I’m supposed to hate her just because her last name is Erickson and her family owns The Bagel Place. The Andrews and Ericksons of Cliffton Heights are equivalent to the Capuletes and Montagues from Romeo and Juliet. No one is sword fighting in alleys or anything, but the feud between our families tore two best friends apart. Not just our fathers, but Evan and me too. The truth is, my feelings for … is, my feelings for her are the complete opposite of hate, but she’ll never know that because her last name will always be Erickson.

Our Star-Crossed Kiss was the fourth book in the Rooftop series by the authors Piper Rayne.
We finally have the long awaited story for Seth Andrews and Evan Erickson. Their families had competing Bagel Shops in the same small town. They were sworn enemies. But it wasn’t always the case, they were best friends until their parents feud tore them apart at nine years old.
We knew early on that Seth and Evan had chemistry. The authors took us through a fun storyline that brought in the whole family and even the whole town. They also lightly tackled a couple serious topics – but only from a far and not too deep a dive. Hopefully that will be another story for another day.
All in all, it was a quick and humorous read. Knox is up next in The Do-Over and after a big teaser from the authors, there is no telling where they will take us now.
Ok I know I sound like a broken record with these men of Piper Rayne’s but it’s so true and i can’t pick my favorite!! Especially after I get to know them even better!! But every single time I can’t wait for one of these guys books!! And I am made at myself for being behind but I can’t help health issues putting a snag in my reading program!! But I love Seth and his comedic ways. Humor is always my weakness when it comes to men. And I always hide my pain behind humor. So of course Seth is gonna be up there on my top favorite PR men!! And Evan and I are alot alike so i really connected to her. But the thing with PR’s women is there is always something in each woman you can connect with. They make them more real than most. And I love that about these books. I swear these are some of the best books I have ever read.

Finally, Seth and Evan’s story! I have been looking forward to this book for a long time, and it lives up to my high expectations. This is different than most of the pretend fiancee romances that I have read, because they have known each other since they were little, and their friendship came to an abrupt halt, that was completely out of their control. If you have already read other books in this series, then you have already experienced the heat between these two, and it was not from anger. I listened to the audiobook. Piper Rayne has written a wonderful story, that had me sitting in my driveway for a long time after getting home, still listening to it, because I could not stop. Also, Tim Paige and Penelope Rose did a fantastic job as narrators, Narrators can either enhance or ruin a great story, but they definitely enhanced it. I highly recommend this book.
Seth Andrews has become a boudoir photographer but his parents own Andrews Bagel which is in direct competition with The Bagel Place.
Evan Erickson’s parents own The Bagel Place but once upon a time her dad was partners with Seth’s dad until a fight drove the two families apart and in turn broke up the friendship between Seth and Evan.
When a competition from the Food Network pits The Bagel Place and Andrews Bagel against each other, both families are willing to do whatever it takes to win. When a mistake happens how far will Seth and Evan go to put the feud aside so that both families can come out ahead?
Can Seth and Evan convince their families that the two are actually engaged and that it is the best for both businesses?
This was a book that I was eagerly waiting for with the evident “hatred” between Evan and Seth due to their fighting parents over bagels and cream cheese.
Seth wanted as far away from Andrews Bagels as he could get but at the same time there wasn’t anything that he wouldn’t do for his mom in helping her win the competition as he knew how much they needed it. I love Seth’s relationship with the Rooftop Crew and the bond that they all share.
At the beginning of the book Evan is dating Brock Floyd but she realizes that he isn’t what she wants although he does help her out a little with the competition. I like that it was Evan that came to Seth with her idea of what would be the best for both families/businesses but there was still so much at stake.
I knew that things were going to change between Evan and Seth and I love how the mom’s got involved and everything that they had been hiding over the years.
I hated how Brock got in the middle of things and caused a lot of conflict and almost caused everything to end. It made me mad how both Seth and Evan and reacted although I did understand how Seth got the wrong idea.
I loved how Seth showed his dedication to Evan at the end of the book!!
The end was awesome and I was definitely happy with how it all ended!!
The sneak peak at the end of the book definitely left me with my jaw on the ground!!
anxiously waited for another book in the series. this did not disappoint!!
I am in love with Piper Rayne’s new book Our Star Crossed Kiss! I adore Evan and Seth’s love story. They were best friends until they became enemies because of a family rivalry. Now they’ll need to fake their engagement to help their families. The perfect amount of witty banter, chemistry, and charm that I’ve come to expect from this duo.
“’ . , , , ’ . ’ . ’ ? , ’ .”
Let’s talk about “Our Star-Crossed Kiss by Piper Rayne”.
Sometimes I feel like a parrot when it comes to Piper’s and Rayne’s books. This duo is always on my go-to authors, because their books always bring me so much happiness, love and it’s a lot of fun, and this one I might even go to the length of saying it’s my favorite of the Rooftop Crew series. And that’s not an easy feat because the three first books of the series are super amazing.
Evan and Seth’s families have known each other since forever and even had a bagel shop together, until their dads got in a business fight and their families went on their separate ways. So many years later, Evan is taking care of The Bagel Place but from the start you see that it’s not her dream. And then we have my sweat and amazing Seth, he is the momma’s boy, and would do a lot to help his family in the Andrews Bagel Company even if took another route as a boudoir photographer.
But when an opportunity arises for her to possibly move on from her family business, she has to ask for help from her family enemy and she goes straight to Seth. So now that they are faking being fiancées, I could see so clearly how their have so many chemistry and could be the real deal! It was like they were always friends of each other, and none of the rivalry ever existed. I also loved how his friends instantly were good to her.
Of course something had to go wrong and let me tell you, heartbroken Seth was so sad and for a moment I was really mad with the authors for making him go through all of that. Damn it! But of course they would give a happy ending for them and not go on the real Romeo and Juliet route. This book, as the whole series, is another rom-com must read.
Love the series. The characters are fun and very relatable.
Seth and Evan get the chance to rekindle their friendship with the opportunity to highlight their bagel shops on TV. Before either knows it they are engaged, then having a friends with benefits relationship. Not surprised they fell in love, if only they had some trust to go with it…..
Our Star-Crossed Kiss is book four in The Rooftop Crew series. Each book covers a different couple so they can be read as a standalone. This one is Seth and Evan’s story. It’s told in both their POVs so we get to get into both their head. I love dual POV books. Seth and Evan used to be best friends but their father’s disagreement pulled them apart now both families are competing for Food Channel’s reality show. Seth and Evan reconnect as friends. They both are great characters who cared deeply for their families. It’s a heartwarming with some funny parts too.
I knew a book about Seth and Evan was going to be very interesting and it was. These two have been sworn enemies throughout the other books but I felt they protested a little too much and too often. Again the Piper Rayne writing duo has not failed to being us an emotional dive into a relationship that has us hibernating until we have read the story from cover to cover and having all emotions passing through during the journey. Oh such a wonderful feeling. More, more, more!
Piper and rhyme never fail to keep me hooked from the first to last page. I have been so excited to get my hands on Seth and Evans story. After the tension between the. In previous books, I knew this one would be all kinds of entertaining and I was not disappointed.
I have loved all of the books in this series but I do believe this one is my absolute fave! I cannot wait to see what these two authors bring us next!!
4 stars
Our Star-crossed Kiss is the latest in the Rooftop Crew series by author duo Piper Rayne. While you’ll enjoy getting to know the friend group in past books, this book is a standalone.
Evan Erickson and Seth Andrews are the Romeo and Juliet of the bagel world. That’s right they’re the progeny of two once close but now warring families and forced into working their family’s bagel businesses. Groomed from a young age to hate each other, the last thing they expect is to fall in love…or team up to break free of lives they don’t want over the deli counter.
While this one didn’t quite pull me in like the first couple books in the series, it was still super cute with lots of great characters! Looking forward to more from this group of crazy friends!

Two households, both alike in dignity, In fair Cliffton Heights…
Instead of fighting for who has the best Bagels or Cream Cheese why not work together, well that’s better said than whatever happened between the Erickson’s and Andrews, and unfortunately, Seth and Evan are caught in the middle. But they think being “fake” engaged will help their chances of patching things between families for a new show on the Food Network.
Everything about this book was cute, funny, and heart-melting. I hate to say this but I think the secondary characters might have stolen the pages at times. So looking forward to the next couple of books in this series.
Our Star-Crossed Kiss is the fourth book in The Rooftop Crew series. This enemies-to-lovers romance has an intriguing storyline, wonderful characters, a family feud, LOL moments, a bit of angst, amazing chemistry, witty banter, drama, a whole lot of feels, some steam, and a happily ever after.
I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.
This is the fourth book in the Roof-Top Crew series. They are stand alones, but the previous book does set up the next one with a small cliffhanger at the end.
Evan and Seth are great. They were best friends until they were nine and then they weren’t allowed to be anymore because of a fight their dads had. Their families were in business together. Now they each have their separate bagel business.
There are a lot of truths that come out during their “engagement”. I won’t go into why they got engaged, that’s for you to read and find out. But I loved how this all played out.
This is a sweet read. It went from enemies, to friends again, to star-crossed lovers.
I can’t wait for Knox’s book next.
Our Star-Crossed Kiss was a fabulous friends to enemies to co-conspirators to lovers romance!
It all starts as a tale of two shops . . . The Bagel Shop and Andrews’ Bagels . . . formerly The Bagel and Schmear shop. Run by two families who were best friends. But a business feud pulls not only the shop but also the families apart. And, too young to really understand what was happening between their parents, Seth and Evan are no longer allowed to be friends.
When a new opportunity can help both Seth and Evan reach their dreams of ditching bagels forever, they agree to work together and a fake engagement is born! But what happens when the feelings are not as fake as the engagement is supposed to be?
Seth and Evan were so sweet together. They both had doubts and rotten self esteem and self worth at times. But, they were both successful in their own way even though neither was living their dream.
I adored how their friendship came back so easy . . . Piper Rayne did such an amazing job with this! These friends turned lovers really were star crossed and I loved the rom com version of the trope made famous by Romeo and Juliet. And, their feuding families added some really great depth to the story as well.
Fun, sexy, sweet and with a grand gesture that was just pretty awesome, Our Star-Crossed Kiss was another winner by Piper Rayne!
I’m so happy this book is finally here. Evan and Seth have been a long time coming. And apparently more so than I thought before. I loved their back and forth banter and the tension in the beginning because of the family fued. The history between them got me even more invested in the relationship. Their journey from the tension and those snarky comment filled interactions to HEA was so well written. Even if it’s not an every day occurrence that someone gets a chance like they found themselves getting, it still felt so natural and realistic given their history.
I loved revisiting with characters from past books in their friend group. I especially loved their wonderful, meddling moms. It all came together so perfectly.
Once again this story ended with one heck of a cliffhanger and I’m excited for Knox to get his book.
4.5 stars!
Our Star-Crossed Kiss is book #4 is The Rooftop Crew Series by Piper Rayne and it is my favourite in the series thus far. Piper Rayne made me fall HARD for Seth and Evan! Of course as always the book is full of their signature humour but there was also a very sweet emotional side to this book that I was not expecting. The story line was creative and gave me modern day Romeo and Juliet vibes. The Ericksons and Andrews are rival families. Each own a bagel shop in town and their businesses are highly competitive. Seth is the absolute star of this book. #sethismyfav I could not get enough of his witty banter and jokes. He is the friend in the group that is always the life of the party and puts everyone in good mood the moment he enters a room. His charm is intoxicating and addicting. He is also sweet and hardworking and a talented photographer. I loved Evan just as much as Seth. Thinking back to when I was reading Rival Roomies and how any mention of Evan Seth would react and I was eager to get to know them more. What made this such a fun read was the moment that Seth and Evan decide to disguise themselves in a fake relationship in order to win their families a spot on a popular cooking show on the Food Channel. The chemistry between Seth and Evan is undeniable. The two have had a thing for one another much longer than either are willing to admit and I loved the development of their relationship. One thing that I love about this series is the comrade between all the friends. The Rooftop Crew are a family themselves and accept newcomers as their own. There is never a dull moment and they live to give each other a hard time but deep down it’s in a loving way as family does. This book has it all and was everything I needed. It is filled with crazy family drama and hilarious banter. The story is a sweet and steamy rom-com with a ton feels and is a must read in the series. I cannot wait for more. Knox’s book is next in the The Do-Over.

I love the Roof Top crew. They are such a great group. When I start a book from this series I just gobble it up. This book was no different. Through out the previous books we’ve gotten the set up for Seth and Evan’s story. They are supposed to not like each other even though they were best friends when they were younger. Competing bagel places and a family feud have thrown them on opposing sides. Now a food competition has thrown the two together. I loved Seth and Evan. It did my heart good to see them find their friendship again. It shows how much this feud has truly impacted their lives. I love Seth’s sense of humor. He’s definitely the comedian oft the Roof Top crew. There were a few surprises that really made my heart happy sigh because it gave Seth and Evan a running chance at something real. Seth’s grand gesture was really romantic to me. Even swoon worthy. The set up for the next book has me wanting to get my hands on it now!
