A May to December romance that will make you believe in love. Widow Maggie Regan has been through one of the most horrendous events in United States history. Even moving as far away from the aftermath hasn’t made that day fade from her memory. He paints to help cope with the tragic events that took his sweetheart from him.
During one of his painting sessions at a small park, he meets Maggie. Her warm smile, soft-spoken words, and her hospitality pull him in, but she’s a lot older than him. He brushes it off as just a silly feeling.
Maggie can’t hide the attraction she feels when she’s around Trey. The soft, yet daring hold he has on her heart alarms her. He’s so much younger than her.

I’m originally from the Eugene Oregon area so reading about areas I’m familiar with was interesting. I read the book on a hot afternoon in Mexico. Hard to remember the rainy days of Oregon where I grew up. A page turner kind of book for me.
I didn’t read the other books in this series, but I could understand this story perfectly.
Maggie Regan lost her husband in the Twin Towers on 9/11. Not wanting to stay close to memories, she moved with her daughter from NY to Eugene, Oregon.
Trey Simmons lives in San Francisco, having suffered the loss of his fiancee during the 9/11 attacks as well.
Seventeen years after their losses, they meet in Eugene and soon begin to approach. Despite the age difference, they discover many things in common and the attraction only increases over time.
Will both give love a chance, or will the difference of age and the tragedies they have suffered prevent them from being happy?
It’s a well written story with interesting characters. I recommend the reading.
In this gentle romance set against the backdrop of one of the most horrific events in American history, two sad people find a connection they thought they would never experience again. Maggie relocates with her daughter to small town Eugene to find peace and comfort in a beautifully park-like area. Trey, similarly finds his way to Eugene where he allows the solitude to bring solace too his aching heart through his painting. Taking a chance, Maggie introduces herself to Trey and they find they have far more in common that they could have imagined. Whilst the attraction between them is strong and very real, they are faced with the difference in their ages and unresolved pain that lingers on in their hearts. However, one thing is certain: they both need to move on and rediscover themselves. The story is beautifully written, full of emotional and tentative feelings as Maggie and Trey wade through their insecurities to reach each other’s hearts. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Oregon Obsession is a May-December romance with Maggie being the December. This is a touching story of two people who both lost someone significant in New York on 9/11. Neither Trey nor Maggie have really been active participants in life since that day seventeen years before our story. I love the emotions portrayed as two lonely people slowly come alive again. It was very hard to put this book down. I highly recommend this sweet romance.
What a wonderful love story! Oregon Obsession by Debbie White starts in New York, briefly touching on 9/11. The book then moves to Oregon as we learn more about what happened in New York. We also learn more about the peaceful life Maggie found in Oregon.
Trey finds peace painting in the park behind Maggie’s house. He is from San Francisco but also has a history in New York on 9/11. Two lonely souls accepting the past to be able to move into the future. I couldn’t put this book down!
Good interesting story. Not sure in this day and age if it was wise for a lady to start talking to someone she doesn’t know like this in a secluded area. Not sure it was realistic, but it wasn’t a bad read.
What a touching story that will take you full circle with two wonderful characters that both lost people they loved during September 11th. I enjoyed the real emotions of the characters and their feelings and struggles with life and being lonely. It makes you wonder about the real victims of that day and how they are doing all these years later. I also enjoyed fate stepping in for them as they were going through the motions of life but not seeming to really participate in life. I liked the May -December romance and the surprises the author managed to weave into this poignant story. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
