Oscar Davenport always wins. Always. He doesn’t come second, and he sure as hell doesn’t lose. He’s founded and sold three tech companies, netting him almost a billion dollars. He ran a hedge fund worth hundreds of billions—until he got bored. His latest project, Six, a nightclub in LA is another winner. It’s both a successful business and a playground full of playmates. He’s never met an … met an obstacle he couldn’t overcome or a woman he couldn’t have. Until now.
Grace Evans is the kind of girl you’d find curled up with a good book on a Saturday night—at least, usually. This Saturday night is different. This Saturday night she’s gotten all done up, in a dress she can barely breathe in and heels she can barely walk in. She had to. She had to venture into the lair of the enemy.
The enemy is Oscar Davenport, and his lair is his swanky nightclub. When she lays eyes on him, she’s ready to believe he’s the devil incarnate. His wicked smile, his beautiful eyes—everything about him is an invitation to sin. He moves with the grace and arrogance of a big cat about to pounce. Unfortunately, he’s moving straight toward her. He’s singled her out as his prey. He’s moving in for the kill.
Little does he know that she isn’t about to surrender; in fact, he’s in for the fight of his life.
This book is intended for adult readers 18+

Oscar by SJ McCoy is the First book in The Davenports Series. This is the story of Oscar Davenport and Grace Evans.
Oscar is all about winning and keeping himself entertained. Grace is a strong women looking to keep her Center going and when Oscar threatens that she moves in to make him change his mind.
Oscar made a deal on a lot that he hoped to open a club at not knowing what the lot had meant to Grace it was her Center for kids and Vets. Along with buying that lot it was enough for Grace’s boss to retire so she will be looking for another job too.
Grace goes forward to see what she can do to keep her Center going which leads her back to Oscar.
Really enjoyable easy read.
S.J McCoy has earned her place on my “must read” shelf. I count her among my favorite romance authors to include Tess Thompson, Ava Miles, and even Nora Roberts. I love how she can take a billionaire nightclub owner like Oscar Davenport, “an arrogant prick”, to most who know him, and make you see a softer, loving very real human being. S.J. is not afraid to tackle some hard issues, the foster system, the plight of returning veterans, even mental health, not in a way that depresses you, but in a way that gives you hope. In fact I read her books and find myself more inspired to get involved even though I am usually such an introvert. As she crafts her stories she makes you believe, that human beings can rise above the turmoil and toils of life, and become better people because of it. To read about Oscar and Grace, is to know them. You share their lives and dreams and they become real to you! S.J McCoy excelled at making characters relatable. She writes Oscar in such a way, you are drawn into his world and his happily ever after becomes yours. I Can’t wait to read the rest of the series! Pick up Oscar book 1, of the Davenport series. It is well worth the read.
I loved this series. They can be read as stand-alone but read them in order as they feature 3 brothers. The main characters continue throughout.
Ohh this book! This story was so good! Thank you!
I really loved these characters and their growth throughout the story!!! I went and got other books from this talented writer!
Great read!
The best one I’ve read in quite awhile kept me going and just didn’t let go till I was on the last page great writing .
Awesome story great read from start to finish couldn’ put it down characters were so life like and exciting that stayed up all night. When good they are best to start and just keep going to get into the pace of book took 3 hours but worth every minute was stellar. Thank you Carmen
Oscar was a great book. One I would pick up and read again.
This was the first book that I read by this author and it was very good. The storyline was great and the characters were written very well. Good read!!
Good book, quick read, likeable characters.
Well written
This was a romantic read but nothing unforgettable.
The author had an interesting concept here but it fell a little flat for me. It simply felt like rather the building up the story the author place excessive sentences of their thoughts or how good looking they found each other. Then there’s the matter how much things were repeated. I cannot tell you how many times I read “arrogant prick” or that smile. And what finally killed this book completely for me was how skittish and bipolar Grace was compared to Oscar. Oh and the fact that he brought her to meet his parents within two weeks of meeting each other. No thanks!!
I liked this story and enjoyed Oscar. His involvement with the community center was the only part I didn’t care for, the whole thing was vague and being a billionaire who was smart the whole thing is half developed. I liked the supporting characters and overall the story was good.
A new favorite author. Can’t wait to read more.
Love the characters of Oscar and Grace. They are on separate paths of life, but very attracted to each othet. Happy ending in the end for Oscar and Grace, but also love the life pattern change that benefits so many people.
Great little mini escape!!
It was a heart-warming story with great characters and an inspirational story.
Quite the page turner, loved the alpha male and strong female characters. Great HEA
Great story!
