After years of war, Lincoln Sheppard thought he’d left the violence and ugliness behind. He was content with the life he built for himself. Then the woman down the street came in and shook everything up.All Eden Brenner ever wanted was to have a place to call home. She finally found that in Hope Valley. Then she went and fell in love with the man a few houses down the first time she laid eyes on … laid eyes on him. There was just one problem. Women like her didn’t catch the attention of men like him. He was totally and completely out of her league. And to make matters worse, when her past comes knocking, the beautiful world she’s built for herself is at risk of crumbling to the ground.
When danger forces Eden into his arms, Lincoln begins to see her in a whole new light, and he suddenly finds himself wanting things he never expected. And he wants them all with the shy, clumsy woman from down the street. But when the truth comes out, that proves nearly impossible. Now he’s fighting the hardest battle of his life, and the stakes are higher than ever. Protect the woman he’s falling for while trying to win her heart at the same time.

I loved this book by Jessica Prince and love the “new direction” she’s going with her writing. Alpha Hero who wasn’t quite sure about the heroine in the beginning, who fell head over heels for her. When he screwed up, he did it big, but went out of his way to show her that he wasn’t going anywhere. I can’t wait for the next in the series! Definitely will b e a re-reader for me.
I love the twists Jessica Prince uses to keep us guessing!
WHEW!! Eden & Lincoln’s story was FABULOUS! Their chemistry’s perfect, and altho Lincoln starts off as a selfish jerk in some aspects, his heart is always shining through. I adored both main characters (and Rocky) and the supporting cast.
The writing is smooth (and gave off awesome KA vibes – y’all know when you get that feeling? I got that feeling, and it was wonderful!), the pacing is very well done, and the story balanced perfectly with introducing characters I’m looking forward to seeing get their own stories as the series progresses. There’s action and friendship, complicated family matters, and an ending that gave me a HUGE smile to along w/ Eden’s!
As for Eden & Lincoln – banter, fun, steam & sass – they get a big thumbs up & this story is a definite 2019 recommendation!! : )
A new small town romance with a twist from Jessica Prince.
A small town contemporary romance with a twist!
WoW! What a great book ! It was amazing adventure with this author !!! Characters with the plot seduced me from the begining… I liked everything. Mrs Jessica Prince sucks me in compeletely with Eden and Lincoln’s story.
When I started reading, I couldn’t put this book down. From page to page I was waiting breathlessly what happen next. I liked very much, that Out of My League by Mrs. Prince was a little different that I’ve read from her. Slow burn, steamy moments, great characters and specially place make this book unforgetable.
Eden is one of my favorite girl’s types… She’s not too young, she proud and knows exactly what she wants from life. Eden is also very, very brave, she had courage to change her life compeletely without any help… She’s perfect girl to admire, because among some very tough things in her life, she was strong enough to fight for her better tomorrow. I was only sad sometimes, my heart was aching even, that this pure and sweet girl is so lonley… However… Mrs Jessica gave my girl good company – Lincoln, the sexy one… I’ve started to feel better beacuse, thanks to him “I saw the light” . Maybe he wasn’t only good boy from the start, but still… Lincoln just steal my heart . He was so manly, but also quite soft for Eden too. For me they were perfect match from the beginig.
I hope that my journey with this series just began. I want to read more about every person, that I known in first part .
Highly recomended title !
Lincoln had his life in order, he had women when he wanted and a job that he loved so what else did he need? That was answered when Eden moved in two doors down. Eden had lived a hard life and was just trying to separate herself from the hell that was her family. When her past comes home and draws her into danger the person she turns to is the hot neighbor two doors down. Wow I love this story so much. Lincoln was such an alpha and Eden was a sassy and strong woman who had more strength in her than she truly knew. This story weaves around the reader and draws you in and make you never to want to stop reading. I highly recommend this book, series and author.
I found this author/book entirely by accident, and I am so glad that I did! This book had me wanting more and not putting it down. I am so glad my mistake found me a new author to love.
Lincoln Sheppard moves to Hope Valley after retiring from the Marines. He follows one of his “brothers-in-arms” and starts a security company. Linc is not looking for forever in any of the women he hooks up with. He is just looking for some fun and no-commitment.
Eden Brenner finally found her “Forever Town”. She moves to Hope Valley to escape the horrible childhood that she hopes to leave far, far, behind her and live a peaceful, fulfilling life.
Hope Valley is a quiet, peaceful town until a string of robberies start plaguing the small town. The only suspect they have is Eden’s older brother. Linc is asked to get close to Eden and see if she is connected to the case. While he starts to get close to her, he starts to fall for her smile and see that she brings light into his life. Eden finds out that Linc was asked to get close to her to find out about her brother, she dumps him, FAST. Can Lincoln convince her that it may have started out as fake but turned real FAST? Can Lincoln keep her safe from the mess he brother got into?
I enjoyed the start of this new series. While I agree with some of the reviews that Lincoln was an ass and a manwhore and that Eden too easily fell in love with someone out of her league, but I feel that Jessica Prince did give Eden a backbone. As a healthy sized girl (someone who ran between 10-14 sizes), I understand where Eden’s thoughts came from. I too have fantasized about the hot guy who got all the “skinny” women. Yes, Lincoln was portrayed as a manwhore who didn’t notice Eden until she was right there in front of his face. But I hate to say it, most men don’t notice things until it is right in their face and even then they don’t. I like how Jessica Prince made her characters very, very, real. I look forward to reading the stories of the other people in town.
Lincoln and Eden..sigh. Eden is trying to escape her past and lands in Hope Valley. Great supporting characters push these two characters together, and there are some road bumps on the way. Eden is spunky and a likeable heroine, and Lincoln is every bit the hot alpha male that gets sucker punched out of his womanizing ways by his building feelings for Eden. Great mix of Hotness, suspense, and characters that you just plain want to know more about!
CAn Eden rebuild her life in Hope Valley and find happiness and love? She is making friends and enjoying life for the first time after a difficult childhood with a very broken family. But when her brother comes to town she’s is going to face very dangerous people. CAn Lincoln, her handsome neighbour,ex-army and now in private security, help her and show her what true love is?
Out of My League by Jessica Prince is the first book in her Hope Valley series. This is Lincoln and Eden’s story. Lincoln is the owner of a security and Private investigation company in town and Eden just moved to Hope Valley and has finally found her forever home in this peaceful town. But things don’t stay peaceful for long…
Lincoln and Eden are neighbors but while she has noticed his fineness since she first laid eyes on him, she has passed under his radar. With a bevy of gorgeous, stick-thin females passing through his revolving bedroom door he never takes the time to notice the quiet, curvy beauty in the baggy clothes that lives a few houses down from him. That is, until his rescue dog escapes and makes Eden his new best friend. What starts as friends, turns into more while the whole town is in a tizzy over a recent string of burglaries that has taken place in this previously almost crime-free town. When someone is murdered the police and Lincolns team are looking at anyone and any thing even the new resident in town, Eden.
Emotional, with an undercurrent of danger and angst, steamy, funny, and with a wonderful secondary cast I wan’t wait to read more about in future books, this book was AWESOME. My first by Jessica Prince but absolutely NOT my last. Enjoy!
I am a big Kristen Ashley’s fan so I’m always on the lookout for books of other writers who write in a similar way. I read somewhere that this book ‘Out of my league’ was one of those book so I decided to read it and see for myself. And yes, I can understand why people would compare it to KA. It does have a light KA feel to it.
Eden had a difficult childhood, which made that she’s uncertain about her looks and she’s shy. After years of looking for it, Eden has finally find a little town that feels like a home to her and slowly she’s making friends. But there is one man in her new hometown, who has catched her interest from the very first glaze, her neighbour Lincoln. Hot, handsome alpha Lincoln. Sadly, Eden knows from watching the many women that has left his front door that she isn’t his type. But then suddenly one day, Lincoln takes an interest in her and makes Eden the happiest woman in the world but is everything like it seems? Is Lincoln being honest? And what will happen when her past comes back to haunt her?
This was the first book that I read from the writer Jessica Prince. ‘Out of my league’ is a good story. There were a few things in it that I (personally) thought were a bit over the top, but they were just little things. Like the fact that almost all the guys in this book were very handsome and I personally found that Eden did ‘giggle’ a lot. But expect for these little things, I did enjoy the story. Lincoln was an alpha man that I didn’t really connected with in the beginning of the story but I did like him more and more during the story. Eden was a bit of a contradiction I thought, in some ways shy but in others she was sassy. But she had a kind heart.
It’s an easy to read story with some fun and steamy scenes. The story is told from both POV’s. I’m looking forward to the next book in this series.
I loved this small town romance! The fact that it is the first in a new series by Jessica Prince has me dancing for joy! Eden and Lincoln kick off the series. She is new to town and kinda shy and Lincoln is a sexy alpha that runs his own security company. She thinks he is way out of his league but she’s really a kick ass chick who is perfect for him…even if he doesn’t see it right away. I couldn’t put the book down! The storyline flowed well and I loved all of the characters. I cannot wait for more of this series!
OMG! I thought Sweet Sunshine was my favorite book by Jessica Prince, but Out of My League is giving it a run for its money. First, let me say that I fell in love with Hope Valley as much as Eden did. I love this authors ability to make you fall in love with the small towns her characters end up in. I really loved Eden and felt a strong connection with her. She is sweet and shy with a touch of feeling less than in every way. She carries the weight of her families mistakes and feels tainted by them. Eden is very adorable, kind, caring, and at times a little dorky is the cutest way. I loved seeing her transform into the woman she wanted to be. The relationship she had with Nona was so cute and funny. The banter between them was hysterical.
Lincoln was also a alpha male to his core. I really fell in love with this perfect man. He is such a good man that it makes you go stupid swoony. He has some serious honorable traits and is a genuinely good man. Each new thing Eden learns about Lincoln had me falling for him as much as she was. I think he is my favorite hero Jessica has ever written. Seeing him getting to Eden made my insides go gooey. Lincoln and Eden have some explosive chemistry and they are truly perfect for one another.
From the first page of this book I was already falling love with Jessica’s writing. She truly has a way with words. This story is sweet and will melt your heart with its beauty. What a great way to start 2019.
Oh, Eden. I loved her so much. She’s spent her whole life trying to outrun the reputation and reach of her horrid family. She thinks that she finally made it far enough in her new town, only to find that she’s still judged based on her blood and not her own merit.
Lincoln has been tasked with helping to determine why Hope Valley is seeing a rash of burglaries, and all signs point to his cute, quiet, awkward new neighbor being involved somehow. He decides to get close to Eden to gain some answers, only to find himself falling for her for real. Unfortunately, Eden finds out exactly how she was used and retreats to hide her pain and shame. After all, she knew this beautiful man was out of her league and that it was just a matter of time before it all comes crashing down on her head. Lincoln isn’t giving up, though. He’s finally seen what happiness can truly be with a woman and he’s not about to let Eden go.
Add in an unsolved murder, criminals coming out of the woodwork, Eden being at the center of the mess, and Lincoln pushing Eden in the funniest, most annoying way to forgive him, and you’ve got the beginning of what is sure to be an entertaining, must-read series!
This was an entertaining read I picked up thru KU. I am new to Jessica Prince books. Now I am hooked and looking forward to continuing this series. Out of My League focused on Eden who is a newcomer to town looking to put down roots. When trouble comes to town, her sexy neighbor, Lincoln, makes it a priority to ensure her safety. Prepare for a little suspense towards the end just to twist things up a bit. I appreciate that the characters in the book are mostly 30s/40s when so many stories in general are people in their early 20s. I would recommend this book and can’t wait for the next.
Overall, I really enjoyed Out of My League! It started out relatively slow for me, but I found that I could relate with Eden right from the beginning. I liked how strong she was, how she worked how to separate herself from her dysfunctional family, and that while she didn’t have the best self-esteem, she was comfortable with her own character. Lincoln wasn’t a character that I particularly cared for at the beginning of the story- he was a bit egotistical for my liking- but I respected his growth as his story with Eden progressed.
I will most definitely continue reading books in Jessica Prince’s Hope Valley series!
Great book.
I really enjoyed this. Eden’s first impression may be a shy, quiet mouse, but that is not the real her. She had such a fire inside. I loved her attitude when it came to her brother! I was cheering internally.
I will admit that Lincoln mad me a bit mad at the beginning. I knew it wasn’t going to end well when Eden found out why he initially approached her. But I settled down because you could tell he was being genuine. Great romance and a little bit of intrigue. Can’t wait for the rest in the series!
