I’m supposed to hate her just because her last name is Erickson and her family owns The Bagel Place. The Andrews and Ericksons of Cliffton Heights are equivalent to the Capuletes and Montagues from Romeo and Juliet. No one is sword fighting in alleys or anything, but the feud between our families tore two best friends apart. Not just our fathers, but Evan and me too. The truth is, my feelings for … is, my feelings for her are the complete opposite of hate, but she’ll never know that because her last name will always be Erickson.

I’ve really come to enjoy reading about this crew. They never fail to leave me smiling after giving me just enough tension to have my heart dip before it soars.
Seth and Evan’s story is no different in that regard. It’s filled with family history, some of which is lost on them other than the outcome, self-doubt, a little bit of hope, a far-fetched proposition, strong friendships, self discovery and love.
A great ‘lose yourself in a book for a day’ kind of story.
Loved it!!! This is a really great story about childhood friends, enemies as adults and a whole lot of drama regarding bagels and cream cheese. If you’re looking for a book that fully guarantees a HEA, a lot of funny moments and with an original and amazing plot, this is it for you. You will love this as much as I did.
A war between families… not the kind to end lives but the kind of secret recipes and competition on who is the best bagel place. The Bagel Place and the Andrews Bagel Company, the Erickson’s and the Andrews’ have an ongoing war for years; as children, Evan and Seth learned they had to hate each other, why? well because of the drama with the bagels and cream cheese. But now comes a new war, a spot on one of the segments in the Food Channel. The only way to benefit both families is if Evan and Seth work together and maybe hide some things from the families…like a fake relationship. What can go wrong when your once childhood best friend asks you to fake date just to win the spot in the food channel??
Heart whelming and beautiful, this story will capture your attention and will make you fall in love with the characters.
I love the Rooftop Crew series and I have been waiting for Evan and Seth’s book. King of a modern day Romeo and Juliet, Seth and Evan’s parents used to be best friends and so did they but a business feud got in they way and their friendship was a casualty. Despite the fact that they were supposed to hate each other, nine years of being besties is hard to let go especially when other feelings start to develop.
Now Evan and Seth see the chance they need to finally get away from family duty, but to do that they need to team up. Spending time together ignites something more though.
I loved Seth and Evan’s story. You can say this is a friends to enemies to fake fiancée to friends with benefits to lovers story and any chance I have to catch up with all the other amazing couples from the Rooftop Crew I’m for it. I’m very ready for Knox’s story. That ending was all kinds of intriguing.
5 Star Review Our Star-Crossed Kiss (The Rooftop Crew #4) by Piper Rayne
As I have come to expect from a book written by Piper Rayne Our Star-Crossed Kiss was an entertaining read. From the first to the last chapter, I was hooked on the story that these authors wove, totally invested in Seth and Evan’s story.
These two have history, they were best friends until a feud between their father’s broke up their friendship. When they meet again and agree to team up to win a competition, sparks fly and although off to a rocky start, they slowly but surely re ignite their friendship. Complications arise when Evan asks Seth to pretend to be her boyfriend.
What happens when feelings become involved? What happens when things are destroyed again? I’ve been waiting for Seth’s story since he first appeared in the series. There were plenty of fun, laugh out loud moments, although having said that there were some emotional parts as well. It was also great to see the other members of The Rooftop Crew make an appearance.
I received an ARC for this book. It was worth the wait. All the build up of from the other books, made this book show the true feelings of the couple. Seth and Evan were so great together. They were true soulmates. Great book! Loved it and can’t wait until the next!
Ooh, how I’ve been waiting for Seth and Evan’s story! If you’ve read other books in The Rooftop Crew series, you have an idea about the history between these two’s families and it’s been so intriguing. If you haven’t read the other books, no problem! Just dive right into this one and you won’t be behind at all. And, let’s not forget #Sethisthebest!
Evan Erickson and Seth Andrews grew up close friends until they time they were around nine years old. At that point, their father’s, who were in the bagel business together had a falling out and they ended up opening competing bagel shops and severing ties between the families.
Now 20 years later, Seth is boudoir photographer and while he is fun and flirty on the outside, he carries a whole lot of guilt stemming from his family due to the fact he chose to go to college over going into the family bagel business. As for Evan, she’s taken over running her family’s bagel shop since her Dad had a health scare. She’s hard working and full of determination, but a little lost since she’d much rather have chosen the path her work life took.
A food challenge competition show has come to town and both families are submitting their bagels and cream cheese for judging. Will this end up brining Evan and Seth together, which will in turn reunite the two families? Or will things go disastrously wrong and drive an even bigger wedge between the battling bagel joints?
This story was wonderful and you can’t help but root for Seth and Evan. Seth is sweet, charming and hot and Evan is beautiful, caring and independent and their chemistry is noticeable immediately. I enjoyed how all of this played out, the role that their friends played and I also enjoyed the ups and downs they had to endure.
I highly recommend this entertaining tale!
**I voluntarily read an early copy of this title in exchange for an honest review**
All I need is a Piper Rayne novel to brighten up my day. Evan and Seth are a hoot and a half. Move over Romeo and Juliet because Seth and Evan are about to give you something to aspire to. Our Star Crossed Kiss brings it. Rayne keeps the laughs coming, the drama flowing and the heartache brewing. From family feuds to burning love, Rayne continues her hot streak of unforgettable romance.
Even and Seth were seriously amazing! I knew I was going to love these two and I wasn’t disappointed. One minute I was on chapter 2 and the next minute I was on the epilogue! I was completely hooked!
Evan and Seth are enemies but before that they were friends as children, then their families, who run rival bagel shops had a falling out. 20 years later Seth and Evan can’t stand being anywhere near each other. Both have family obligations to the shops that they don’t want and when a famous tv show runs a contest, maybe just maybe they can escape the family business but for that to happen they need to work together!
I loved Seth and Evan. Their chemistry and banter was so good!
Seth was so funny and so protective of Evan! Evan is dedicated to her family and the business her parents own, at the expense of her own dreams. She is strong, takes no nonsense and will always defend the ones she loves!
I loved catching up with the rest of the rooftop crew and after that sneak peak can not wait for Knox’s book.
#sethismyfav and that‘s the truth!
I‘ve been waiting for Seth‘s story since book one! His humour and characterism is just amazing and it sucked me in right away! But his story takes the cake! It was so good I devoured it in a few hours.
Seth and Evan have this chemistry that‘s just unstoppable. If you‘ve read the previous books you‘ll get sneak peeks into their story, their banter and their history and it makes reading this book alot better.
This story made me laugh a bunch of times but also squezed my heart because I felt for those characters so much! Evan and Seth are so different and yet the same. They value family alot and that‘s ultimatley what brings them together and tears them apart.
Also that sneak peek into Knox book! I can‘t wait!

Okay Seth was right he is my new favourite. There was just something about him I couldn’t help but fall in love with his character. His humour had me giggling like crazy, but there was more to him than just being the funny man of the group. If you don’t fall in love with him by the end of chapter one than I don’t know about you!
Evan was different than I was expecting. I knew their story was going to be a good one especially after all that tension in past books in the series. The banter, the sexual chemistry & best of the friendship was what made this book for me. Although the family feud was so much more than I was expecting as well.
Another amazing read by the Piper Rayne duo. I can’t wait for Knox’s (love his name)book. I received an arc of this book in return for an honest review.
