I’m not saying Henry jinxed us when he chose to send out two hundred holiday cards stating we were going to have a blissful Christmas at home… Before we knew it, our peace and quiet went out the window, and we were headed to Mexico for a photo shoot my agent had neglected to tell me about. Of course, we had to deal with the man who didn’t want us to be together, and then we ended up back in LA, … back in LA, and we had to figure out what was going on with my brother, and, and… Okay, deep breaths. FYI, Philadelphia is nowhere near our home in northern Washington. Additionally, I wonder how Viagra really works, and what’s it gonna take to get a proposal around here?
Honestly. I’m not saying Henry jinxed us, but I’m writing the damn card next year.
Warning: This story contains more sugar than the cookies you leave for Santa, and it’s chock-full of greetings and updates from other characters written by Cara, titles including Noah, Home, Path of Destruction, Uncomplicated Choices, and more.
(A 40k words long Christmas-themed sequel to Out. Not a standalone.)

*A holiday themed little treasure*
What was supposed to be a relaxed and quiet month away from the stressing modeling job for Zach, meant to be spent together with Henry in their new home in the woods of Camassia Cove, turns out to be getting into one disaster after the other.
Was it really the two hundred christmas cards that Henry wrote?
We will never know ; )
Follow Zach and Henry on their next adventures right before Christmas from visiting Mexiko (and finally revealing a dishonest friend), trying out Viagra (oh dear, this was really not their best idea), having to track down Mattie in Philadelphia, meeting with Martin in LA and having an unexpected really special romantic evening, to finally coming home to Camassia Cove for Christmas and spending the holidays with all their loved ones.
The more „Camassia Cove“ books I read, the more it feels like visiting old friends. Even here, we meet again with Noah&Julian (whose story I still have to read), Dominic, Adrian&Thea, Casey, Ellis, Haley&Theo and finally Lincoln&Adeline.
Make sure to have read their stories too
I enjoyed reading Out so I decided to read Out For The Holidays and it was so good to read more of Zach and Henry.
Sweet read where Zach just wants to spend time with his family for the holidays but things just keep getting in the way.
Such a fun story and a great follow up of these characters.
I very much enjoyed Out and loved this epilogue / holiday story that truly completed Henry and Zach’s journey. The story was sweet, sexy and full of the wonderful emotions that you’ve come to expect between the two main characters.
I loved this more than Out!
Oh wow! I loved Out but this just had me laughing and smiling from the get go. I wanna smack the poop outta Joseph though. Jingle balls!! He he! And oh my goodness Zach is so cute with kids.
Its been left with an ending to continue it so I look forward to Cara’s next installment of Zach and Henry.
I loved Henry and Zach in the first book Out..and could not wait for this book to come out to continue their journey. These two together are amazing but then you throw in the “crew” and it’s magic. This book takes place a little over a year after Out and all Zach wants is the Perfect Christmas..peaceful, joyful, and full of the ones they love. Everything kinda starts off ok but things keep getting off track and/or in the way. I don’t want to say too much and give the story away but this book will definitely make you laugh till you cry, burn to the ground because of the heat, and make your face hurt from smiling at the love and relationships between these characters. This is definitely a Cara Dee addition you do not want to miss!!
This is a lovely sequel to Out. If you haven’t read that book, you should. This book can’t be read as a stand-alone, and you will appreciate the story so much more. I am so happy that Cara Dee decided to write this sequel. Henry and Zach are such great characters, and I loved reading more about them.
It is like spending time with old friends. In Out we were witness of the slow-burn journey of Zach and Henry. Both had their fears and doubts, but in this book, there is no trace of that. They are in a loving, committed relationship. Zach is totally gay and completely in love with Henry. He is as sassy and snarky as ever. That didn’t change, thankfully. Henry has become so much more confident in his love for Zach, although he is so much older. It was absolutely no issue in this book. Henry can hold his own against Zach, and you can feel he is head over heels for his man. Their sex is hot as ever, sometimes a bit on the kinky side, but always with so much love.
Mattie and Ty also make their appearance, and I am so glad that Ty redeemed himself, and now he is a warm and caring person.
My favorite person of Out, Martin, doesn’t feature in this story much, but when he is, he is hilarious and sweet at the same time.
It is a delightful story, full of witty humor, steaming sex, and emotional scenes.
Excellent novella! The perfect follow up to Out. I had enjoyed Out so much that I was thrilled to see this novella. It exceeded my expectations.
Lots of hot scenes, some slightly more kink and chemistry like nothing else! As much as Out had made me laugh, this really brought the humor. The author did an excellent job balancing out different snapshots of their life and giving us glimpse into secondary characters as well.
Since this is Cara Dee, it’s not one-dimensional so even with lots of sexiness and laughter, there are actual storylines. Whether it’s equality, family, overall support loved ones or the community in general, there’s plenty to go around. The author really can drive home lessons without it being a lecture. It was beautifully written.
5 Stars for a sexy yet hilarious read with so much more!
There aren’t enough stars!!! I loved this story! There was so much in the way of humor, hotness, honesty, confrontations, snark, heart, love, sexiness, sexy times, revelations, settling, growing, feels… Just pure awesome. I can’t tell you how many times I had to turn my head into the pillow to laugh or squee so I wouldn’t wake up my kids or husby since most of my uninterrupted reading takes place at night. I didn’t want to be interrupted and was so glad I wasn’t because it allowed me to read the book twice, that’s right, twice. So tired the next day, but so worth it.
We got to know Zach and Henry really well in Out and that’s where I first fell in love with them. Henry’s tenderness, nurturing, affection, care, concern, and sexiness. Zach’s exuberance, acceptance, growth, change, love, boldness, devotion, and humor. Together they make such a perfect pair with neither one more or less than the other. They’re sweet and genuine and hot together. My review for that book goes into a bunch more detail so this review might not really be spoilers for Out but it’s way better to have read that book first.
Zach is finally getting to spend time with Henry and his family for Christmas. His career is taking off and is becoming so much that he wants to make some serious changes. With some decisions made after Henry’s input and concern he’s ready for his well-earned down time. Until Brooklyn calls. Cancún for December would be anyone’s idea of an awesome vacation but for Zach it’s so not welcome. Until Henry says he’ll make it worth his while…
A beach paradise is turning out to be a great diversion for them and Zach takes a few chances with his job and it pays off allowing him to be more genuine in his delivery and career in general. Things are looking up! And then Joseph inserts himself, yet again, between them.
I was expecting snark, I was expecting drama, I was expecting fireworks. What I wasn’t expecting, was quiet, subtle, calm honesty. What I wasn’t expecting was a witnessed scene in the bedroom. What I wasn’t expecting was the perfection of the moment.
With the Joseph chapter finally, mostly, at an end we get a bunch of family moments that bring us even deeper into their lives. Mattie and his struggles with school and something else that he’s not ready to talk about, Zach’s magnificent snark in Ty’s defense, helping out at the shelter, Zach’s confession about family expansion, Henry’s moment during their walk after dinner with Martin, Martin and Nan in the kitchen with sherry… All of it brings us into their lives, their hearts, and we never want to leave.
“I shrugged and grinned. I’m a power slut for you, man.”
“That’s priceless,” Julian laughed.
I finally got Henry to crack a smile, even as he tried really hard not to.
“I think that may have been the sweetest thing I’ve ever said.” I bit into a piece of buffalo chicken and licked some sauce off the corner of my mouth. “I need that printed on a T-shirt.”
“Are you high, Zach?” Noah chuckled.
“No, I’m in love, dude!” I exclaimed. “This chicken is really good too.”
Henry let out an affectionate laugh.
“Anyway.” I waved a hand. “Enough about my sluttitude. Anyone up for some Christmas shopping tomorrow?”
The warmth, love, and transcendence of happiness makes you want to stay in their orbit just to soak up a little of their awesomeness. They really are the best family to read about. And when they spice things up with a couple little blue pills? Or maybe a toke in a hot tub? Or perhaps a sleepy re-connection of bodies, kinks, and hearts? 5 stars and about a bajillion of those eggplant and heart and happy and winky face emojis too.
