Our Options Have Changed is a full-length standalone contemporary romance, the first in the On Hold series by New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Julia Kent and journalist-turned-fiction-writer Elisa Reed. It is a loose spinoff from Julia Kent’s Shopping for a Billionaire series, with cameo appearances from favorite characters.

This story is a great mix of laugh out loud funny, adorable man-holding baby moments, sweet, sexy, and those all out crazy times with a new baby – especially the first baby. There is some serious in the book, but more than anything, it’s a lighthearted romance with a lot of laughs. The only drawback for me is that it is quite long given the lack of drama and how quickly this pair recognizes their attraction. That aside, I love the characters and their various quirks. Nick’s kids are a hoot, and I don’t know about anyone else, but as a parent of grown children, it seems like the older they get, the more they want to be all up in my business, so I can certainly relate to Nick’s frustration with them and their busybody ways. All in all, Nick and Chloe’s story is a good start to what promises to be a fun and entertaining series.
Chloe is director of design for the O Spa chain, a sophisticated women’s club all about fantasy. The club is trending its way into the next big thing, and Chloe is ready to take on the world. She is about to become a 30 something single mother by adopting. She then meets Nick, with commanding sapphire eyes, wavy blonde hair, and a smile just for her. He is perfect, but he was a single father for 15 years after his wife walked out on the family. His kids are now in college, and he loves his freedom. He likes Chloe more. – Chloe is great. She is a hard worker, likes her job, has a self-absorbed mother, and needs love in her life. Nick is also great. He likes his job, loves his teenagers, is committed and content. Too much of the story is about their jobs and the business. The teenagers are entertaining. I also enjoyed Nick’s conversations with his brother and the teenagers. The book ends abruptly, but this is a series. Chloe and Nick are probably mentioned in other books. I did not like this book enough to buy the remaining series.
This was a good story about two people who fall in love with one about to become an empty nester and the other a single mother with plenty fire between them. Great ending even with the bumps in the road
This is an excellent read! Witty, warm, sexy and so well written, it caught me up and kept my nose to the page right to the end. Nick and Chloe come right off the page as strong, compassionate, intelligent adults who I would love to share a few drinks with…while carefully ogling Nick of course! I always expect, and get, great witty banter from Julia Kent, but Elisa Reed is new to me. A great pooling of talents!
With a wonderful additional cast, Our Options Have Changed is a richly drawn book, populated by great characters, even the meany is a pleasure..I would love scratching her eyes out .
A truly satisfying, 5 star read!
Not what I was expecting, but very enjoyable none the less
One of the best .

This was a enjoyable good read that was well written.
I love Julia Kent but I just couldn’t get into this book. It didn’t grab my interest for the several chapters so I put it down.
Loved this book for its sense of humor and romance. Had to suspend reality a bit, but loved the happy ending.
I really enjoyed the book until the very end. I feel like it cut off just a bit too abruptly. Parts of it were hilarious!
I enjoyed this book, definitely recommend it for adults.
I loved it .
Unrealistic didn’t have patience to continue have 2nd chapter
Good book overall, but the ending seemed unfinished. Very disappointed with the ending.
A refreshing twist to it romance. Laugh out loud funny, but couldn’t help but enjoy the steamy side too
Great read
Loved every minute of this book – didn’t want it to end!!
Would make an excellent film!
Every once in a while a special book lands in my Kindle. OUR OPTIONS HAVE CHANGED is the type of book we hope for: contemporary, witty, realistic with a huge smug of realism. A read not to be missed and a new favorite author for me.
