WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT ORGANIZED FOR S’MORE DEATH
“This was one of the best books in the series. Once again, Kate gets involved in a murder mystery and it was fun to read, from finding the body to picking up clues along the way. And the camping tips at the beginning enhanced my reading pleasure. Ritter knows how to tell a story that captivates…” Dru’s Book Musing
“LOVED it. The best part of any good book is spending time with the character, and Kate and Meg are two of my favorites. Their warmth, casual humor, and intelligence draw me just as they would in real life… Already can’t wait for the next one!” Jeanie J., Amazon reviewer

I loved reading more of Meg, Kate and their families—they are wonderful characters! As always, the organizing tips are interesting and clever. A simple camping trip becomes complicated when finding a dead body interrupts their family fun getaway at the cabin. The dialog between the friends and their family is so natural and normal— which is why Kate and Meg appeal to me. A fun, fast read.

Synopsis:
Who knew camping could be so deadly…
A family outing in a national forest seemed like the best kind of R&R to Meg Berman. Even Kate McKenzie was convinced after learning a fully equipped cabin was part of the plan. When a scavenger hunt in the woods turns up a dead body, however, the natural beauty around them takes a decidedly sinister twist. Worse, the police suspect one of them as the prime suspect. They not only must get off the police radar–but at the same time stay out of the killer’s crosshairs and keep their families safe.

Review:
The characters were well rounded and well developed. I really enjoyed that Kate and Meg were older women who have families. That was a nice change of pace from most of the protagonists that are twenty-something and single. It felt like I was watching neighbors pack for a trip and then I got to take the trip with them. You can tell that the families are very close and get along well.
The writing style flows smoothly and the book is a quick easy read. The author is very talented in her descriptive writing and I found myself pulled into the story from the very beginning. The mystery was well plotted and there were enough clues to keep my guessing until the very end.
I really enjoyed the tips at the beginning of each chapter. I thought they were very helpful. I especially liked the one about car sickness. I knew to stay in the front seat but I did not know about squeezing your left thumb. Since I get carsick, that was very helpful.
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a well plotted cozy mystery. I have not read any of the other books in this series, but that is something I plan to remedy.
What a fun (fast for me) read! The story starts out with an old New England proverb, that I have heard most of my life, and then jumps right in to the story. This time, Kate and Meg are taking a little time off – a camping trip with the family that is a teeny bit out of Kate’s comfort zone. Never fear! Meg and Kate’s husband Keith are there to help her conquer her OCD fears/tendencies and get thru this with flying colors. I don’t want to tell you too much about the story but you KNOW these two find trouble; they can’t help it. And I am glad they are the ones dealing with all the “outdoor-sy-ness” and not me. Do enjoy the kids as well – gah, you can hear them bickering, just like a normal family. Kate and Meg think quickly on their feet and you will enjoy this latest story.
LOVED it. The best part of any good book is spending time with the character, and Kate and Meg are two of my favorites. Their warmth, casual humor, and intelligence draw me as much as they would in real life. I also enjoy watching the interaction between the couples. Things aren’t always smooth, especially for Meg and Gil, but they show that they still love each other.
I just went my first camping trip with them. It didn’t turn out as planned when those murder magnets I adore found a body of a jerk. I admit that Meg did want to kill him but she didn’t want him dead for real! Ritter Ames’s special magic strikes again. I can’t wait for the next one!
