Orion Steelbane is the meanest, most augmented gunslinger in the West. It’s best to stay off his radar, but when he saves my life, I lose that option forever. Orion doesn’t do anything for free, including rescuing distressed damsels, so now I am in the alpha outlaw’s debt – and Orion knows exactly how he wants to take his payment. My rebellion and Orion’s passion go hand in hand. Every time I defy … hand.
Every time I defy him, we get one step closer to his bed.
I might even be falling in love, if it is possible to love a man like him.
Or if he could ever love me back…

If Loki Renard has taught me anything, it’s to always expect two things. First, there has to be a sexual chemistry that can be felt off the page and two, always expect the unexpected. “Orion’s Belt” guarantees both of those in spades! I don’t want to give a synopsis of the book because if you’re like me, you’re going to want to read every delicious word for yourself. And the ending? OMG, ask me if I was reading with my mouth hanging open! Eyes wide, mouth open, you could’ve knocked me out of my chair. There was no way I saw that coming. This was absolute perfection and I can’t wait to read Paris’ story.
I had a great time and was highly entertaining with each turn of the page of this read. Orion the dominant male and Josie his sassy woman’s characters are well developed and engaging and the storyline flowed smoothly from beginning to the end.

Josie and Orion were so entertaining!
As always, Loki gave us a book that was intense and so hot! Meeting Orion in the terrible circumstances she did, made all the miserable things she loved through worth it.
I loved their story.
I cant wait to see what Loki will have for us next.
Happy reading!

Loved this book!
Sci-Fi western world brought to life – A thoroughly entertaining read, as always
—>>>This sci-fi western world is wonderfully brought to life on the planet Cabbage Patch and begins rolling when one woman is spotted by an outlaw and his gang in definite dire straits, requiring immediate intervention. But Orion has wisely already taken Josie’s measure and recognizes the worth of this independent and feisty woman, who proves she is more than suited to go on the run by his side, even though her most fervent wish is to get off this backwater colony and get a new start on life, away from the corrupt backwater colony and all the people she’s come across. A thoroughly entertaining read, as always!
I love the alien romances. This was totally different. It was an alien western which made it pretty darn funny. I recommend it.
Perfect!!
OMG I just loved Orion and Josie’s story! Orion is your ultimate “bad boy” and Josie is sassy, strong, kickass and a survivor!
This western sc-fi themed story is action packed, full of great banter, chemistry, heat, discipline, twists and turns and a great surprise ending I couldn’t see coming but absolutely loved!!
This was a joy to read and I couldn’t put it down till I was done!! Ms. Renard has delivered an absolute gem of a story!!
I would love to see more of Paris down the road……..
This is such a great read. I loved the connection with the previous series. Orion falls hard for Josie. This couple is absolutely wonderful, completely incendiary, and hot as hades. The action in this tale starts off with a bang and never lets go until the very end. And the humor is perfect.
I’m a huge fan of LR’s books. They are usually on my must-read lists. This book was no different. LR does the alpha-alien theme like no other and she can write a good steamy scene too. Her books usually have the darker themes (some light BDSM, spanking, maybe some dubcon), but the female characters are always fiesty little firecrackers. This book though was a little lighter on the darker themes. Yes, there was a spanking scene but only the one and that was after an incident. The ‘alpha-male’ character, Orien, was the most mild of any of her male characters that I have read from her. He was very sympathetic of what Josie went through (while still being an @$$). It was a strange dichotomy. Don’t get me wrong I like the story, but I was thrown off by Orien’s character I think since I knew what to expect from previous characters. Maybe it tainted my view of this character. I thought it was fun that LR tied in this world in to the Scythkin world of previous books. It was like a full circle.

This is not what I expected and was surprised even more at the end! Loki Renard gives us one heck of a joy ride with this SciFi Western, yes, with outlaws, gunslingers, damsels tied to the train tracks, even carnivorous horses (what?). Josie needs rescuing and Orion is there to save her from the bad guy sheriff. I had so much fun reading this book, it was funny, sassy, steamy, and had a one big surprise at the end. With your KU subscription, it’s free to read and don’t pass it up.
I received an ARN and this is my honest review.
I love these human and alien books that Loki writes flawlessly.
The chemistry between Orion and Josie is instantaneous and combustible.
They partner up to achieve both of their wishes and dreams and the outcome is beautiful.
Outlaws in space?
This book is a fast moving story that will have you cheering for the “bad guys” and that the evil oppressors get what’s coming to them. This book has you believing that love can blossom anywhere. I would recommend this book to those that aren’t triggered by spankings. The main characters were made for each other.
This book blew me away because I was so not expecting the way this story turned out!! I mean that in the best way possible. The story hooked me from the beginning with Josie and Orion’s chemistry. Josie appears to be some damsel in distress but she really isn’t, she has a backbone of steel and a fiery and sassy personality. Orion is an outlaw just wanting some peace. I cannot put the story down once I started it. I can’t wait for more adventures from this author!!
Humans from the 1880’s were pulled through time and ended up on a different planet and created a colony called Cabbage Patch. Orion is a wanted outlaw here. Josie is a young woman who is trying to live. Orion rescues Josie and decides to help her. But Josie is an independent woman and doesn’t really want his help. So, Orion needs to use his belt to make her submit. But he soon realizes that pain is not a bad thing for Josie.
I enjoyed this story. The world that the author built is different. We have people who eat cabbage and slugs, mmm….delicious! There are carnivorous horses! It was a fun ride though to the end. There is a HEA.

Poor Josie is tied to the train tracks…who would EVER imagine themselves there?! Luckily for her Orion and his boys come to her rescue…but they might’ve bitten off more than they can chew!
Josie keeps Orion on his toes, while he keeps his belt on her…..
This book is like Westworld and I really loved it! Old West with Sci-fi, how cool is that?!?! There is some serious action, some HOT spankings and ya might even get to see Tyank at some point (remember our neighborhood Scythkin).
I’m excited to see what Loki has in store for us next!
A great western with a cyborg twist. Orion, the outlaw, discovers Josie tied to the railroad tracks as a train comes closer. After saving her, they head to her fathers ranch but danger lurks along the way. The story has a corrupt sheriff, a young girl on her own, an outlaw and his gang and a ruling alien race. The story is a good read, entertaining and one I would recommend.
This book is full of old west adventure, angst, and caring. It is connected to government control and cowboy rebellion. The important thing is the people we meet and their interaction.
Josie is about to be murdered by a slimy sheriff, who needs her dead. Orion is a bandit just off a heist, riding into town with his posse, when he discovers Josie tied to the train tracks. Of course, he saves her in the nick of time and takes her with him. I love the way strong, sassy Josie tries to out-maneuver Orion, and I love the way Orion will have none of it and takes control. He is intrigued by Josie’s spunk and her reaction to his punishment. They are both drawn to each other in a very hesitant, protective manner.
This story moved quickly through difficulties and warfare. But the love scene was slow and careful and full of comfort, exploration, acceptance and passion.. Two souls finding each other
Exciting and very entertaining!
Nothing like reading an exciting wild west love story with lots of sci-fi undertones. Completely thrilling from beginning to end and so very entertaining.
Josie and Orion are funny, witty, exciting and sexy characters! There is no end to their entertaining banter and their chemistry was intense. Josie makes sure everyone knows she’s no damsel in distress and Orion makes sure to teacher her some valuable lessons in punishment.
What a fun and exciting journey this amazing author takes us on with this story. I loved every second of it.
The writing and editing in this novel was well done with few if any typos that I caught in the ARC version. The world building was quite vibrant, with the dusty world and carnivorous horses, especially, really coming alive. This novel is set in the same universe as the author’s previous scythkin romances. The characterization in this novel was great, with both the hero and heroine being vibrant individuals. The development of the romantic relationship was compressed because of all the action sequences combined with the short length, but it still developed organically despite that. The plot was quite exciting, with a lot of things happening in this novel, and the pacing meant I was rapidly turning pages wanting to know what was going to happen next. There was relatively little angst in this novel and very high stakes, which tends to be one of my preferred narrative structures for a romance novel. This novel uses the Criminal Hero trope and the Road Trip trope. The kink scenes were fairly mild but still steamy. The world building in this novel rates five stars, and the plot and pacing rates four stars, with the characterization rating four stars and the development of the romantic relationship rating three stars, for a combined score of four stars. This novel has a Happy Ever After ending instead of a cliffhanger, so that is a big plus. I recommend this romance to readers who enjoy BDSM romance and the TV show Firefly. I will not be buying myself a keeper copy of this novel, I don’t think. However, I may change my mind later.

Oh my goodness! Loki Renard has done it again, from the first page to the last this was a fast reading action packed sci fi adventure set in old west, was totally impossible to put down! Poor Josie’s going to die she just knows it, tied to the railroad tracks and left there as a train roars down the tracks. If not for my hero (sigh) Orion who shows up and saves me, I think, he’s an outlaw, but there’s just something about him, and now the fun has just begun, between this headstrong fiesty woman and a man who’s as tough as they come, and a love that’s waiting to happen.
