The #1 New York Times Bestseller (October 2017) from the author of The Da Vinci Code. Robert Langdon, Harvard professor of symbology, arrives at the ultramodern Guggenheim Museum Bilbao to attend the unveiling of a discovery that “will change the face of science forever.” The evening’s host is Edmond Kirsch, a forty-year-old billionaire and futurist, and one of Langdon’s first students. But the … Langdon’s first students.
But the meticulously orchestrated evening suddenly erupts into chaos, and Kirsch’s precious discovery teeters on the brink of being lost forever. Facing an imminent threat, Langdon is forced to flee. With him is Ambra Vidal, the elegant museum director who worked with Kirsch. They travel to Barcelona on a perilous quest to locate a cryptic password that will unlock Kirsch’s secret.
Navigating the dark corridors of hidden history and extreme religion, Langdon and Vidal must evade an enemy whose all-knowing power seems to emanate from Spain’s Royal Palace. They uncover clues that ultimately bring them face-to-face with Kirsch’s shocking discovery…and the breathtaking truth that has long eluded us.

If you like Dan Brown books. It is a Dan Brown book. He claims all of the science is real but he talked about a few things in my own field where he got the details wrong so…
It was pretty good. The authors disdain for religion, like in the other books, comes out loud and clear and is getting a little tired. But, I needed something to read for a long flight and this fit the bill.
A bit disturbing, but a page-turner, as all of Dan Brown novels.
So much to learn. So few books educate in an entertaining way.
Nah. I guess I’m past my Dan Brown stage.
Dans stories are always good
A fu caper that I read during a trip to Barcelona. Fun to read about places I was seeing.
Riveting. It has been some time since a book held my interest. This is the first I have request from traveling library. Will now look into other of his books.
Not his best but still a good read
Good premise and artful suspense but final resolution is disappointing
Kind of a repeat of other Robert Langdon books. Be sure you are near your computer to look up all the places in Spain where this adventure takes place.
Am in the middle of this book, so far it is interesting but not great.
Not Dan Brown’s best book, but it gives you something to think about.
Keeps you on the edge of your seat wanting to know more. Another terrific Robert Langdon adventure.
Typical Dan Brown. Build up was great. Kept me page turning. The end was kind of disappointing.
Origin by Dan Brown is an exciting novel in the Robert Langdon series. It deals with evolution in the past and far into the future. It also has an AI character who is an integral part of the story. The middle of the big drags a little, but the beginning of the book and the end of the book are so interesting it more than makes up for the middle. I recommend this book to Dan Brown fans and those interested in evolution.
A friend bought this book as a hard cover and they couldn’t finish it. Passed on to another friend who quit after 75 pages. Passed on to me, an avid Brown fan, and I forced myself to read it. It was torture. Or beyond ! What happened to Dan Brown? I was way ahead of the story line because I assumed the worst direction it could go and that is the way it went. AWFUL.
I love the Robert Langdon books and this one did not disappoint. I was held in suspense from the first few pages to the final results.
As always, Dan Brown manages to make his readers feel involved with the characters. Learning about the Spanish royalty and rich artistic history, in such a “page-turnjng” format, made it difficult to put the book down! Highly recommend!
Wow! This is the best book I’ve read in a long time…one of the few that I haven’t wanted to put down at night. Fiction, but oh so close to reality!
