Michelle Baron should be reveling in her new life in Sandy Cove, Oregon. From the outside, it all looks idyllic. A newlywed settling into a quaint coastal town, her husband establishing himself as a junior partner in a law firm—what more could she want?
But a series of disturbing nightmares haunts Michelle. Her quest to understand these dreams leads her to the New World bookstore, where she … she begins a spiritual journey that will challenge her Christian heritage as well as her marriage.
Captivating characters, suspenseful story lines, and thought-provoking themes—bestselling author, Rosemary Hines crafts gripping, and at times poignant, tales of the challenges Christians face in contemporary culture. Known for her realistic portrayal of life and her sensitivity in tackling tough topics, her novels examine issues such as the prevalence of New Age beliefs and practices in today’s society, the tragedy of suicide in families of all walks of life, the struggles of children from broken homes, the heartache of infertility as well as unwanted pregnancies and abortions, and the difficulties of aging. Never preachy but always leading the reader to a message of hope and redemption, Rosemary is a committed follower of Christ. The novels of the Sandy Cove series—Out of a Dream, Through the Tears, Into Magnolia, Around the Bend, and From the Heart convey profound Christian messages that touch hearts and impact lives. Refreshingly honest and true to life, the characters resonate with readers and become their friends, and the stories transition seamlessly from one novel to the next.
“Out of a Dream quickly introduces you to characters that parallel people in our own lives. Shaped by traits that enhance the plausibility of the plot, you could swear that you’ve met them all before. This novel resonates with the theme of how people often go looking for love in all the wrong places when seeking spirituality. The beauty here is that although some explore false approaches to knowing God, there is hope for everyone who diligently seeks the truth.”

I loved the faith of a few that could bring the others to God in a way that was both tragic and real to life. God is amazing in his use of others in our lives. He uses our circumstances to bring us to him.
Right after the last page of this book I ordered the 2nd one.
Kept my interest love the Christian aspects, ending could have been better but not bad it just leads to another volume to buy. Most interesting is that it is based on the author’s life.
This book is very relevant. There is one way to God yet so many roads that advertise a different path to “find yourself and your own truth.” The Deception is subtle and deadly. This book takes a look into the heart of several people on different paths and revealed once again that there is one truth…Jesus is the Way and the Truth that leads to …
Great story about a person’s quest to find a way to fill that spiritual void we all have or did have. The characters are well written and you care what happens to them. It gets only a four, instead of a five, because the fate of an important minor character is unresolved at the end, forcing you to buy the next book in the series to find out …
I loved this thoughtful and inspirational book! I found the life progression of the main character to be very realistic and relevant in today’s world.
Another good one!
This book was disturbing to start. I had registered under”Christian Fiction” and the beginning seemed consumed with Eastern Religions. Never fear, there is a purpose and it definitely is “Christian fiction”. I am now on to the second book I’m this series
Love this series
Very deep Christian book explaining Christ in our lives and putting our faith in Him.
This first book in the author’s Sandy Cover Series sets the stage for the rest of Hines’ books. Very enjoyable read.
What i I liked best was that there are several books and I liked being able to connect with the characters over and over again, seeing them through trials over the years of their lives.
The best part was the last few chapters
I loved how the main character goes through the agony of trying to figure out God and comes to meet the one true God. Everything changes!!
Good book, shows the struggle people go through trying to find their way.
Rosemary Hines has a similar writing style to Karen Kingsbury and if you like Kingsbury’s books, you will love this series.
I have been thoroughly enjoying them. They teach Christian truths in a non-preachy way.
I have enjoyed all of the books in this series that I have been able to read. Believable characters with realistic but inspiring faith journeys.
