One impassioned argument. One dominating kiss. One unexpected moment that turns everything upside down. And that’s only the opening act.Rockstar Braxton Hunte is the type of chaos that makes your soul burn… Well, maybe he does—he’s never encountered a riff he couldn’t handle, a treasure he couldn’t score, or a woman he couldn’t conquer. No one, especially not a buttoned-down rule-follower like the band’s new tour accountant, is going to change him.
Accountant Sara Anderson is an unabashed stickler for the rules…
Sara’s worked nine long years to make partner, and only one thing stands between her and her goal—Hunte. Now she’s going on their tour to whip the band into financial shape. So long as she gets them out of the red, the promotion will be hers. Those bad boys of rock will be tamed, no matter how yummy their lead singer is.
When rebellion confronts discipline, fireworks explode.
Passions collide, and lives are permanently altered, in this enemies-to-lovers, slow burn standalone romance set in the mid-1990s—when grunge ruled the airwaves and women partners were as uncommon as those new mobile phones.

This is my first book by Arell Rivers and it won’t be my last, I enjoyed her style of writing and the characters in this book are very relatable. This is a book about a Rockstar from the 90 tees and an accountant, two people from two different worlds . You couldn’t get two people more opposit then Braxton Hunte and Sarah, but they soon find common ground and find a way to work together to sort the money situation out the band got them self’s into by over spending. The attraction between these two people is of the charts and they both eventually give in to their attraction but also face a lot of obstacles on their way which could destroy what they have, one being the ex wife and Braxtons son King. I really liked the banter Sarah had with the other band members, it made this book a very enjoyable read. If you want to find out what life was like for Rockstars in the nineties then this book is a must read. It has got romance, it’s realistic and very entertaining and at times unpredictable. I can’t wait for the next book to come out. I’m giving this book 4 and a half stars****
This book takes place starting in the mid 1990s. Hunte has been a household name since the late eighties. But when they haven’t had a top ten but in ten years and are steadily losing money, its time to make some changes. Enter accountant Sara Anderson. She’s been tasked with getting the band out Of the red. When the band it’s slapped with daily allowances they are not happy, especially lead singer Braxton. When Sara goes on your with them to curtail the spending. Things that happen may result in a broken heart. This book is certain a book filled with wild rollercoaster rides that only bands could produce. The drama is off the charts and so is the chemistry between Sara and Braxton. This book is amazing and so is the author.
Wow; Sara and Braxton truly grabbed my heart and kept the pages turning as I was mesmorized by this love story. As a reader you don’t know what to expect as their tale unfolds with twist and turns as the writer totally grabs your attention. As I read this tale unfold, it was hard for me to put this storyline down. I kept wanting to know more. Sara an Accountant and a career woman trying to make partner in her firm is given the task to curb the spending of one of their long existing accounts. She knows she is close to making her mark and become partner when she is sidelined with this account that noone in the firm has been able to master taking out of the rears and into a profitable account. To boot it is the infamous Braxton Hunte. The band Haute has always been a long time favorite of hers; she has swooned over Braxton and the music of Hunte for what seems like forever; She is not going to let that stop her from making partner. Braxton is a musician with a spending habit who acts more like a child then a man or is he? She is not getting her point accross by sending out memo’s of a new strategy on how the band can cut back and still come out ahead; she becomes the Accountant on Tour with the band. Not one accountant with the firm has ever done that before. She is taking the bull by the horns but has she bit off more then she can chew? Sara and Braxton’s story unfolds in away that in the end the writter has you fighting off tears; you will definitely need a Kleenex or several before the end of the book.
I highly recommend this book. You will be glad that you dove right into next favorite love story.
I was provided this Arc by the author. This review is strickly mine alone.
I adored Sara and Brax! They were complete opposites, yet perfect for each other. They take you on an emotional ride, but it was amazing. I also loved that this was set in the 90’s, so many little things brought up memories. It was very nostalgic.
I loved it, and I can’t wait for Kings story.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This is the first book that I have read from Arell Rivers and I know that it won’t be my last. This book was so good. I loved that it went back to the 90s. You were taken back to the past and if you are old enough to understand the 90, you will like the reminders. I was in high school during that time so I know what it was like having a beeper (I know I did). You had two strong minded people who you knew were going to butt heads when it came down to it. Brax for not wanting to follow the budget and keep partying the way he always did and Sara who needed him to follow the rules and wouldn’t back down for anything. They go back and forth through the whole book because neither wants to give up control. This book will give you all the feels. I can’t wait to read King’s story.
This is the first book I read by this author. As I read it I really liked it. Sara is the accountant that has to try to get Brax’s band out of the red because they don’t worry about how much money they spend. She tries to make them see they need to cut back & do other things to improve themselves. Brax also has a boy, King, that he doesn’t get to spend time with because of his schedule & his ex. He becomes intrigued by his accountant & things blow up due to his spending & not realizing his own people are hurting his bottom dollar. Then when Sara ends up pregnant he may end up missing out on another chance at being a dad.
I did a lot of fussing at these characters but they pull thru & not make me hate them as bad.
This was a little different take on the rockstar romance. I liked that it was set back in the 90s. There seems to always be an alpha male who is challenged by a woman who is sure of herself and her abilities. This definitely fits Brax and Sara. They could argue and banter, but I liked that she could read Brax and his insecurities, and was quick to try help him. Reading about the entourage was interesting, too. I liked that Sara was a fan of the band too, because she had some insight on their sound and looks, among other things.
Braxton is in a once popular band but they haven’t been pulling in the money like they used to. Sara is an accountant that takes on the task of getting the band out of the red. Braxton is not happy about someone telling him how much money he can spend and wants to continue to party and spend money like he has always done. He’s very strong minded but so is Sara. Has he met his match? They’re both very determined to have their way. Sara ends up going on the road with the band which is something no one has ever done. It’s a ride you’re going to want to take!!
This book is so well written and you get all the feels. It’s definitely a roller coaster ride with ups and downs. You may want to keep a Kleenex handy because you’re probably going to need it. This is one story you’re going to want to read!!

Ms Rivers did it again with this book. Brax and Sarah’s story are off the chart good. Got to keep that spreadsheet inline boys. Can’t wait to see what I next.
Braxton Hunte is arrogant, handsome and a rock star. He’s the lead singer of a band that has had some great #1 hits. But as in any band, if the music isn’t fresh then your fan base starts to dwindle. With success comes fortune but when the expenses start to become more than what’s available, it’s time for some budgeting. In walks, Sara Anderson. She’s Hunte’s newest accountant. If she can tame their spending ways, she might become partner in the firm she’s worked so hard for. Sara will do everything she can to fight the attraction she has for Brax Hunte but Brax is ready to try to tame Sara.
Out of the Red is fresh and playful. These two have their struggles but together they form a bond of friendship that both will realize isn’t for a season. There’s a reason these two are meant to be but which one will finally step up and claim the other. Beautiful story set back in the nineties, but it’s the Epilogue that’s the real bonus. I am already looking forward to the next member of the Hunte family.
The storyline was well written and the characters were so well developed that I remained totally engaged throughout the entire book! I look forward to reading more from this author!
I loved this story about Brax and Sara. Such a wonderful opposites attract, and when I read which real-life rocker Brax was inspired by, it made me love the story even more. Nobody does a rocker romance like Arell Rivers! Can’t wait to continue the Hunte family series!
4 1/2 STARS!
Exhilarating! Personalities clash and tempers flair when pandemonium meets restriction … but the dislike is only going to be able to hold out for so long once sexual chemistry starts to flair! Great characters, a compelling story line and lots of steam. Looking forward to more from the family.
It’s the 90’s, and rockstar Braxton Hunte refuses to believe he and the guys might just be on a downward spiral. Yeah, they might not be filling up stadiums like they used to and they haven’t had a #1 hit in quite some time, but they still have the fans screaming for more on a nightly basis … not to mention the ladies!
Accountant Sara Anderson happens to love Hunte’s music, but she’s less than thrilled when she finds out the client that has been the bane of so many before her’s existence is now her problem to deal with. She’s on the cusp of the promotion she’s been working almost a decade for and it’s going to be sewn up in no time … well, as soon as she gets this band out of the red for a change!
What a wonderful way to start a new series. I loved this enemies to lovers, rockstar romance. Brax and Sara were an entertaining couple to read from their feuds and banter in the beginning, that turned into passionate love for each other. I really enjoyed it and can’t wait for King’s story next.
I received an ARC and volunteered to leave a review.
Set in the 1990’s .This is the story of Braxton and Sara he is a bad boy rocker she is an accountant. I received an ARC for an honest review.
I received an ARC copy and want to leave an honest Review.
I absolutely loved Sara and Brax! I loved that they both had insecurities with themselves and their lives. Sara a orderly accountant given a task to get the band Hunte out of the red thinks out of the box and comes up with a plan to obtain the results she wants which could make her partner at the firm she works for. Can Sara tame Brax the wild lead singer in Hunte always spending big living the Rockstar life. You’ll have to read Out Of The Red to find out!!!! I was absolutely drawn into their story. The push and pull between them till they realize what it is leading to a happy ending!!!
I enjoyed this book. This author is still new for me so I don’t know what to expect, am I going to like the book or not?
I enjoyed it. I thought the characters were good and the story was good. A new storyline for me, not a usual rock star book.
I can’t wait for more!
The emotionally passionate love story of Braxton and Sara. I loved their fire and ice relationship and the slow burn along the way! If you want a book that gives you every SINGLE FEELING this is it. You will yell and scream at Braxton. You will cheer for Sara. You will LOVE them together. Definitely a must read from this rock star and his feisty accountant.
I had the pleasure of beta reading this book for Arell Rivers and it’s a whole lot of fun! The characters are great, from the brash, charasmatic Braxton to the rule-following Sara. When the sparks fly between these two what happens next is always fun and rarely predictable. I highly recommend this book.
Love, love, love this story!! Characters are about as real as you can get. Sara and Brax are complete opposites and are constantly butting heads. Crazy ex’s that should be slapped upside the head and of course, skeezy guys that make your skin crawl. Let’s not forget the hot as hell scenes in here as well!! Get out the fan and a tall cold drink, you’re gonna need them. This story also threw me back to the good ol’ 90’s and brought forward so many memories, both good and the “omg, what was I thinking?!”
I’m super excited to read King’s story next!!
