This is my first read from the author and I can definitely say that it will not be my last. Her style of writing, not to mention her awesome world building and easily relatable characters are more than enough reason for this girl to continue reading her next book, whether from this series or next project.
First off, this book is a major throw back to me from the 90s! Oh my goodness! I am such a fan of that era, especially the music scene. I was a high school/ college student and personally, the quality of songs that time cannot hold a candle to the sort of music we have now. There are some I love but still my heart will belong to that era. Just saying.
Now for the main characters, Braxton and Sara are two of the most opposite person you will ever meet. Braxton who is your favorite rock star: laid back, party ‘til you drop man whoring kind of guy. While Sara with her strait laced attitude, with a healthy love of rules and organization. Needless to say when this two meet, sparks will fly; arguments and butting heads will be afoot. But you know what they say; opposites do really attract and this two proved it but more. They complement each other, brings to the plate what the other seems to lack of and not surprisingly, make this relationship so much better.
I have enjoyed reading this book and highly recommend it!
This was my first book I’ve read by Arell Rivers and I’m hooked! I loved this story about a accountant that falls for the playboy rockstar . She lives in a world of order and safety and he is chaos and taking chances this is a beautiful well written romance story that takes place in the mid 90’s and I absolutely loved it!! Can Brax and Sara make it together ? This is a must read !! I received an arc for my honest review
Brax and Sara are not ment to be. They are the most extreme polar couple ever! But when the feelings and the hotties start to bloom they are an explosive couple.
Sara has all her life in paper, she knows her goals and the life she wants and no one can change those plans, not even her; but when she star cravings others goals and think about what the meaning of the real life she wants, she is brave enough to change it all and go for it.
Brax was a typical rock star. He spend money like there is no tomorrow and he hate Sara when she give them a daily budget. He missed his son but knows that if the band don’t tour they are over.
When Sara and Brax collide they gives each other hope, new expectations and they help one another to get what they really want and be the best for themself.
This is my first book of this author and is definitely not going to be last.
This story is so much more than your typical bad boy rocker meets good girl story. Braxton and Sarah have stolen the show with this one. Set in the 90’s, there are so many references that bring back great memories! Braxton and the boys have become the epitome of bad boy rockers and have willingly earned that title. Sarah is a woman who knows what she wants and won’t let anything, or anyone stand in her way. This story is a reminder that just because you have an end goal in mind, it doesn’t mean that’s what matters most, in the end. This story is about the journey. Making friendships where they we likely never to happen naturally. About believing in yourself and not letting what others say and think stop you or slow you down. Taking what you want and pushing to get it. Making sacrifices. It reminds me that sometimes letting go is the better option. Never giving up and never settling for less than you deserve. It also reminds me that even though we think it’s too late for certain things to change, it’s never really too late. We are responsible for the barriers that hold us back. We are the reason we succeed. Finding someone that believes in YOU and everything that you stand for is a bonus. But in the end we have to do things for ourselves. Absolutely loved these two and the whole gang!
I’m so in love with this story.
Arell, rocked it out of the stadium.
Braxton Hunte, aka rock star and name sake for his band, was popular in the 80’s and hasn’t had a hit in a long time.
Even though his band is playing small venues, he’s still trying to write that number one hit again.
Divorced and a father to an eight year old, he tours around with his band and they are spending everything they make and then some.
Sara Anderson, works for an accounting firm that handles the bands finances.
She had been tasked to get these guys too get their spending under control. To get them into the black instead of in the red all three time.
Others at the firm have tried, but to no avail.
If she can do it, she will be named partner in the firm.
She has worked tirelessly to achieve this goal and will do whatever it takes to make it happen.
When Sara, decides to go on tour with the band, she’s in for an eye-opener, as to the cost of traveling.
She gives each band member a budget to stick to, but finds she must change things up to make it more realistic to follow.
She is trying to look out for them, but they don’t all see it that way, especially Braxton.
Sara, likes order and Brax and his band are anything but orderly.
Through the chaos, they fall for each other and find their happy ever after.
A beautiful and well developed story.
I look forward to the continuation of this series, with Kings story this summer.
OMG!!! I just love Brax and Sara. Ms. Rivers really knows how to write awesome Rockstars.
I enjoyed the fact that in the beginning Brax and Sara didn’t really like each other. Sara, a buttoned up, super organized accountant with her life all planned out, had idolized Brax for years and had a huge crush on him but meeting him in person was a major let down. Brax was as Sara put it “a man-boy”. His life was always in chaos, he was used to doing what he wanted, when he wanted like a spoiled child. They had an immediate dislike of each other but over time came to admire came to admire, like and love each other. They turned out to be really good for each other.
Ms. Rivers, as in her previous works, made the characters realistic and endearing. It was easy to care for the major characters and want to know what happened next. I could not put the book down, staying up to 3:15 am to finish it. This is definitely a book I will read again and again. It had all the feels and of course a HEA. I know the next book in the series is set to continue with Brax’s son King but I really would like to see Brax’s best friend Colton get his own book. I really liked Colton even though he was a side character.
I am a true Arell Rivers fan. I’ve read all of Ms. River’s books thus far and look forward to reading her new works for a long time coming.
Another awesome read from this author. I love rockers and Braxton is my new favorite. He’s rough around the edges and misunderstood, but a big softy at heart if you ask me. Sarah needs a thaw and her new job as Hunte’s accountant may be the trick…to help both of them. But will things be hearts or flowers or will they get burned? A great read for anyone addicted to rockstars and romance mixed with a lot of emotions and drama.
Take a trip back in time! Out of the Red, written by author Arell Rivers, gives you the Braxton Hunte Story, a musician, which takes place in the 1990’s…think…land lines, tour buses, discman, hardly anyone had cell phones yet, internet wasn’t huge, and tabloids were our information stations!
When Sara Anderson’s final challenge by her accountant firm to make partner consists of getting the band Hunte’s account “out of the red”, she knew she had her work cut out for her. Easiest way to do this…go with them on the tour for a couple weeks…easy enough…right??? Even when she used to have the biggest crush on the lead singer, Braxton.
Braxton, really likes to blow money and doesn’t like to follow a budget! He is a man-whore and likes to have the entourage follow the rock band tour. He is hot and he knows it. His band was amazing…and he is determined to put them back on top!
The storyline of Out of the Red was great! The supporting characters (bandmates: Colton, Ricky, and Lex), Hunte’s Ex-wife (Hilary…and holy moly was she a beastie!!!) and their son (King) were all really well written. I really enjoyed this book by Arell Rivers and am looking forward to the next book in the series, KING.
A really enjoyable read, I loved how Sara and Brax both complemented each other. The story was a nice easy read and you couldn’t help but want them to be together, I’m excited for the next in the series…
I feel like I just read my favorite book of the year. This book has it all, humor, hot rocker and it’s definitely an emotional ride. I could not hardly put it down once I started reading it. I highly recommend this book!!
Out Of The Red is a rockstar romance that will have you moving to the beat as the connection between Sara and Brax takes hold. Their story is not always smooth sailing and comes with some huge crescendos that at times will leave you on the edge of your seat, not knowing if it will play out to a full house. At times these two will frustrate you with misunderstandings and miscommunications but there will never be a doubt that these two are nothing short of a number 1 hit when they get it right. A book packed full of adventure and witty moments that will capture your attention from start to finish. The heat from the passion that Brax and Sara radiate off the pages is nothing short of mind blowing.
This was my first Arell Rivers book. It won’t be my last! I really loved everything about this book. It included characters that were deep and real. I wasn’t sure how exciting a book about an accountant could be, but I thoroughly loved it. I can’t wait to read about the rest of the family!
One impassioned argument.
One dominating kiss.
One unexpected moment that turns everything upside down.
And that’s only the opening act.
Rockstar Braxton Hunte is the type of chaos that makes your soul burn…
Brax has been on tour for a decade, and some may say he swallows obstacles for fun. Well, maybe he does—he’s never encountered a riff he couldn’t handle, a treasure he couldn’t score, or a woman he couldn’t conquer. No one, especially not a buttoned-down rule-follower like the band’s new tour accountant, is going to change him.

Loved Brax and Sara’s story. Flawlessly written and heartfelt. Their journey wasn’t an easy one, I loved every single page of this book!
Out of the red is a must read opposites attract and there worlds come together to make and epic love story if you love rock star romances definitely read this
I received an ARC of this book for an honest review. I have also purchased a copy because I love it so much.
Two completely different personalities, Brax a spoiled rock star used to getting whatever and whoever he wants and Sara an accountant, a rule book follower who has been handed the bands account to do what no other member of her firm has been able to do get them “Out of the Red”! The problem is they have off the charts chemistry but neither is willing to compromise.
This book is set during the 1990’s which was fun. Once you start you can’t put this book down. Witty, sexy and hot, hot, hot! Can’t wait for the next book in this series!
Talk about a trip back in time! Out of the Red by Arell Rivers, is so much more than your typical bad boy rocker meets good girl story. Braxton and Sarah have definitely stolen the show with this one. Set in the 90’s, there are so many references that bring back great nostalgic memories.
I really loved this story! I especially enjoyed the nostalgia of revisiting the 90s. There were so many great references that took me back in time. The characters are wonderful – likeable, relatable, and real. Brax and Sara are complete polar opposites who clash throughout the book. Their chemistry is palpable and undeniable. Together they are explosive! This was a fantastic story full of witty banter, twists, surprises, and so many feels. I can’t wait to read what comes next!
I really enjoyed this story. I was hooked from beginning to end. Sara and Brax are complete opposites in the best way possible.
I couldn’t put this book down, it took me less than a day to read it. It was so so good. Braxton is a rockstar but can he be tamed by Sara? Sara has big plans but do they include Braxton? You definitely need to pick this book up but make sure it’s a rainy day cause you won’t get anything done. I can’t wait to read more about the Hunte family.
What a great story! Take this journey back in time to the 90s music scene with Brax and Sara. Out of the Red is a fun, slow burn romance between two stubborn, career driven overachievers who never feel like they are good enough. They lock horns and lock lips as they try to fight their unlikely yet intense attraction but that’s just the beginning! Through the arguments, the friendship, the passion and the tears, you will love and root for these characters!
Great first story for what is to be a series. We meet the band of course, which includes Brax. Sara, in her run to make partner at an accounting firm, decides to join the band on the road to reign in their spending. Wha5 she doesn’t plan on, in her neat and orderly life, is to fall into bed with Brax. These two have some serious sparks and the perfect personalities to pair up in this story. I enjoyed the story line and characters. Definitely interested to see which story comes next for this band!
