Having it all is a fantasy, right?Chloe Browne knows all about fantasy. The right guy?
Pfft. Right.

He’s perfect.

I didn’t like it
I loved this book, enough that it has gone to my December-January reading box. I reread this box of books every year because they are so good. Dark and long winter night reading!
I didn’t think I’d like this book at first….a little bit crazy. But the characters were real and the dialogue, both external and internal, was great. And Nick was a keeper for sure.
3.5
Too made up.
I laughed out loud, I cringed, I empathized. Loved having characters with a few years under their belts. Would have gotten 5 stars except for the abrupt ending. Looking forward to the series. Want to know more about Henry and Jemma!
I loved this book, especially reading both of the main characters’ perspectives. I was very happy with the outcome.
It’s a laugh out loud, funny, sexy story! It doesn’t disappoint in any way.
A fun story.
Enter Chole, successful corporate career woman and just starting a family. Add Nick, also a successful business man and on the verge of being an empty nester. Interesting scenario and laugh out loud funny at just the right times. A good book that moves along nicely.
I am a huge fan of Julia Kent’s Billionaire series and this one is equally well written! Not quite as funny, but more than a few giggles. I highly recommend this book series!
A sweet, funny and sexy feel-good story
My first book by Elisa Reed, I only recently read and enjoyed one of the latest Shopping for a Billionaire books by Julia Kent (this is billed as a loose spinoff from that series), so I’ve been keeping my eyes open for more of her books. Since I’m so new to that series, I was pretty oblivious to any characters crossing over into this book, so it didn’t factor into my enjoyment of this story.
Nick and Chloe were great characters; I loved the contrast of the setup here with Chloe set to become a mother for the first time while Nick was newly an empty-nester. And omg, Nick with his (college-age) kids was hilarious: “When you become nostalgic for Justin Bieber, it’s bad.“ Literally, I was cry-laughing. Also having worked in the corporate world, some of those references were so dead on they had me laughing and wincing at the same time.
Plenty of great secondary characters as well, not only Nick’s kids but also other family members and co-workers, plus a character or two in the love-to-hate category. This was a relatively light, fast-moving story that still managed to hit me in the feels.
A sweet, funny and sexy feel-good story not only about the stages of parenting but about loving and making choices. 5 stars

Chloe Browne is a perfectionist. She doesn’t seem to have much control over her professional or personal life lately. Nick Grafton is all about the numbers. That is until someone crosses his path and derails that.
It took me a while to see where the authors were taking things. We get to see a lot from Chloe’s point of view first. It shows how much she has going on in her life. Once Nick entered the picture is when things seem to click into place. The story really picks up when I start to laugh. A lot of that is at Nick’s expense. He has a couple of daughters that seem just a little too curious but that just made me laugh more. Once my laughter switch got turned on is when things changed.
I started to enjoy the rest of the story. This is one case of “good things come to those who wait”. But you will have to be patient. Some people give up on a book too early and this would be one of those cases. The story just had to build up steam – it had to set you up for the two people you will want to get to know better. Getting a good laugh or chuckle right up until the end is never a bad thing either. It left me interested in seeing where this series is going.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
This is the first book from this author that I have read. It was good but I will say it seemed almost to drag on and on.
I loved the characters and the dynamics that they had with each other.
Chloe, I will say is a very strong willed women that knows what she wants and is willing to go after it even if she has to do it alone. When she meets Nick is she willing to take a chance?
Nick, is at the top of his game in work and with his kids. He is also to the point that he is almost to an empty nest and can enjoy not having to supply/support his kids. When he meets Chloe will this all change?
Again overall it was a good book but not my favorite. I will give these authors another chance to see if it changes but it maybe awhile because I like a quicker paced book.
I had no idea when I read this book that the “ending” was missing … as in, you need to read the next book in the series. I almost gave the book a 5 star rating because honestly, it’s a really good story and it’s written very, very well. My rating is lower due to the fact that there is a cliffhanger – maybe I missed that little tidbit in the book’s description or it wasn’t clearly stated – but I usually don’t bother with books that string you along. Despite my disappointment, I can say that the wonderful, well-developed characters, the unique story line and dialog that puts you right in the middle of this story make this book well worth the read. Just be prepared to have to buy the next book to find out what happens at the very end … 🙁
I truly enjoyed reading this book and hope that there will be more to come.
I enjoyed this read, but was left wanting more in the resolution. The main characters are well developed and relatable, and the story line is a modern struggle of working women who struggle with the stresses of balancing career and family. Good read overall.
