I made a mistake.
A huge mistake.
I knew I shouldn’t have left.
The town.
My life.
Him… back in my hometown.
Back in the same place as Nick.
Working for the same damn hospital.
What are the odds?
The universe has pushed us back into a forbidden relationship.
Right in the middle of a crisis.
A lawsuit.
Well, it’s a good thing I’m an attorney.
I can make it go away in a second.
But what about the crisis that I have no control over?
Nick got me pregnant.
The last thing I wanted was an accidental pregnancy.
But could it be the only thing we both need?
Ajme Williams brings you a full-length second chance medical romance with lots of drama, angst, heat, a very sweet HEA and no cliff-hanger. ‘Our Last Chance’ is a part of the Heart of Hope series but stands alone. Books do not have to be read in order.

Yummy fun. That’s just about all you need to know. Ok, well written too and with well done characters. Ok, sexy second chance romance to. Really though, “yummy fun” said it all.
A really great story between Nick and Mia. A first book from this author and it won’t be my last. Couldn’t put it down. Loved every minute of it!!
Our heroine longs for her brother’s best friend, but she left him as it didn’t seem right. Now she is back in the middle of a lawsuit. Can they find a way to make it right between them?
This is something of a second chance romance. The story is well written and easy to read with two fairly complex characters that bring the story to life. Decisions are often difficult and sometimes we are too worried about what other people think. The story has a bit of angst, a bit of steam, and a lot of chemistry making for a heady combination. The result was a fun read and I look forward to more from this author.
Highly recommended

This was my first time reading this author. Our Last Chance features Mia who is a lawyer returning to her small town after her father falls ill. She happens to be the new lawyer for the hospital Nick works at. Not only is he an ex he also used to be her brothers best friend until he learned of their relationship . Even though her brother Eli cut Nick out Nick still keeps tabs on their father.
The hospital has a strict policy about relationships between staff and admin. Eli is also set against them reconnecting. He’s got some deep rooted anger directed straight at Nick, it seems rather intense even though it’s been four years.
The past is a little too tempting and despite the obstacles in their way Mia and Nick can’t help themselves. Not only do the still have a strong physical attraction they realize they still love one another, in fact they’ve only even loved each other and that way all their other relationships have failed.
The characters are well developed, I enjoyed the attention to the smaller details in their relationships. All the supporting characters played their own roles and didn’t just feel like filler. This story was an enjoyable way to spend a couple hours.

The storyline was well written and the characters were so well defined that I was captivated from the very beginning! The chemistry between Nick and Mia kept me totally enthralled until the turn of the very last page!
Four years ago Nick and Mia were in love and were going to start a future together but then Mia’s older brother, Eli, caught them and threw a giant hissy fit. They ended their relationship and Mia went on to the big city to pursue her career in law while Nick went back home to their small town to become an ER doctor. Present day Mia comes home to be near her father since his Parkinson’s is getting worse. She is hired to work at the inhouse counsel for the hospital that Nick works at. Drama ensues because neither one is really over the other.
I really struggled with this one. Everything felt forced to me. I am not sure what it was really but I just didn’t feel like anything flowed naturally. I am all for steam in a book but it just seemed like that was all there was between Nick and Mia. I didn’t really get an substance between them. The story line had great potential and I really respected that it was more than just a romance novel, the suspense aspect of the story was great but it was never ending. I am a paralegal and I know that investigations sometimes take time but Nick and Mia just seemed to keep saying/thinking the same things over and over. And then the blurb with the accidental pregnancy? That was totally unnecessary to have in the blurb since it wasn’t even mentioned until the epilogue. Extremely misleading for those who jump at accidental pregnancy books (me, that’s me). I feel bad with this review since I did feel like I needed to know what happened and was intrigued the entire time but it just didn’t hit me with the feels.
A new author for me and I really enjoyed this read. This is the first book in the Heart of Hope series. This story is about Mia and Nick. Mia’s father is sick so she returns to her hometown. Mia is a lawyer and is representing the town’s hospital. Nick, Mia’s brothers ex best friend, is a doctor at the hospital. This is a second chance love story. I feel like a few extra characters were Introduced that will be in upcoming stories. I enjoyed this story. They have hurdles to overcome but they do just that.

I found myself thinking about the characters and anticipating when I could get back home to find out what happens next. For me that’s a good sign of a good book. I loved everything about the book and I’m glad that I was introduced to this author.

ARC review I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. In gold rush lake Mia Parker is back to help take care of her father who has parkerson. When she gets a job at the hospital where the love off her life dr. Nick foster is. Awesome story

In this book we meet Mia Parker and Nick Foster. Mia and Nick are college friends turned into something more. That ended in college though when after they had sex for the first and only time her brother came in and ruined it all. The two were never the same after that and after all the discussion about returning to their hometown they ended up going separate ways. Mia ended up in the city working as a lawyer like she always dreamed and Nick well Nick came home and became a doctor. Little did they know years later they would both be in this small town again. At first neither can believe their luck that the one person they can’t get over is there only for them to realize that one person is still unattainable. Will these two find their HEA or will the hurtles of the past become hurtles in the present that will still keep them apart?
This is an amazing story by this author. These characters become almost like people you know in your real life. There are twists and turns that will have you on the edge of your seat. There is so much more I want to tell you. However I don’t want to ruin the story for any other readers. I will say this has romance, intrigue, and moments you will want to slap someone. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
I don’t usually read a lot of contemporary romance but this was an interesting book with well developed characters and an interesting plot. There’s lots of drama and twist and turns to hold the readers attention as well as chemistry between the main characters that just sizzles. Thank you Ajme for an email interesting reading experience.
This is a great story with wonderful characters that once I started I didn’t want to stop. This is the first book I’ve read from this writer & it won’t be the last.

4.5 stars
This is the first book that I have read from this author and it won’t be my last. Nick and Mia were together when they were younger that is until her brother put a stop to it. Years later, they meet up again when they are both back in town and the chemistry and attraction from then comes rushing back full force. Loved them together. Great second chance romance. I can’t wait to read more from this author.

Steamy second chance between former small town lovers
I’m usually not into second chance romance but this one was really quite good. Mia Parker and Dr. Nick Foster had been together during their graduate school years until Nick’s BFF Eli who also happened to be Mia’s brother found out. For some reason Eli began his hatred of Nick from that moment on and that hatred proves to be detrimental into this story.
Mia has come home from her “big city” job as an attorney to help with her ill father. Wow! The fireworks when she meets up again with the handsome and cocky ER physician, Dr. Nick Foster. They can’t help themselves. Whenever they are together…yep, more fireworks, whether on the sofa, over her desk and even in a bed!
What happens when Nick has an unfortunate event occur in the ER to a well-beloved member of this little town? Fireworks, but of a very different sort. This story rings so true to a small town love relationship when everybody thinks they have a say, positive or negative. Great characters. I had a hard time liking Eli b/c Ms. Williams wrote him so despicably well;-) The altercation in chapter 29 was a fist pump moment for me. And, there was a very touching scene at the cemetery. Best darn ending ever!
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book through Booksprout and it comes highly recommended. I give it 4.5 deliciously steamy, poignant and witty stars.
Our Last Chance by Ajme Williams is a wonderful story that I have read. This is book number one in this wonderful start to a brand new series writen by a brand new author. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about small town and contemporary romance.

A wonderful read
Mia always wanted out of their little town, and she got her way. But now she’s back because her father needs her. When she sees her old flame Nick on her first day, she realizes that the flame never died. But now she represents the hospital they both work for and there have been accusations of malpractice. Can she separate the two? Does she even want to? And what is her brother’s problem with the two of them being together – still?
Nick never wanted to leave their small town and he came back after medical school. He realized Mia wanted out and let her go. But she’s back now. Will she stay for her family if not for him? And why does it feel like the hospital wants him out after his years of service?
This story grabbed me from the start. I had to find out the answer to everything in this book. Mia and Nick had so much that they thought was over when in reality it had never ended. Nick had to go through a lot of problems from the start, while Mia wanted to be their for him but couldn’t. Mia had to face that she couldn’t let Nick go once again and I’m glad she did. I received a free copy of this book and reviewed voluntarily.
