Christa is living a good life, her dream of playing on the women’s national baseball team is close and she loves her landscaping job. But when a psycho stalker sets his sights on her, she might lose everything. Rayne is a playboy and a cop. He has known Christa for a couple of years, her best friend is married to his best friend so they have hung out together. When he finds out about her stalker, he aims to protect her himself but she is independent and doesn’t like to lean on anyone. As the stalker becomes bolder, Rayne will do everything in his power to keep her safe.
Awesome story with suspense and action. A stalker, a cop, and a women who doesn’t realize how great she really is. This book drew me in from the very first page. You feel sorry for Rayne because no one believes he can fall in love and Christa for all the crap she goes through.
This book opens at one of Christa’s softball games. There are scouts there and she’s hoping to make the National Team and head to the Olympics. She’s also noticed a fan who’s beginning to be more of a stalker. It bothers her that his comments can break through her concentration on the game, but when he waits for her and follows her to her car she’s more than a little concerned.
She heads to her best friend’s instead of home because of the creepy feelings left by the guy. Teryl and Drew are very protective of her after her last break up so when she offers Rayne a ride home that instinct comes to the fore. Christa however really likes Rayne and he certainly wants to know her better.
The dinner party for all her friends takes a turn and it becomes just Rayne and Christa. Totally not a bad thing, but when the conversation turns to her stalker Rayne is more than willing to attend a game to evaluate the situation. A situation that escalates when Christa is injured during the game.
Between the stalker’s moves and the mutual attraction between Christa and Rayne, I couldn’t stop turning the pages.
Intrigue, suspense, romance, sizzle and so much more!
What a fantastic start to a series. This book took me by complete surprise and swept me away into their world, refusing to let go even after the final page.
With lovable characters and a gripping plot, I definitely recommend.
What a thrilling story. You never really know when that sicko strikes again. Rayne doing everything in his power to keep the woman he fell in love with during their “forced vacation” save. And when Seth finally makes his move all hell brakes loose and it’s up to Rayne to aim his rifle… A very awesome stoty that not only deals with stalkers and their morbid plans but PTSD as well. A very Kaylea- style book I very much enjoyed reading.
Bsiley snd Rayne are both strong characters
kaeyla writes good books with alpha males and strong women. have been reading her series good reads
Her books are gritty- including this one. However I found it to be compelling- enjoyed it.
