For Nova, a twenty-three-year-old survivalist, wandering a barren wasteland was a lonely existence. But her day-to-day life was about to drastically change forever. Gone were the days when her only worries were rabid animals, augmented humans, the unforgiving scorching sun, and rogue watchmen. Now, Nova found herself faced with a new threat, and he was tall, grey, and horribly stubborn. For Kol, … stubborn.
For Kol, a two-hundred-year-old daredevil, sailing the never-ending waves of deep space was a vast and thrilling life to lead. He had one objective on Earth—rescue as many human females as possible and return them to his home planet. It was supposed to be simple, but no one told Kol that a human female’s tongue could slice a male like a blade. His charge was short, strikingly attractive, and she talked way too much.
Nova wasn’t going to be kidnapped without putting up a fight, but Kol was more than ready to go toe to toe with her. These two species set out on a collision course that would redefine the phrase “The Big Bang” forever.

Review:
I was very excited about this book, I really was in the mood to read a book like this and I really wanted to love it. I did enjoy reading this book, allot, but I didn’t love it. There where things that where different than I was expecting. For example I wished it took Nova and Kol a bit longer to get together. Nova went from hating him and fighting him to being in love with him within a week.
I expected the book to be more about them getting together. I think the book could have been allot sorter and still get the point across. It got a bit long at times.
The side characters and world building where great though. I really hope to see more books in this series.
What is this book about:
Years of abusing the earth has finally done it. The climate changed so much that it’s irreversible and caused the earth to become inhabitable and it’s dying. People are trying to do what they need to survive. Some made themselves into living robots/android, enhancing anything about themselves. This didn’t work out great either as some hackers messed with the technology causing all the enhanced to turn against humans and turned the world in a hunger games. It’s save to say it was a huge massacre.
Years later Nova is one of the few people that are still surviving on the Earth. A Few years back a alien race visited the earth, called the Maij. Nobody really knows what they wanted back then, but they seemed to be back. After an unlucky encounter Nova gets face to face with the Maij. The last thing she remembers is thinking their faces will be the last she sees. Only for her to wake up on their space ship taking her away from earth. Nova doesn’t handle being kidnapped well, she is used being on her own and surviving in her own way. She is used to being in control and that’s been taken away from her. That becomes even more clear to her when she realizes why the Maij really came to earth…
What did I like about this book:
I liked the concept and the world building. Lots of time and effort went into it and it showed. I liked the banter between Nova and Kol. While Nova was strong and knew how to survive she was also very stubborn, judgy and quick to run. She didn’t trust easy and didn’t make it easy for the people around her and ultimately herself.
As I said above I do think the relationship between her and Kol went way to fast. That didn’t feel realistic for me. I can understand Kol as his species are more primitive in the way of really being Alpha’s and stuff. But Nova caved quite fast. I expected, no wished it went more slowly. She also mentioned not wanting to be someones show pony and wanting to do things for herself but she didn’t really do what she said she wanted to do. That was a bit disappointing to me.
Overall great book. Loved the characters and side characters. And I would love to see more books in this series
