A part of history that I knew little about.
At first I thought oh no not a love story but this was not that kind of book. Very historical!
Very good way to learn about history of the war
Read the whole series! It is fantastic!
I can imagine being uprooted to what you’ve known and separated from your loved ones because no one can help families so splitting them seemed an only option and how not being too a touched was frowned upon as if one was too weak when being human war has done a lot unnecessary tragic loss and displacement of families this opened my eyes to heroes fighting for the defenseless children around the globe thank you I enjoyed it so much between tears and laughs
Have not read it yet.
Factual accounts of life in earlier times. Not an easy life in the 1800s.
This is a quick read book – easy to get through each chapter. I was excited to follow the characters and to learn about this aspect of our American past that I was not aware of before. I will probably read the rest of the series to follow the characters.
A slice of history most of s know nothing about.
Ok
The Title is apt. Poor immigrant children from big cities are adopted via a train delivery and adoption service in a rather caviler manner. But it all ends well and was nice to read.
Loved this story! It brought History to life! The tragic things that happened were tastefully done. I highly recommend this series!
A very good read..especially liked reading about interesting subject…no four-letter words made it even more enjoyable!! Too many writers are using words not suitable..like just writing them to ‘go with the flow’ more than the story needs.
Eye opener to what the poor children endured on their Orphan Train journeys. Story was well told.
Very much liked it
Great story of orphan kids!
Learned about the orphans in that time period
Informative about that time in history
Am very glad I read this book, I originally got it for insight to the orphan trains; am working on genealogy and have a relative from the 1870’s that may have been on a train (he was taken to raise”)
Easy read, no repeats. Semi surprise ending. I cried at times esp concerning Jacob and Lizzie.
Although I thoroughly enjoyed the story, a book can stir up things in you past you want to forget.
