The #1 New York Times Bestseller (October 2017) from the author of The Da Vinci Code. Robert Langdon, Harvard professor of symbology, arrives at the ultramodern Guggenheim Museum Bilbao to attend the unveiling of a discovery that “will change the face of science forever.” The evening’s host is Edmond Kirsch, a forty-year-old billionaire and futurist, and one of Langdon’s first students. But the … Langdon’s first students.
But the meticulously orchestrated evening suddenly erupts into chaos, and Kirsch’s precious discovery teeters on the brink of being lost forever. Facing an imminent threat, Langdon is forced to flee. With him is Ambra Vidal, the elegant museum director who worked with Kirsch. They travel to Barcelona on a perilous quest to locate a cryptic password that will unlock Kirsch’s secret.
Navigating the dark corridors of hidden history and extreme religion, Langdon and Vidal must evade an enemy whose all-knowing power seems to emanate from Spain’s Royal Palace. They uncover clues that ultimately bring them face-to-face with Kirsch’s shocking discovery…and the breathtaking truth that has long eluded us.

I read this through a library copy. This was a good romp through art, architecture, symbolism, and religious cults with an entwined mystery. I guessed “whodunnit” early on but it was still a page turner until I knew for sure. It kind of drags on at the end but I would still recommend it. Be sure to look up some of the mentions for visuals as you go. Once again Dan Brown manages to bring various existing entities into a cohesive whole in this well told story.
Another page turner by Dan Brown, taking his beloved character Robert Langdon to further heights. They story envelopes around the main character saving his friend’s integrity as well as cherishing his last requests, after a surprising event at an art museum. If you like mystery and suspense, this story hones in on both!
Wonderful book, especially if you are lucky enough to be reading it while you are in Barcelona visiting the incredible Segrada.
Definitely holds your interest. A typical Dan Brown.

I have read the davinci code and this one. I loved them both. It is the kind of thriller I really enjoy. I like the fictional and nonfiction genre. He’s an excellent writer and keeps the reader focused.
I read this book back in 2017/2018, right around the turn of the year. My memory of the book is still fresh, as it leaves quite the impression. I enjoyed continuing on Robert Langdon’s tales, this being the latest story in the series. I don’t want to give anything away, but the plots and sub-plots were really entertaining.
Absolutely one of the most enjoyable reads.
Dan Brown has excelled himself with this latest thriller. I thoroughly recommend the book to thriller readers. Hardly a page goes by without a surprise twist or turn, or nick of time event. Well up to Dan’s usual standard.
I LOVE GOOD BOOKS AS WELL AS GOOD WRITERS BECAUSE I AM A ALSO WRITER, THOUGH I’M YET TO PUBLISH MINE. THE BOOK ORIGIN BY DAN BROWN IS AN AMAZING BOOK AND I NEED GOOD CONTENTS TO COMPLETE THE BOOK I AM CURRENTLY WORKING ON…. HOWEVER READING SEEING THE BOOK ORIGIN JUST GAVE ME AN INSIGHT AND I HOPE TO WORK WITH SUCH A GREATER WRITER SOMEDAY!
dan is a genius
Weak ending
Dan Brown is amazing. The research that had to be done to make this thriller accurate and informative makes me incredulous. This is a page turners. He pretty much avoids cliches. I love the moralistic ending.
I love how Dan Brown meshes religion and science and puts together various pieces to solve the puzzle by the end of the book.
The wonderful accents of the narrator made this audiobook more entertaining.
Another great Dan Brown book.
This book will take you on a wild ride of emotions, and have you wondering far after it’s last page.
I’m a big fan of Dan Brown and his ability to describe the details of actual places. This story takes place in Barcelona, a place I’d love to visit. I was fascinated with his ability to intertwine A.I. with religious conspiracy theories about the origin of humankind. The plot twists kept me intrigued and I found myself completely attached to Winston. I would never have guessed the ending. This is a must read and the audio book is outstanding!
A believable near-future tale. Dan Brown raises the bar yet again with cutting edge technology in Origin, a fast paced, thought provoking, and very enjoyable read.
I really enjoyed reading this book. I really liked the story line and the plot twists. It kept me going right from the beginning.
Loved the book!! I have read all of Dan Brown’s book so far with this one as the latest. Can’t wait till the next one comes out.
