I’m supposed to hate her just because her last name is Erickson and her family owns The Bagel Place. The Andrews and Ericksons of Cliffton Heights are equivalent to the Capuletes and Montagues from Romeo and Juliet. No one is sword fighting in alleys or anything, but the feud between our families tore two best friends apart. Not just our fathers, but Evan and me too. The truth is, my feelings for … is, my feelings for her are the complete opposite of hate, but she’ll never know that because her last name will always be Erickson.

Seth and Evan have a unique story to tell. This couple eventually brings on the yummy as they travel down the friends to more road. Wink. It has a beautiful tribe in it giving the storyline added richness. Love all the characters both friends and family surrounding these two. Sigh.
Plan for a Romero/Juliet romance with some Hatfields/McCoys family dynamics to add intensity. Humor and yes misunderstandings are part of this telling. Yikes. Best of all you get sweet moments that will melt you heart.
Enough said cause I hate spoilers. Happy Reading Everyone.
This book is everything! Seth and Evan are a really lovely and romantic couple. They are children of the feud between their parents and their bagels shops. Now, Evan is managing her family’s shop and Seth is a boudoir photografer, they get together to help their families (without their knowledge) in order to score a part in the Food Channel new reallity show.
This escalated in a fake engagement and a new relationship between them. Their families are an important factor in their lifes, after all Evan resigns her life to help out and Seth is a proclamed “mamma’s boy”. The writing is so good! Piper Rayne due works so beautifully in this romantic and sensitive story about family and love (and bagels!).
I just loved this book!
After reading the first book in this series I reached out to Piper Rayne to make sure Seth was getting a book, and I have been impatiently waiting for this story ever since! While I’ve hated having to wait, I have definitely loved all the little breadcrumbs & build-up for Seth & Evan scattered throughout the first few books, and the wait was definitely worth it.
With Romeo & Juliet vibes, off the charts chemistry, and addicting banter, this book was everything I was hoping for and more. I loved Seth & Evan so much, and while I was already rooting for them before their story began, I absolutely needed their happiness once I got to know them. They fit so seamlessly together, nothing appeared forced, and the pacing was perfect.
The secondary characters were amazing, and while I wish we had a bit more of the Rooftop Crew I think they played their part perfectly. The family feud was a really fun dynamic to watch unfold, and while you would think it would cause a lot of drama, this story is way more fun than angsty. As usual there’s an amazing set up for the next book, and I can only hope it’s as amazing as this one!
Finally we get Evan and Seths story! It is a fun, flirty, sweet romance with a twist. When two families have a business together and there is a major fall out and the kids are caught in the middle. It is everything you come to expect from Piper Rayne! I am voluntarily leaving my honest review after reading this arc, but I loved it so much I purchased my own copy.
I previously said that The Rival Roomies was my favorite of the series so far, but I think Our Star-Crossed Kiss has it beat by just a bit. Only because Seth and Evan are childhood friends, and that is one of my favorite tropes!
This was a sweet, fun, and sexy read. Considering these are rival families with an ongoing 20 year feud, there wasn’t as much angst or drama as I was expecting, which is a good thing!
I did feel bad for Evan, who felt like she was in a position where she had to keep the business going, and for Seth, who felt underappreciated for everything he did for his family. I loved that they both cared so much for their families though, that they were willing to put aside their wants and needs, especially Evan.
I’ve been rooting for these two since we first learned of their history. I was so happy to see them finally have their chance, because I knew it was meant to be! But my heart hurt thinking about all the years they missed out on, thanks to their parents, ugh! I liked the whole concept of them working together for the television show- I mean something had to happen to bring them together!
For having been apart for so long, I loved how easily Seth and Evan were able to pick right back up, almost as if no time had passed.
I wish I lived in Cliffton Heights so I could be a part of the rooftop crew!
I always love to read a enemy’s to lovers book! And now combined with Seth and Evan as the main characters, it definitely is a must read!
Everybody knows that Seth has an eye out for her, even tho he’s always denying it! And finally we get to see, what is going on inside of Evans head, and how she really thinks about him!
These two had sparks flying from beginning till the end (and I hope we get to see them in the future Rooftop Crew Books!)
It was also lovely, to read about the other couples again (and of course the hopefully soon to be ones!)
And Seth Mom was just hilarious, while talking to his clients!
The Rooftop Crew has quickly become one of my favorite series! Piper & Rayne have drawn me in with each book and made me fall so quickly in love with these characters! I’ve fallen so completely in love with Seth & Evan! I loved how they had so much history together. They were childhood friends who lost touch and became enemies after a falling out between their fathers. GAH! The chemistry between these two was off the charts and it just was amazing. I really loved that they balanced each other out: Seth was more more playful & goofy, while Evan was more serious. This was definitely a 5 star read!
Seth and Evan’s fun, lighthearted story is just what I needed! Our Star Crossed Kiss by Piper Rayne is an entertaining story with characters that will steal your heart! The steamy moments, flirty banter and overall wonderful feeling you get while reading this book will have your emotions all over the place! I highly recommend this book!
I loved this story so much. It’s like a modern day West Side Story. Okay, maybe Romeo and Juliet since it’s a family feud and not a gang feud, but that beautiful cover says West Side Story…..
Evan Erickson and Seth Andrews are such wonderful characters and you can’t help but fall in love with them. Both struggle with family loyalty and maintaining a 20 yr feud between their two families. A business opportunity turns into a ‘fake’ engagement, which only uncovers years of hidden feelings.
Their journey is sweet, spicy, witty, and at times challenging. So many layers to their story!
The rest of the Rooftop Crew is on hand to help them navigate through their relationship.
A really fun book and series.
You just can’t go wrong with a Piper Rayne book!!
I received an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review
I have been waiting for Seth’s story and it did not disappoint! They were the modern day Romeo and Juliet except they lived happily ever after! Our Star-Crossed Kiss was the fourth book in Piper & Rayne’s Rooftop Crew Series. These do not have to be read in order but I highly recommend checking out the whole gang when you get a chance! Our Star-Crossed Kiss was funny, emotional, and so sweet!
Seth wanted his own life away from his family’s bagel shop but unfortunately he was sucked back in. When the opportunity to get his parents shop back on track came up, it sounded like the prefect idea. That was until he found out he would have to work with the enemy, but was she really?
Evan and Seth used to be best friends but when they were nine, their parents had a falling out. Ever since then, they were to hate each other but did their friendship ever die? A brilliant idea of getting engaged to trick their families into working together again seemed perfect… nothing could go wrong, right?
Oh the heartache!! Luckily Piper & Rayne pieced my heart back together with an amazing ending! The banter between these two was perfect! I loved getting to watch them grow, both as friends and more! They were always destined to be together!
When I started this series I wouldn’t have thought we would get Evan and Seth together. There was such a history of animosity between their families and Evan was so outside of the Rooftop crew.
Although I guess I probably should have seen it coming with the way these ladies like to work all the tropes into their series. But even if I had of anticipated them getting together this was so entertaining and I couldn’t put it down.
Evan had always been in the background and I had always thought she was a sweetheart. All of her dreams had been put on hold so she could step up for her family. And yet every time we saw her she was happy and helpful and caring and I wanted to steal her away.
I loved having Seth as the main character. He had put up with so much teasing from the guys about his profession and taken it all in stride. Everything about him was beautiful. But damn he was so much deeper than I was expecting, which just made me love the way everything played out with him and Evan.
This has been such a great series. And I can’t wait to see all of the crew get their happily ever after.
I’ve been in a reading slump, and this book is just what I needed to break that slump. It’s sweet, refreshing, and funny. The blurb caught my attention with its unique plot, and I was not disappointed. I was hooked within the first few pages and read almost straight through. Much like the title suggests, the story has some similarities to Romeo and Juliet, which I loved.
Seth and Evan go together like bagels and cream cheese. (Sorry. I couldn’t resist.) They are positively adorable together. I love how much both of them care about their families; they are the kind of people I would want for a friend.
Our Star-Crossed Kiss is the fourth book in The Rooftop Crew series but can definitely be read as a standalone without any confusion or gaps. That being said, it’s an excellent series that I recommend reading in order. You won’t want to miss a single title!
When the children of two feuding families (think the Montagues vs Capulets, Hatfields vs McCoys) must work together instead of against each other, a plan is hatched that soon has the two falling back into their old friendship. Turned more? Well yes, but only for appearances sake. Right?
Wrong. Because they may have said they came up with an relationship as a way to work the reality show they’re competing in, but we all knew, THEY knew, it was because they’ve been in love with each other since they were teens. Yep. Star-crossed lovers indeed. But when Seth thinks Evan betrayed him, will he fall back into their families’ pattern of distrust and anger? Or will he remember how he really feels about Evan and think for a second?
This Rooftop Crew is so entertaining. I love their tight bonds of friendship, and all the love each one of them has found. And I especially love Evan and Seth together because not only was it a long time coming, but overcoming a family feud to find love is just so swoony, so sweet. I loved it!
I love this bunch of friends, they are a little crazy and a LOT of fun!
Seth and Evan were sooooo good.
Banter, tension and and years of missed friendship made the breaking point so much sweeter.
Sweet and sexy, they had me riveted.
And the bonus scene? *kisses tips of fingers* PERFECT
Looking forward to the next one!
I received a free ARC copy of this book from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is Seth and Evan’s story and I absolutely loved it. Its actually my absolute favorite in the series. It had depth and real issues and I loved the plot line.
Evan’s parents own the bagel shop in town. Seth’s parents own the place where they sell the best cream cheese in town. Many years before the two families shared a business, the moms were friends and the kids liked each other. But that all changed when the dads had a falling out. And now they hate each other on principle. But sometimes life throws you some real curve balls and you need your friends. Thats the great message about this book.
Things come to ahead for the two businesses when they enter a best of town sort of tv show and they love Evan’s bagels and Seth’s cream cheese. So they have to do the show together and with the families at war they come up with a brilliant idea. And thats how they end up dating….
This book was fun and sweet and hot and absolutely adored Evan and Seth together. I loved watching Evan find some outside life and join in friendship with Seth’s friends. And I loved how Seth wanted to show Evan how she could have a life beyond bagels.
Loved this book, Love this whole series.
Each of these books tells the story of a different member from this group of friends. Our Star-Crossed Kiss is Seth and Evan’s story. A second chance romance with plenty of funny moments, lots of chemistry and a HEA.
They were childhood friends until their parents started a Freud that separated that. All the friends know that they aren’t to mention Evan but they also know Seth secretly hurts for her. A fake relationship soon turns real, although neither wants to admit feelings, but can they get over the war their parents bring and the rivalry of business. Even when neither wants to know about bagels.
Piper Rayne brought all the witty, steamy and heartaching feels on Our Star-Crossed Kiss. And my heart and soul is in a state of pure bliss! This story is everything I love about Piper Rayne’s writing. Captivating and adorable characters. Lovable and intriguing story line. And a perfect mix of heat and sweetness.
Evan and Seth were childhood friends when their families ran the bagel place in Cliffton Heights together. And then came the great rift. The families became sworn enemies and business competitors. Now a famous tv show is running a contest for all the food business to get featured in tv. Evan’s store has the best cream cheese and Seth’s store has the best bagel. And none of them want to run bagel stores. So they have to join forces, pretend to be engaged and make their parents agreeable to a joint business plan. But fake doesn’t stay so for long.
Ok Seth I am with you. #Sethisthebest. This guy..oh man this guy. He is all flirty fun and jokes outside but inside he has so much burden. He feels he is disappointing his parents by wanting to continue as a photographer. He feels guilty and a bit grievance. He and Evan may be enemies but he is so protective of her from the very beginning. I am so in love with this charming, gorgeous, sweet and sexy man. Evan is also stuck in her life because she had to forget her dreams to take care of her family and business. She has a lot of grit and will power to carry on everyday. I love her dedication to her family and also how she supports Seth in every situation. They have an amazing chemistry. Old rivalry may have separated them for years but as soon as they decided to tackle the hurdle together, it was like no time has passed at all. They are partner in crimes. They are soulmates. They have this magnetic pull and a trusting bond that survived all tests. It was a bit spicy, a lot swoony, a bit angsty and a whole lot of feels. They had lots of ups and downs but it just made everything interesting and kept me on my toes. Also I loved meeting the whole Rooftop Crew. They make me laugh so hard!
Our Star-Crossed Kiss by Piper Rayne was a hot and sweet treat. My heart is full of feels. It’s a delicious treat of happy, steamy and hearfelt emotions. I cannot get enough of this world.
I reviewed an early copy voluntarily
Seth and Evan are Fire! Elizabeth @ Carolina Chic’s Read
Seth and Evan were childhood friends and that said they had the closest friendship you could ever find. They lived to be together and understood each other inside and out. A bitter feud between their parents tore them apart and with that you have two very young children who are broken hearted to not have their best friend.
Fast forward 20 years… these two are very much aware of each other and have now decided that they are going to take the reigns on their lives and dreams. They just need each other to do it. (No spoilers) These two have melted my heart… I loved their journey. They had to face a lot of truths to get to the other side and find happiness.
How sweet it is!!!!
5 Feuding Stars!
Evan Erickson and Seth Andrews are ones who got away…from each other. A family feud from 20 years ago split the duo apart. Evan and Seth spent all that time using avoidance techniques while being equally as miserable. When a cooking show comes to town, they find themselves competitors until the producers shake up the format. Now, Evan and Seth concoct a scheme to reunite their still-feuding parents….they pretend to date and become engaged. As Evan and Seth’s plan continues to ramp up, so do their feelings for each other. The ending of this charade may prove to completely break them both.
Everything about Our Star-Crossed Kiss worked for me. The characters are awesome and include everyone from the previous books. Evan and Seth have such fantastic chemistry and witty banter. While you could consider this a stand alone, I highly recommend reading the series in order so you have context. The character development is great and the authors continue to introduce a new characters. The level of emotions in this book run high, are expertly written, and make the reader feel exactly what the characters are feeling.
The entire series is awesome and highly recommended. Our Star-Crossed Kiss is exceptional and I loved the book very much. I’m glad I will be able to read the story again anytime I want.
I look forward to the next book.
I was provided a copy of this book to read.
4.5 Stars
This was the book I have been waiting for, Seth and Evan’s story! It was everything I wanted and more.
Seth and Evan were friends until a fault between their two families put them on opposite sides, making them enemies. Easier said then done when they have been in love with each other for years just never able to act on it. A modern day Romeo and Juliet, there honestly is a really fine line between love and hate.
I don’t want to give away too much about the spoiler, I promised Piper Rayne I wouldn’t, but I promise you will be gripped and entertained throughout. You will also laugh and swoon.
I can’t wait to see what happens next with Knox’s story
