leads to some very steamy times for them! I enjoyed the characters and the story. Hope that future books give some additional building on these couples!
Humour and hot
Angie and King end up on a reality show involving real estate. In the beginning King is a real ass towards Angie. They banter back and forth and then feelings ignite between the two.Lots of feels and some humou
Loved this King and Angie were a great match, his growth was so good to read. I loved how they grew together, a great read with lots to keep you entertained. I would definitely recommend this.
This was certainly a very compelling read. I loved the competition between King and Angie, it really adds to the relationship and I wholeheartedly loved their interactions. It was banter filled romantic undertones and I loved how Arell Rivers writes the dialogue between her characters. The story of a spoiled rich kid getting his world flipped upside down and then having to learn how to survive on his own is so interesting and the romance that him and Angie have is so good. Overall, I highly enjoyed this read!

This book was so good!! As opposite as Angie and King were they totally worked! Their banter was great, chemistry hot! Their story was flawlessy written and heartfelt! Highly recommend!
King’s story is finally here. I didn’t know King would push his way into my heart the way he did. Angie was so relatable. I cried and felt her pain and heartache. This couple were made for each other without a doubt.
King Hunte has lived in the shadow of his father’s fame. So that makes him reckless and irresponsible. He’s not close to his dad but the way he lives (off his trust fund) has you believing that he will do anything to keep the money coming. Then reality sets in and King must figure out how to keep promises he’s made to the only family he feels he has in a college bound “little brother”.
Angie Russo is tough and will do whatever it takes to fulfill a bucket list she made with her soulmate. When a reality TV show makes her on offer, she’ll jump at the opportunity to give her agency the much-needed exposure. What she doesn’t expect is the son of rock royalty to be a part of it.
Out of the Shadow is beautifully written. All different kinds of emotions will be pulled from you. There’s drama, hope, and love. Easy to escape in to the Hunte family world.
Out of the Shadow is the second book in the Hunte Family Series. I absolutely loved the first book and was excited for the next. It did not disappoint! It is full of emotion, laughs, and a great story. I must admit I really didn’t like King for much of the beginning. But the author was able to bring the reader into his journey so you celebrated and loved him without even realizing. King and Angie’s story was wonderful book and I highly recommend it.
4.5 Stars
The scenes with just Angie and King are sooo good and just have this magic to them. Definitely my favorite part of the book. They both have scars they need to overcome and balance each other out very well.
King Hunte, is a self entitled man who has been living off his trust fund from his famous rocker father.
When his dad see a picture of him doing drugs with a friend and two barely dressed women, he cuts him off.
King, who is part of the Big Brother program, had promised his little brother help with college when he won a scholarship. The only problem now is he no longer has his trust fund.
When a friend offers him an audition on a reality real estate show, he decides he has to do it, so he doesn’t go back on his word.
So, for the first time ever, King is getting a job.
Angie Russo, is one of the hardest working women in the real estate world.
Her and her late husband had a dream of opening up an agency in Aroostook, and building it to being number one.
She had accomplished everything on their bucket list, but a few things.
She is hoping that this reality show will help with the rest.
King and Angie don’t get along, so when they are paired together for the camera it’s all bets off.
When Angie finds out King needs to get his real estate license, to be able to sell homes, he works really hard to achieve that goal and finds that he really likes it.
As the show goes on, things heat up and they both find something wonderful, in each other.
This is a very well written, with awesome characters and a very happy ever after.
I can’t wait for the next book.
Out of the Shadow is the first book I have read by Arell Rivers. In this book you King Hunte who is the son of a famous Rock Star. King is the guy who has it all, at least I thought he did. Looks can be deceiving as I got to know more about King’s past and present. His dad sees a picture of King doing drugs with his friend Trevor and cuts off his allowance. Now King has to find a job. Then you have Angie Russo who works hard for everything she has and everything she is trying to achieve in life. She has dreams and lists and a past she is desperately trying to hold onto. Angie owns a Real Estate Business but, it needs help. Angie decides that doing a Real Estate Reality TV show would help her get the notoriety she needs to push her firm to #1. King’s friend Baline told King he should try out for the co-star of the show. It turned out that King’s friend Trevor was also doing a screen test for the show but, King was selected for the part. King’s suddenly forced to work harder than he ever has. He was told he has to have a Real Estate License and he study’s hard for it. King is amazed that he is really enjoying it, almost as much as he is enjoying the chemistry he shares with his prickly co-star. Angie finds out that there is more to King than meets the eye. Angie does get to meet King’s dad. King realizes Angie could be the key to the life he’s always secretly wanted. Does King pass the Real Estate License test? Do King and Angie actually hit it off and maybe start spending time together away from filming? To find out you really need to read this book!! I truly loved this book and hope to read more about King and Angie!!
Who knew King Hunte wasn’t the LA Elite at ALL !! He wasn’t the stuck up type persona that the LA. crowd gets .. he just wants to be LOVED !! Because MONEY can’t buy you everything especially LOVE and a FAMILY .. ..
Angie Russo is just trying to get by day by day after her tragic past she needs to see the sunshine at the end of the rainbow. So when she tries out for a new TV series about Real Estate in the Hamptons because if she wins the money will save her Real Estate business, she doesn’t bank on her costar to make her universe turn upside down .. And that is what King does to Angie !!
Sometimes when life throws two most opposite people together they eventually find out that they do have so much in common .. You don’t need to read to far into the Hunte installment to fund a sexy, caring, fun loving character in King jus like his dad or Angie a quite, beautiful, spit fire with the family and love King is looking for and many e Angie can’t and will never be able to give him .. ..
This story in the Hunte family saga was FABULOUS !!
Out of the Shadow is book two in this series/ saga of the Hunte family. Though a part of the series, this is a stand alone, contemporary, with parts enemies-to-lovers and office romance mixed in. This book featured another couple and it starred Braxton’s son, King. If you had read the first book, then you would know that Braxton is a famous rockstar and will be making appearances in this story.
The story was told through King and Angie’s POV and we were shown an in-depth look at their personality. King grew up mostly with an absentee father and a self-absorbed mother. Growing up with money around him, he didn’t have to work a single day of his life for it. So when a scandal involving him reached his father, he was cut off from his trust fund. Frantic, he took the offer to audition for his friend’s reality TV show to earn money. Angie’s bucket list includes being the top real estate agent in Aroostook, if only she could beat the current title holder. When an opportunity to star in a reality TV show for real estate, she auditioned for a chance that this will put her agency’s name out there in the world.
I’ve enjoyed the bickering and competition that King and Angie shown in reel and real life. Though they were competing for the prize, they’ve tried to keep it friendly. They were instantly attracted but both have personal issues that prevented them from crossing the line. As they went through the show, they’ve come to know each other and were instrumental to their emotional healing. Overall, the story was fun, witty, full of life’s lesson and emotions, steamy, with a very good dose of romance. I loved it and can’t wait for the next Hunte’s story!
FROM HATERS TO LOVERS TO SOULMATES
This book had me disliking King for the longest as I knew the story of his father, Brax, and his stepmother, Sara. Him being a spoiled trust-funded baby had me thinking of how he was wasting his life and blaming his bad decisions on his father without trying to find out what had really happened as he grew up. His friends were on the shady side and one was a genuine leech. After getting cut off from his trust fund, he finds himself and began to see life and its reality. Angie got her life back with help from her sisters. I believe when King found what he believed family should be, he reformed and knew himself. There is a HEA. I fell in love with the epilogue and began to like King better. The BONUS chapter was very helpful and wonderful. Surprisingly, there were several shadows that the characters needed to get out from under.
I received this story for free and am giving my honest and voluntary review
Out of the Shadow is the second book in the Hunte Family series, and it’s a fantastic addition to the series. This is King and Angie’s story, and their journey is one of laughter and tears, and I fell in love with their story. The banter between them is funny and chemistry between the two is off the charts. The book was well written, with an excellent plot, storyline, and wonderfully developed characters. A definite must read!!
Out Of The Shadow is a brilliant follow up to the first book and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Being the son of a famous Rockstar has its ups and downs, and your first impression of King Hunte is that he is just a spoilt rich kid and he is not an easy guy to like. But as the book progresses you will discover just how wrong you are about him as we see a different side to King.
I love it when you read a book and it throws in twists that you didn’t expect and you see characters grow and become people that you Love.
I was engrossed from the start by King and Angies rollercoaster of a romance.
Meeting on a reality T.V show were they both need the money,so are competeing to win which leads to some memorable moments. This story had me laughing and crying in equal measure Arell Rivers is really excelling herself with this series and I cannot wait for the next book.
I Loved this book and I know you will love it too.
I highly recommend it.
Crying. Happy, sad, angry and any other kind of crying. I did it all. These two, King and Angie, are made for each other. Swooning! Did plenty of that as well. Of course there are characters that give you the heebie jeebies, or make you shake with rage and some give you the warm fuzzies. Great story from beginning to end!!! Can’t wait for the next one.
OUT OF THE SHADOW is book two in The Hunte Family series by Arell Rivers and centers around a realtor out to make her mark in the world and the son of rock royalty who has to learn to live in the real world for a change in this delightful enemies to lovers story.
For anyone who read the first book in the series, you will recognize King as rocker Braxton Hunte’s son, all grown up and entitled. He quickly showed his spoiled side and we had to really dislike him at first, but as time goes by he begins to emerge as his own person and steps outside of the stigma he immersed himself in for so many years.
Angie steps into the scene as strong willed, yet broken from the start. We know she has a heartbreak she’s trying to overcome, but we’re not sure exactly how it all went down for awhile. I liked Angie, but I also felt like she was too entrenched in the past.
I recommend this book to anyone loving a rediscovery from two broken souls. I’ll admit, after falling for Braxton in the first book of the series I wasn’t a huge fan of the bad light this book put him into for most of the time, but I did see King’s side of things too. I’m looking forward to more in the series!
Braxton has financially cut off his estranged son King for his own good. With the help of a friend, King ends up doing a reality real estate TV show. Never working a day in his life, his co-star Angie is annoyed & aggravated with his lack of seriousness. Angie needs this show to help her real estate business become successful. King finally takes it upon himself to learn the ropes & surprises himself by being a good agent. He’s also surprised by his attraction to Angie.
This was a great read about the son of a rock star finding his own identity & trying to build a relationship with his father. King grows up & faces a new reality – one that hopefully will involve Angie. Looking forward to reading King’s sister Melody’s book next!
