After a devastating accident crushed my dreams, I ended up back in my hometown teaching kindergarten. I was trying to make the best of it. That is, until the world I had to leave behind, showed up in my classroom in the form of a five-year-old little girl. Her father living the exact life I almost had.Adam Jacobson is known as the bad boy of rock. While he and his band tour the world, they leave … they leave a trail of mayhem. What no one knows is behind the music is a caring, straightedge man with a secret — a daughter who the world is about to discover.
When they move to my small town, their secret is blown. He needs my help to keep her out of the media, and with each exchange we grow closer. Only problem is I need to stay away from the memories he ignites, and the temptations he brings my way.
Secrets I’ve kept and thoughts of that fatal night come crashing back into my life. I have to wonder if it was more than fate that brought his little girl into my classroom.

This is a single dad, rock star, second chance at not only love, but life story. I loved it every step of the way. Sometimes life is hard and you have to make difficult choices that squash your dreams. Adam is so loving and supportive throughout Sarah’s whole journey. I love, love, loved this book!

Our Song is a swoony, sexy, slow burn, deliciously angsty, rocker romance that is beautiful in every way. Once I started I did not want to put it down. I’ve read and adored Lauren’s co-written work. Now I know without a shadow of a doubt how talented she is all on her own. She has definitely wow’d me and I will be following her shamelessly for-freakin-ever!
Sarah is a wonderfully complex heroine. She has survived tragedy, overcome devastation and is indifferent for the time being living under her controlling, judgy Dad’s watchful eye in her small home town. She is going through the motions but not really living. She is strong, beautiful, humble and caring. I really fell in love with her strong faith and spirit.
Adam *le sigh* is off the charts amazing. I coudn’t have conjured up a more completely perfect hero. He may be a rocker by profession and love & live through his music – but there is so much more to him than that. So many fantastic layers to who he is and why. Looks may be deceiving – seeing past the guages in his ears and tattoos reveals who he is as a man – and whew he is all delicous man! So sexy and swoony. He is all about his family, his daughter who he adores. Adam as a father melts my heart and panties simultaneously. Absolute perfection!
The angst and uncertaintity between Adam and Sarah is fantastically written. Unfolds beautifully. Not rushed. Paced just perfectly. I didn’t want their story to end. In fact I need more. I need their whole lives – is there plans for a book 2 or more because I will never get my fill. Even sweet little Sugarplum has to grow up and fall in love someday…I need her story too!
Sarah was living her dreams in New York until a tragic accident took it all away. Returning home to teach kindergarten, she never imagined your past would collide with her present. Adam is trying live a normal life. Life as a rock star is starting to wear on him. Meeting Sarah just may be what both of them need. Throw in a judgmental town, a family with tension and an adorable 5 year old and you get an enjoyable and heartwarming story.

Adam and Sarah are a couple with a bond of music.
With her dream tragically ripped from her and left her living a solitary life to please those around her, a special little human will turn her life upside down and help her bring her dreams to life.
When Adam arrives back in town, his instant attraction to Sarah has them both seeing a new light ahead. Throw in some heated moments, a gorgeous little girl, music lyrics and a beautiful love story blooms before us.
I enjoyed watching there story unfold.
Sarah is a kindergarten teacher in her home town. Her father is the pastor of the church and everyone knows everyone. Father and daughter, Adam and Cailin, move to town and there are secrets surrounding them. Cailin loves singing songs in class and Sarah sings in her dad’s church. They make a great duo and bind over music. Will Adam, being a rock superstar, and Sarah bond over music as well? Make sure you read this wonderful story to find out.
Loved this book and it is one you NEED to READ—you won’t regret it! This is an amazing and beautiful love story, first and foremost, and secondly, a powerful tale of two people finding acquiescence within themselves and with one another. It was full of emotional angst, entertaining, captivating, scorching love scenes, and a compelling storyline. From the very first page I was spellbound by these fantastically described characters that you will find yourself falling in love with them—or not. Lauren Runow you did it! You delivered an addictive, intriguing love story that totally blew me away! Adam Jacobson (Tyler) is so swoon-worthy, tall, handsome, tattooed, a famous rock star known as the ‘bad boy of rock’ or nightmare, but most importantly, a father. Adam was the lead singer of his rock band, and he was known for his wild antics during shows. Adam had a tough childhood and grew up without any love, but when he had a child, he made sure that he would protect her from the world and loved her. Adam’s daughter, Cailin, is 5 years old and in kindergarten—she is his life. Sarah Russo is from a small town and her father is the pastor of the town. Sarah was going to college in NYC, and on the side she was doing something she always wanted to do—sing in a band. A devastating accident serves as a wake-up call about her life, and Sarah had to move back to her small town. Sarah became a kindergarten teacher and sang in her father’s church. When Sarah meets Adam, the sexy rock star, she is infatuated with his good looks, and the fact he belongs to the hottest band alive. The chemistry and passion that Adam and Sarah have for each other is explosive, and the sex is off-the-chart hot! Sarah has secrets from her past in NYC. Everything known to be true is questioned. The past is once again unearthed and this time, secrets lurk between dreams and reality—between the past and the present. Find out if Adam will unearth Sarah’s past. The storyline is fluid, and it will pique your interest.
I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve read from this author and this novel is no exception. Our Song was another fantastic page-turner incorporating single dad and rockstar tropes into one amazing story about love faith and hope. The story was heartwarming and emotional and will evoke a range of emotions from you as the story progresses. The storyline will have you hooked from the start and you will not be able to put it down. The characters were flawed and well-developed and while I loved Adam and Sarah, it was Cailin I adored. This was a well-written love story that will give you all the feels. I enjoyed it and would highly recommend it to all lovers of contemporary romance.
Adam is a famous rockstar. Sarah was a rising star until tragedy struck. Sarah then went back home and followed in her mother’s footsteps to become a teacher. On her first day of class little miss Cailin walks into her life and changes it forever. Adam is Cailin’s father and once he sees Sarah he is smitten. These two have the most magical and perfect love story. I devoured this book. It is so well written and kept me invested the entire story. You don’t want to miss this one.

This story is an off the charts, non stop page turner. Adam is not your average single father, he’s also the lead singer for Devil’s Breed. Your heart will swoon over this man and the way he interacts with Cailin, it’s the way you’d want to see a dad bond with his child. Sarah’s living the life she’s been brought up to live after following her heart and being knocked down from her dreams. This story is heartfelt, heartbreaking and romantic all rolled together into a down to earth tale of what happens when you judge by what’s on the surface and not from within. There are a lot of rockstar romance’s out there and I’ve read my fair share of them but this book consumed me, I never wanted to put my kindle down. I found myself tearing up at times both from sadness as well as joy. Beautifully written with a guaranteed HEA. I feel this is a book I can read multiple times and never get tired of these characters.
Absolutely beautiful!!
I don’t even know where to begin! This book was well written, with all the excitement of a rockstar romance, and yet all the charm of a single dad love story!!
A brilliant combination of characters including the oh so adorable Cailin who absolutely stole my heart.
There were moments of joy, tears & hurt making this an absolutely beautiful love story!
I highly recommend this book!
Lauren Runow is one of my favorite authors, and when I read the blurb for this book, I couldn’t wait to get my grabby hands on Sarah and Adam’s story.
I was hooked from the prologue, and then intrigued for the rest of the book about what happened to Sarah during the time between the end of the prologue and chapter one. Throw in a sexy rockstar single dad, and an absolutely adorable daughter who may have stolen a few scenes, and you have a book that is impossible to put down.
This book was a complete stand alone, told from dual POV, though I wouldn’t mind seeing stories for some of the secondary characters in the book! I absolutely recommend 1-clicking Our Song by Lauren Runow!
You never disappoint! You always write a story that needs tissues no matter what happens. I so loved this and I keep reading this story over and over again. Your a rockstar!
Rockstar dad meets School Teacher… eek it is so beautiful. This story has the sweetness and flavor of yesteryear romances. Love it! My hearts fills with emotion living in the nostalgia.
Ummm it has some slow build elements to this telling that I love because it is filled with story and awesome character development which is needed to understand all.
Adam is a wonderful father who understands his celebrity can be a negative thing for his daughter Caitlin which is why he kept her a secret until it was time for her to start school. I love how he is not the typical manwhore rock star that is often portrayed in this genre. He is an amazing talented guy that has learned to rise above a horrible childhood. (Sob).
Sarah’s musical background only adds to her teaching relationship with Caitlin. She has some scars that challenge her relationship with Adam. Ugh heartbreaking. (whispers) Keep reading… it gets REALLY good. Wink.
Ugh I will say as someone that was raised OTT religious, Sarah’s preacher dad and his biases pushed some of my buttons. Yikes! Keep reading… it gets better. Lol.
This is an amazing read filled with interesting and intriguing story. Small town, family, rockstars and music are just some of the elements explored. Adding a sweet little girl upped my need to finish this story. Ms Runow did not disappoint. Definitely a 4.5 stars book. Happy Reading Everyone! XOXO.
I really liked this book. Adam and Sarah are fantastic characters. Several twists and turns to keep you guessing. This is the first book written by Lauren Runow that I have read. I will be reading more of her books.
Our Song by Lauren Runow was a sweet and emotional romance about love, hope and second chances. The feelings were heartwarming. The characters were charming, strong and honest with multiple layers. The writing was freely flowing and bursting with energy and emotions.
Sarah belongs to a small town where everyone pokes their nose in everybody’s business and she is constantly judged as she is the pastor’s daughter. She was once full of life and dreams to be a rockstar but a cruel accident has taken away everything from her. So she is now a kindergarten teacher living a dull, hopeless and lonely life. But her past comes crashing down in her life when Cailin gets admitted in her class. Who, incidentally, is daughter of Adam, lead singer of the most famous Rock band Devil’s Creed. Adam wants her because he admires her beauty and golden heart and openness to accept him just another person. But can Sarah take a chance on this guy when she will be painfully reminded of her broken dreams everyday?
My most favourite character is Cailin. I am serious. This little ray of sunshine is just adorable. She did all the heavy work for bringing her father and her teacher together. Adam is a perfect combination of contradictions. A sexy smirking rock god, a doting father and a caring lover all bundled together with dirty sweet deliciousness. He has come a long way from his traumatic childhood but he has not forgotten the lessons. Their chemistry comes from the fact that they understand their scars so well and can see the person under. My heart swelled with pride and happiness when Sarah got to live her dreams again! That was the perfect fairytale ending! She did not give up and fought against all odds with Adam’s support.
Our Song by Lauren Runow was a beautifully written love story that was inspiring and sensual. A must read if you want to read a Rockstar romance that will win your heart in so many ways.
Received ARC for Honest review
This author has been on my tbr pile so every once in awhile I take a stab at it. This one caught my eye promising one with depth.
Sarah gets your attention right away with her getting her life once again going in a different direction then she had planned. Funny how life can do that.
Adam has crept in opening up all kinds of feelings along with us readers getting into some of that also. Cailin though is the one who steals our hearts.
This is one that gets you wrapped up in what is happening forgetting that you only meant to stop for a minute at times. Does not shrink at the emotions that can come with this also. The healing and the journey that goes on is one not to be missed.
OUR SONG is a book that has more happy notes then off key. But music is the theme of the book. Fate, destiny, and for those of us believers: God’s plan is put into this book. An easy book to read with characters you will remember, long after the last page.
Sarah Russo had moved to New York from a small, country-living, religious Northern California town to follow her music dreams. Her straight-laced parents thought she was only there to attend college. She had been going to classes for a degree in education. But all her spare time was spent trying to make a name in the music industry. Even if the name she was using was not her real name. Just when her band, Endless Hope, played to a sell-out crowd at a bar on Bleecker street, the most horrific imaginable event went down. All her dreams faded away as fast as they could.
Sarah was left without any other choice, but to move back home. She had been left wandering around aimlessly. She wanted to leave, but had nowhere else to go. Her father was the pastor of their small town. This town seemed to be left in the 1950s. He was disdainful of music that uses profanity, loud guitar strings, and the pounding of a drum. If it wasn’t religious music, he didn’t want to hear it. Her father blamed her music for what had transpired to force her back home. She found herself filling the place of her retiring mother as teacher of a kindergarten class. Though teaching wasn’t her dream, she did enjoy the children. When she met a sweet, adorable little girl named Cailin Tyler, she had no way of knowing that this student was fated to chance Sarah’s life forever.
Adam Jacobson was the lead singer of the popular rock band Devil’s Breed. They were known for heavy bass lines, powerful drum solos and most of all the enigmatic, deep, and soulful vibrato voice of their lead singer, Adam Jacobson. Imagine Sarah’s shock to find herself face to face with the singer of her favorite band. Mostly shocked by the fact it happened in her small hometown. And more shocked still by the reason he was here. Once again her life would be changed.
I couldn’t help but compare their story to the movie Footloose. Only that was based on the banning of dancing in a small town. I really adored the main characters of Adam and Sarah. Adam was just swoon worthy. It wasn’t just coincidence that Adam showed up on her classroom step. Sarah left her life in the hands of her faith & fate brought him to her. The ending of OUR SONG is golden!
This was my first Lauren Runow book and it definitely will not be my last. I could not give enough. Single rockstar dad who loves his daughter meets the beautiful kindergarten teacher. Adam’s little girl Cailin stole my heart. This book has so much – the band, the single rockstar, the pastor’s daughter, a small town and so much more that I kept turning the pages hoping it wasn’t the end. I loved all the feels this book gave me. It was a great read!
You Had Me at Love Song, great book!
Lauren has drawn me into loving Rockstar Romances. Sarah is teacher in a small town, who at one time had dreams of her own. Sarah’s world is rocked by Adam and his daughter. Caught between a rock and a hard place as she struggles with what her family wants and her finding her dreams of love and life beyond this small town. I love this book! This book was romantic, funny, sexy, and a great HEA.
THE POWER OF SONG!Lauren Runow
Our Song is such a powerful and beautiful story of love and second chances at your dreams. We all know the power of words and what a difference they make in our lives. Just like the power of a song. Now take both and put them on paper and what you get is pure magic!
The story of Sarah and Adam pulled me in so deep, I could literally feel the characters pain and joy. And you don’t just see their love. You FEEL it deep in your marrow with every turn of the page. I loved these characters. I laughed with them. I cried for them. I hoped and prayed for them to find strength in each other and beat their demons and come out stronger on the other side, together.
Our Song was so much more than just a story. It was a beautiful journey of two souls coming together through a shared passion and finding their own song. This was a home run from Lauren Runow that gives you hope, faith and a firm belief that the impossible is possible with the right person by your side!
