After a devastating accident crushed my dreams, I ended up back in my hometown teaching kindergarten. I was trying to make the best of it. That is, until the world I had to leave behind, showed up in my classroom in the form of a five-year-old little girl. Her father living the exact life I almost had.Adam Jacobson is known as the bad boy of rock. While he and his band tour the world, they leave … they leave a trail of mayhem. What no one knows is behind the music is a caring, straightedge man with a secret — a daughter who the world is about to discover.
When they move to my small town, their secret is blown. He needs my help to keep her out of the media, and with each exchange we grow closer. Only problem is I need to stay away from the memories he ignites, and the temptations he brings my way.
Secrets I’ve kept and thoughts of that fatal night come crashing back into my life. I have to wonder if it was more than fate that brought his little girl into my classroom.

This is a romance between two people who didn’t think they would have what they really wanted in life. Sarah Russo was an up and coming musician until a tragedy took it away from her. She gave up her dream in music to be a school teacher because that was more respectable according to her father and it was what her mother did before she retired. Sarah is a minister’s daughter so this story reminds me of the movie Footloose. Sarah basically changes her life to please her father and she continues to pay for what happened to her in NY when her rising music career was taken away from her.
Adam Jacobson is the lead singer of a very popular band who is known for their outrageous concerts. People believe Adam to actually be the performer he portrays on stage but he is totally the opposite in real life. He lives for his daughter, which no one knows about until she started school in Sarah’s class. Sarah can’t believe that Adam has a daughter and he happened to be her crush when she was younger.
When the 2 meet, they share their love for music and for his daughter. Sarah can’t believe she is getting to know Adam and is surprised and happy to find out who Adam is as a person. Their romance is filled with the love of music, their connection that they had felt since the beginning. Adam’s song writing is filled with inspiration from Sarah and when he finds out what a wonderful and talented voice Sarah has, he writes for her to sing. Sarah feels like herself again when she is around Adam and starts to realize that she can’t deny who she really is just to make her father happy.
When Sarah’s past comes back to haunt her, Adam is there for her all the way and this gives Sarah the push that she needs to stand up for herself and be who she truly was meant to be. This author’s love of music comes through in all her books and I enjoy her writing, her creativity, and her ability to make you feel for the characters as you read the story.
This is the first book I have read by this author and definitely will not be the last. I loved every moment of this story. I connected with characters immediately and left wanting more.
Rock star falls for his daughter’s kindergarten teacher in a backwards, close-minded small town. Caitlin is the star of the book, in my opinion. Adam is an amazing dad, figuring it out as he goes along, protecting his girl the best he can. Sarah gave up her dreams, but gets a second chance at them with Adam by her side, guiding her. I really want more stories about the guys in the band.
Sarah was finally able to spread her wings and pursue her dreams of music while at college. It all comes to a tragic end that leads her back home to become a kindergarten teacher and under the critical eye of her pastor father.
When an adorable girl, Cailin, starts her kindergarten class she notes that her family dynamic is different than the norm. When she finds out that her father is Adam, lead singer to rock band Devils Breed.
These two are so different and yet so similar in the ways that truly matter. This was such a well written book. I enjoyed the dual POV and the way we get to know the characters both separately and then together. Such an amazing story that will be on my reread list for sure.

OMG this book was amazing. It is a must read for sure. I love how it’s not just Adam and Sarah but Cailin who actually makes the story. It was amazing to see Sarah rediscover herself and find out that dreams may not come true the first time but that you should NEVER give up on them.
Loved this book! First book i have read by this author and I will be reading more. Sweet story between Sarah and Adam. Adam helped Sarah fins the life she used to have and love. You will sit down and read in one sitting.

What a great rockstar romance. I admit I’m really picky when it comes to my rockstar books. This one has made it into my favorites. It’s a single dad romance, mixed with a redemption story. It was beautiful to read the progression of the relationship between Sarah and Adam. I highly recommend this one, it was a touching storyline.
Our song is my introduction to Lauren Runow’s writing, and I will going back for more. I love reading Sarah and Adam’s story with his adorable daughter Cailin. I love this single dad romance and am looking forward to reading more from this author.
Rockstar Romance and single dad had me in the blurb. I have never read a Rockstar book that was not good. But this one had my attention from page one. There are not many books that I can read in two days but I could not put it down outside of adulting. I love the authors writing style and it flowed perfectly. Lauren really knows how to tell a story, she had me feeling like I was right there with the characters living the life with them.
I loved the story. It was a sweet and innocent one. After Sarah lost her dream because of a bad accident years before and having Adam come into her life with him living her dream and falling in love with his daughter Cailin from page day one of meeting her in her class she may have some kind of hope of happiness again.
This is my first read by Lauren Runow and it will not be my last. I cannot wait to read more of her work!

I love Our Song!
Sarahs father gave me Footloose-feelings for their small town and I was able to feel everything with her. Adam was unlike anything one would expect from a rock star and a perfect match for Sarah.
I’ve always felt that the lyrics and melodies of songs speak to the musicians who create them and their listeners in all kinds of ways, and the power of music and words is definitely something explored in Lauren Runow’s newest release, Our Song. It’s made clear that music is not just a career that’s made the hero famous; it’s a way for him to express himself…to show the world who he is and what he thinks…and it’s a way for his fans to not only connect with him but also to absorb his words and apply them to their own lives.
Adam Jacobson may appear to be a typical out of control rock star, but there’s definitely more to him that the persona he created for his fans, and it’s the man and father he is beneath his rocker facade that will endear him to readers.
And I love how unexpected Adam’s character is…because while he and his band seem to live up to the outrageous life and antics that the media portrays them to have, Adam knows what truly matters in life and he does his best to put his daughter first, protecting her at all costs.
Sarah used to live her life and dream of her future, but now, since everything shattered around her, she’s merely existing, moving through each day without the same passion or thirst for life that she once had. And her pastor father is not a source of support for her; he’s one of recriminations and damnation, which is not what she needs in order to find happiness and peace again. But a sweet little girl changes things for Sarah and then once that little girl’s father comes into Sarah’s life, everything changes, giving her something that she hasn’t had in quite some time – hope.
Adam and Sarah’s respective pasts absolutely dictate their present, but they help one another to understand that they don’t have to be a constant force of pain and regret, and as they spend more time together, these two realize how things could be, if only they could let go and live in the moment.
The supporting cast of characters all add to the story line and to how readers view the main characters, but Cailin, for sure, steals the show, illustrating the innocence of childhood, the purity of love, and the reason adults can understand what joy is. She’s adorable and more grown up than she should be for somebody her age, but it’s her views on life and love that help both Adam and Sarah to believe again and to look forward to a potential future they can have together.
Our Song is a slow burn romance – one that allows the hero and heroine to truly get to know one another before they step into something bigger, and given who Adam is and what he does for a living, it was the right move to make. This was my first book by Lauren Runow and I’ll definitely be checking out more of her stories because the lessons she teaches through her storytelling and characters are easy to access and understand.

I do love me some rockstar romance and let me tell you, this one did not disappoint! I was hooked from the beginning when I wasn’t tossed into a mosh pit of “sex, drugs, and rock ‘n roll”, per se. I mean, a single dad rockstar who loves his music but his little girl more?? Yes-please-sign-me-up!! There is a flavor of Footloose in this story but it’s not Footloose…you’ll see. This is a slow burn that will have you reading each page just waiting and willing the combustion to finally happen…only to wait some more. But it is totally worth it when it finally does!!
LOOOOOOVED this story/book!!! Rockstar romance in one of my favorite genres of romance, and when I was given the opportunity to read an early copy of Our Song by a new to me author, Lauren Runow, I jumped at the chance. I could not wait for it to hit my Kindle so I could start reading it! And, let me tell you now, once I started this book, I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN!!! Sarah and Adam’s story absolutely blew me away. And Cailin, I just wanted to hug that little girl to bits. OH! MY!! GOSH!!! “Chestnut” and “Sugarplum” … sigh. Sorry Ladies, you will have to read this fabulous story to find out what these two words mean.
I really loved all of the of the characters, well, maybe not all of them all of the time. Sarah’s father for example, there were times, a lot of them in fact, that I wanted to hit him upside his head. He redeemed himself, however when he… Sorry again Ladies, I can’t give any spoilers away. I will say this however, I needed a few tissues during this scene.
One of my favorite things about this story was watching Adam bring Sarah back to really living, bringing her dreams back to life. I will also say this, everybody needs a “Maggie” in their lives.
Yes, I know this is fiction, but, Thank you, Linda, for being there, and loving Adam when he most needed you.
Thank you, Ms. Runow for sharing your wonderful story telling talents with the world. As I stated above, I am a newbie to your book, and I will definitely, be going back to peruse your previous works.
This is a wonderful story of hope, faith, growing, and not letting your dreams die.
Thank you for reading my review. If you love romance, especially Rockstar romance, I know you will love this book. So, go hit up your favorite retailer, purchase this book, and start reading it. I did!!!
I really enjoyed Adam, Cailin, and Sarah’s story. Adam is the lead singer in a rock band, but is also an amazing single father. His little girl, Cailin, is sweet, funny, sassy as heck, super cute and can sing like her daddy. Sarah is her kindergarten teacher but a rock star at heart. The chemistry and intense connection between Adam and Sarah is off the charts but you get a nice slow burn. Their story is full of emotion, laughter, tears, plenty of steam and of course small town drama. Highly recommend checking out this story.

Adam and Sarah’s story is gorgeous. A slow burn that has all the feels. A romantic single dad, a lively five year old and some amazing chemistry. I love the slow build up between Adam and Sarah and how their story plays out!!!
After Sarah’s dreams are shattered she is just getting by but not living. Adam is a single dad and a rock star but he is not what you would expect him to be. When they meet the chemistry is so hot that you can feel it come of the page’s. This is the first book that I have read by Lauren but definitely not the last as it is so well written. I definitely recommend you read this book as it is well worth reading.
I Voluntarily Reviewed an ARC Copy Of This Book.
Our Song is an amazingly emotional read. Sarah, after a tragic event, while going to school studying Education in New York, loses her real dream of singing and has to return to her small town. Her father is the town’s preacher, is very judgmental and disapproving of Sarah’s singing. To satisfy her father and the small minded people in the town, Sarah takes over the kindergarten class from her retiring mother. She suppresses her feelings and forces herself to conform to the narrow minded sensibilities of her father and the town. One of Sarah’s students is a sweet little girl named Cailin. When Sarah meets Cailin’s Dad, she’s shocked to find out that he’s Adam Jacobson, the lead singer of the rock band , Devils Breed, her favorite band. His presence brings back everything that Sarah has lost. Adam and Sarah are drawn to each other, to everyone’s displeasure. Our Song has so many undercurrents. Rigid religious beliefs, and judgmental citizens all conspire against Sarah and Adam. You will fall in love with Cailin and love the relationship Adam has with her. It will have you in tears, and will make you laugh. Do not miss this wonderful book by Lauren Runow
This book was so beautiful. It delivered on the heat and feels. This book pulled a lot of emotions out of me. I was drawn to this book because Adam is a single dad and boy can I tell you I’m so glad I read this one. I devoured this book. I could hardly put it down. I even got frustrated with interruptions because I wanted to see where the journey took Adam and Sarah. Adam’s little girl is just too adorably sassy. The interactions between her and the rest of the characters were some of my favorite parts. Though the scenes between her and Adam will just melt your heart. There are also some sad parts in this one especially when it comes to Sarah and her dreams. She’s an inspiring character through out this book. I’m so happy with the way the book ended and the epilogue it made my heart happy sigh. I can’t recommend this one enough because once you start this book it will hook you right in.
I honestly need more stars. This story was so good. I couldn’t stop reading at all. I was drawn in and kept there throughout the whole story. I cant praise the author enough for how well thought out and written this story is. It was perfection.
