I love a world where crossovers happen and Lexi Blake now has a delicious crossover happening between her Masters and Mercs, Lawless, and now Courting Justice series. This makes me just as happy as when I watch all my Chicago shows (Fire, Med, Justice-although it was cancelled let’s not discuss about how disappointed I was). Anyway, Order of Protection brings all of Lexi’s worlds together to help bring security, order, and lawfulness into these characters lives to help right their wrongs as only Lexi’s strong characters can do.
Henry Garrison is known as The Monster of Manhattan. A lawyer known for getting horrible people off over and over again, his success in the courtroom is unparalleled only to the demise of his career. A nasty divorce to a potential oscar winning actress threw him in the entertainment spotlight and unfortunately also threw him in a cycle of drinking. Now on the road to recovery, dragging his career, his life, and his liver out of the gutter he’s trying to start over. What he needs are some clients. What he needs is some good fortune. He doesn’t exactly get what he wished for, but desperate times call for desperate measures.
Taylor Winston-Hughes or Win as she prefers to be called by those who really know her was raised by her uncle when her parents died in an accident. This isn’t what makes Win unique, what makes Taylor Winston-Hughes unique is the fact that she’s a billionaire heiress. On top of being an heiress Win foolishly was also on a reality TV show with some of her friends which lead to Win ending up in rehab, not for drugs or alcohol, but for an eating disorder. Finally on the mend Win has left the show, is looking towards the future, and has taken her life back from the very brink of death. She has everything to live for, so who could possibly be out to kill her?
Henry and Win desperately need each other, they are broken and help heal one another, but when things fall apart, when everything goes wrong, will they still be each others rock or will they go back to their old vices? Time is running short and they need to work together to find some answers before the killer strikes again.
Order of Protection is filled with twists and turns that will keep you intrigued from beginning to end. I’m excited to see where this series continues to grow and for more crossover happiness.
I’ve been anxiously awaiting the release of this first book in the new Courting Justice series! And I was really excited to read an amazing romantic suspense. And for the most part I absolutely loved it.
I really liked both Henry and Win. A lot. A whole lot. Both are battling demons. Both trying to keep straight on the path of recovery. Both are freshly on this path. And it’s a daily, hourly, minute by minute struggle. And the two of them together are quite formidable against these demons. I loved their honesty with each other. That what they did have was quite real even though Henry didn’t quite have the full picture as to who Win really was. And that she didn’t disclose it… but I did greatly enjoy their romance, their sexiness and their love as it developed.
And I did really like how their story unfolded. Ms. Blake really ramped up the suspense. It was a bit of a slow burn, both in the romance department and in the story development. There were many pieces of the puzzle that had to be described and connected. And some serious world building too. But honestly, I was surprised and not surprised by how some of the story was revealed. How the evidence was shared and the real story that came out in the end.
But there were parts that I struggled with. Some of the things related to their recovery. That they were both freshly out of their particular treatments, but that it seemed they had limited to no contact with their doctors or therapists. And, honestly, how did Henry miss who Win really was? She’s been in the public eye since she was an infant, and HE was part of that world while married. And the truth reveal was a bit far-fetched too . . .
All in all, Order of Protection was a nice start to this new series, and I do look forward to more! 3.5 stars
5 Star Review of Order Of Protection (Courting Justice #1) by Lexi Blake
When I heard that there was a new Lexi Blake series, I jumped at the chance to dive in. Having read many of her previous books, I was excited to see what she had in store for us in Order Of Protection.
In my humble opinion nobody does sexy suspense books like Lexi Blake. If you like sexy alpha males, some really hot scenes and characters that will melt your heart, then look no further.
One of the things that I love about Lexi Blake is that her characters are never one dimensional, there are always so many layers and Henry and Win were no exception.
Henry Garrison is a lawyer trying to get his life back under control, a recovering alcoholic, whose divorce left his life and career in tatters. Win Hughes is the mysterious woman he meets while packing up his family home. They connected for a time, then like ships in the night they parted ways. However fate has more in store for Henry and WIn than either of them could expect.
Life has not been kind to Win, however she has gotten back on track and is determined to make the most out of life.
When Win is charged with the murder of her best friend, she has no hesitation in seeking out Henry to represent her. However this Henry is not the friendly man she hooked up with on the island, he is furious that she “lied” by omission and did not tell him who she really is. To be honest when they meet again Henry acted like a jerk, in fact I wanted to smack him across the head and tell him to grow up.
It was good to see some familiar faces make an appearance and the suspense and twists and turns had me continuously guessing
Will Henry and Win be able to find out who the killer is and thereby prove Win’s innocence or will the killer strike again?.
3.5 stars for – Order of Protection – book one in the Courting Justice series by one of my favorite authors – Lexi Blake. While I freely admit I had some trouble in the beginning trying to get into this one rest assured it did eventually pick up. Then when you add in LB’s signature style of a lot of sexy, some dangerous bad guys, and members of M+M it turns out to be a good start to this brand new series.
Taylor Winston-Hughes better known as Win is a reality tv actress . Having lost her parents in an accident she inherited their corporation and money along with the stresses of losing them so young. Her coping mechanism just so happens to be something that could kill her but she hides her pain as best she can all while trying to maintain the façade people expect.
Henry Garrison is an attorney in Manhattan and is quite literally known as a monster – taking even the most dire of cases knowing his ruthlessness will suffice. Being married to an actress and in the spotlight was something he never minded actually even using those times to bring his law firm more business until it backfired on him spectacularly. While professionally Henry is at the top of his game, personally he was obliterated by his ex-wife in a messy, public divorce. Leaving Henry very bitter of many things and wanting no part of those spotlights again.
Can’t wait to see what kind of trouble the other partners in this law firm are gonna get into next! Who knows maybe Ian can show up and save the day too 🙂
Win is the Billion Dollar baby. Her parents went down on their yacht and she was found floating in a life preserver later. She did a realty show and became anorexic and was put in rehab. Now she’s better, going back to school when she meets Henry. Henry is a criminal defense attorney, a recovering alcoholic, and was married to an actress that put him through the wringer. He doesn’t know who Win is and they spend the next two weeks together. Win is helping host a gala, when her friend is found murdered in her bedroom. Win is arrested and Henry finds out who she really is, he is cold to her but will represent her. She stays with him and they hire some bodyguards to protect her, while they figure out who really killed her friend. Can Henry get his head out of his butt before he loses the best thing to ever happen to him? The story was a little slow at the beginning but it sure kept me on the edge of my seat until the end. Surprises, secrets, and mystery. Sexy but less than some of her other stories. I did love it and can’t wait for the next one.
Lexi Blakes draws you in with the first few sentences of this book. You feel Henry’s despair, angst and loneliness almost immediately. He is in mourning for the man he should have or could have been, instead of the one he became. Enter one Taylor Winston-Hughes, “Win,” stubborn, funny, gorgeous. She makes him feel things he shouldn’t and something he’s never felt before. She also makes him forget about his sordid past. Win confesses all about her life struggles and because of those struggles she, unlike anyone else, gets Henry. When their two week fling is over, Henry walks away. He’s not good enough for her, at least in his estimation. Fate has different plans as Win is thrust back into Henry’s life when she is accused of murdering her best friend. Though livid that Win “lied” to him about her identity, Henry can’t stay away from her. He, along with his partners David and Noah and teams from McKay-Taggart work tirelessly to prove Win”s innocence and find the real killer. Family drama, a best friend’s betrayal and a long held, deeply buried secret come into play. Henry finally puts it all together just in the nick of time. Part of that is realizing how much he loves her and cannot let her go.
Lexi’s writing is so intelligent and creative. She evokes feelings, passions and thoughtful musings with her words. Her characters are intelligent, resilient, provocative and richly layered not to mention utterly likeable. There are a lot of intriguing twists and turns as well as plenty of mystery in this story. It’s fun to have Masters and Mercenaries characters show up again. It doesn’t get much better than this book!
This book was enjoyable!
* Good storyline that progresses nicely
* The characters are well described and has issues and feelings that’s realistic.
* No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings and enough dialogues
* The love scenes was hot, sweet and still tasteful.
* I love how both Wen and Henry was a little broken but they fulfilled each other.
* I loved that Henry turned a little alpha from time to time
Good 4 star read. (
Meet the Monster of Manhattan. Henry is the type of lawyer that is ruthless, cutthroat, and doesn’t really have a conscience where his client’s guilt or innocence is concerned. That ‘no holds bar’ behavior is what has driven Henry to the top of his game. With a very public image and a marriage to an actress, Henry knows a thing or two about living under a spotlight. After a widely publicized divorce, Henry wants nothing more than to shrink from the scrutiny of the public eye. Then Win stumbles into his life….
As a reality star and ‘Billion Dollar Baby’, Win is no stranger to life in the public eye. Born to a wealthy family, Win was the only survivor of an accident that claimed the life of her family. Win found herself instantly attracted to Henry. Both battling demons….Win fought anorexia and Henry was once an alcoholic…the two found a connection that clearly kept those demons at bay. What was supposed to be a brief affair due to their individual ambitions and commitments, Henry and Win parted ways believing that was the end of their time together.
Tragedy brought these two tattered souls together again. Henry finally learned Win’s true identity and cannot fight the feelings of betrayal and anger. Now Win’s fate lies in the hands of the man who is now angered by her very being. A far cry from the person that spent a couple of weeks in bliss with Win not so very long ago.
Who is ready for a new series by author Lexi Blake??? Does it help to know one of my favorite Lawless characters has a part in this book? Win is framed for a murder she didn’t commit. Henry is jaded from the past, and learns that the woman he spent a couple of weeks enjoying on the island is not who he thought she was. Creating an enticing romance that is anything BUT predictable.
Secrets fuel this suspenseful read in a world that only Lexi Blake could create. A fantastic beginning to a series that can only tempt you with each passing page. Trust me when I say….Lexi has created yet another unforgettable novel that you definitely need to add to your collection today.
4.5 Stars
I am not sure what I was expecting from this title, but this wasn’t it.
In the best possible way.
Win and Harry were a little more broken and damaged than I was expecting. A little more fragile, a little more drawn to one another because they each knew where the other was coming from, how the broken pieces could fit together as a while, but stay a little broken…and they saw this in each other.
I loved how resistant Henry was to being with her, while being so drawn to her that he keeps accidentally letting Win into his life, even when he thinks he doesn’t want to.
Lexi Blake always packs a punch, she always tells an interesting story, and this one tells a different yet interesting story. I am not sure why this felt so different, honestly…it had suspense, a mystery, secrets, danger and a character from a previous title (Hello, there…it was nice to see you although I am not telling anyone who you are) and so much of Lexi’s normal stuff that I really am not sure why it felt so different.
But, I loved it all the more for this reason.
I recommend this title.
I’m a huge fan of Lexi Blake’s romantic suspense stories/series, so the fact that she just released book one in a new series has me all kinds of excited. In Order of Protection, Blake introduces readers to a world ‘where love and law’ not only coexist but also direct characters’ words and deeds, in both positive and negative ways.
Henry Garrison and Win Hughes shared a brief fling at a time where they both desperately needed to connect with someone, and for two blissful weeks, they gave into their desires and then went their separate ways, never considering the fact that they would reconnect in an unwanted but necessary way due to Win’s arrest for murder. But things become even more complicated when Henry learns the truth of who Win is, which not only makes him not want to take her on as a client, but it also brings out his ‘Monster of Manhattan’ persona, which is not something Win ever wanted to see.
Henry’s ‘Jekyll and Hyde’ behavior didn’t sit too well with me; I struggled with understanding why he became a grade A asshole once he found out who Win really was. Don’t get me wrong, I get that she withheld important information, especially given his history with being in the public eye, but to turn from the charming and sexy man who spent two blissful weeks with Win to the cold and detached lawyer who refuses to understand why she just wanted to be with him as herself not as Taylor Winston-Hughes and all that comes with that moniker just didn’t sit well with me, and I’m glad that Win didn’t put up with his jerkish behavior because I wanted to slap him in the face more than once. Henry does wise up, even if it takes him a bit to get there, which is why I didn’t completely write him off, but I did find it incredibly difficult to mesh his two personalities together and give him a pass for his nasty words and actions towards Win.
Win has been through hell and then some, but through it all, she has demonstrated true strength and courage. She’s an incredibly smart woman who won’t allow anyone to walk all over her and that includes the man who made her body hum but now only makes her head and heart hurt. The circumstances that Win finds herself in are high stakes, so she needs someone to represent her whose used to winning against all odds, and Henry is that attorney, but Win will have to endure his wrath and his hot and cold demeanor if she wants to prove her innocence, which she does, but not without proving to him exactly the woman she is and how lucky he would be to have her on his side in life and in love.
I definitely enjoyed Henry and Win’s story, and although I couldn’t decide if I wanted to hit or hug Henry throughout the entire story, he does redeem himself…it just took me a bit to get over his previous behavior and feel like he had Win’s back with everything that she faces in the book.
4 Poison Apples
3.75 stars–ORDER OF PROTECTION is the first installment in Lexi Blake’s contemporary, adult COURTING JUSTICE romantic, suspense series, a spin-off from the author’s LAWLESS series. This is thirty-seven year old, high-powered, defense attorney aka The Monster of Manhattan, Henry Garrison, and twenty-nine year old, former reality TV star/heiress Taylor Winston-Hughes aka Win Hughes’ story line. There is a slight cross-over with the author’s Masters and Mercenaries series with the inclusion of several security experts from McKay-Taggart.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Win and Henry) ORDER OF PROTECTION follows the acrimonious relationship between thirty-seven year old, high-powered, defense attorney Henry Garrison, and twenty-nine year old, former reality TV star/heiress Win Hughes, and the search for the truth. A month earlier, hiding from scandals that had become their lives, Henry Garrison and Win Hughes would spend several glorious weeks together on Chappaquiddick with the knowledge that their relationship was only temporary, and no-strings attached. Never having revealed to Henry the true identity about her past and reality TV, Win would return to civilization, only to be charged with the murder of her co-star Brie while attending a fund-raiser set up by her Uncle Bel. Enter Henry Garrison, who has been hired to defend our story –line heroine. What ensues is the caustic relationship between our leading couple as everyone struggles to uncover the truth.
Approximately twenty-seven years earlier, an infant Taylor Winston-Hughes was the lone survivor of an explosion at sea wherein her billionaire parents were killed leaving their only child the heir to a fortune but her personal life would become fodder for the news media naming her the Billion-Dollar Baby, that followed her the rest of her life. Quiet, shy, determined and beautiful Win is a recovering anorexic whose time spent on the gossip beleaguered, reality television show brought with it the demands of perfection and more. Working with Henry to solve the murder meant working with a spiteful, angry, and demeaning man whose inability to forgive and forget found our heroine on the receiving end of acidic barbs and accusations of murder from the man hired to work on her defense.
From the outset, recovering alcoholic and scandal plagued Henry Garrison finds himself attracted to his temporary neighbour, and his relationship and sexual attraction is palpable and sweet, but murder charges against, and the revelation of our heroine’s true identity turn Henry into a caustic, monster of epic proportions. Cynical and untrusting Henry is unable to move beyond the scandal that plagued his marriage to actress Alicia Kingman, a disastrous and fraudulent marriage that has blinded our hero to love and a happily ever after. For all intents and purposes Henry became the nightmare our heroine was trying to avoid.
The relationship between Henry and Win is plagued by Henry’s intolerance of the lies of omission, and secrets about our heroine’s past. Henry’s bitter comments and scathing treatment of Win Hughes borders on mental and emotional abuse for a woman already haunted by the events of the past. Win is a sweet, sassy and intelligent heroine whose reactions to our hero’s abusive treatment are rather calm and emotionless under the circumstances. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and impassioned.
There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and dynamic secondary and supporting characters including several cast members of the reality TV show Kendalmire’s Way-Brie Westerhaven, Hoover Kendalmire, and Kipton Keever; Win’s uncle Bellamy Hughes, her cousin Trevor, and nanny Mary Hannigan; an assortment of security and investigation specialists from McKay-Taggart; attorney Margarita Reyes, and Henry’s legal partners David Cormack, and Noah Lawless of Garrison, Cormack and Lawless.
ORDER OF PROTECTION is a detailed and complex story line with a couple of twists revealed at the very end. The premise is engaging, entertaining and edgy; the romance is dramatic and provocative; the characters are spirited, startling and animated but saying that Henry’s abrasive, antagonizing and ill-tempered treatment of our story line heroine is offensive until the very end; the character portrayal of Henry is questionable-he is not a likeable hero but more of an anti-hero; redemption is difficult. ORDER OF PROTECTION is a well written, thought-out story of suspense with an energetic cast of characters.
I love Lexi Blake and I am super excited for this new series!! Henry and Win are both really likable characters and the story is very well written. LOVED!!!
They both needed
“A distraction and some kindness”
What was meant to be a brief encounter to give them some time to breathe, to quench a thirst they were both desperate for …became so much more.
“Stay with me. That was what he was saying. It was more intimate than sex. It was comfort he was asking for, and the sweetness of it pierced through her.”
This book has everything! Dirty talking older man struggling to rebuild his life. An intelligent strong-willed young woman determined to reclaim her life and give it meaning. Add in Murder, betrail and you’ve got your next read!
Henry Garrison (the Monster of Manhattan) and Tylor Winston Hughes (“Win” Heir to the Billion dollar Hugh corporation) are enamored with each other the second they meet. As the story begins we’re introduced to Henry Garrison suffering the aftermath of a horrible breakup that has left him questioning his life and what kind of man he’s become. Saying goodbye to the only place that represented home and the only stability he’s ever known. Heartbroken and lost Henry just needs something or someone to believe in again.
Enter Win Hughes, in a less than graceful manner I might add. But a cute encounter has them not only hunkering down for the night for safety but for the companionship, they are both desperate for. Win isn’t the innocent wallflower she appears to be. She’s fighting her own battles past and present and while she’s young. She’s confident and fierce in her own way.
This being the first Lexi Blake novel I’ve ever read I have to say I was enchanted by these characters and absolutely captivated by this story. There’s a huge age gap between the H/h and while they were very different and so perfectly flawed. The character dynamics were so well written I was instantly in love with them.
Murder, the secrets, and the betrayal will all have you on edge wondering WHO DID IT!! I know I did! Usually, it’s pretty obvious in a romaic suspense because the author tends to make the romance the focal point. Not in the case of Order of Protection This well-rounded novel gives you the perfect amount of romance and the perfect amount of suspense! I dare you…That’s right!! I dare you to figure it out before the end! I really could not put this book down! It makes me crave all of Lexi Blake’s previous and future novels. You guys just have to read it!
The author has built a firm foundation for the Courting Justice series. Solid characters with their faults and attributes that make this reader believe this series will be one everyone will be chomping at the bit to get at. Since this is my first novel by this author. I would love to hear from you guys. What was your first Lexi Blake novel and do you recommend a particular series?
P.S If you’re in the mood a hot dirty talking silver fox. Look no further. Henry has arrived to make your panties wet and he won’t be done with you till you scream his name … twice
Thanks to Berkley Romance for a paperback ARC copy and Helen Hoang for the opportunity to review.

Order of Protection opens on the beach and as we meet our main characters, we also get a bit of backstory for each. Henry and Win are both fresh out of rehab – him for alcohol and her for anorexia, and they’re both trying to get on with their lives. The scene of their first meeting is witty and fun and there seems to be some chemistry between this sexy older man and the attractive young woman he brings in out of the rain (literally).
From what I read in the opening chapter, I expected a reasonably paced story. Instead, it slows down and a lot of the next several chapters are well, kind of boring, which led me to set this one aside several times. The book does pick up again at about the halfway mark and we begin to get some real suspense going on.
The suspense side of the story was interesting and did keep me guessing, but by that time, I was disconnecting from the romance. Henry’s reaction to Win’s secret was way over the top, especially considering his past. If anyone should understand the need for anonymity, it should be Henry. Instead, his complaints become tedious. I did like Win’s wit and attitude, but when Henry starts acting like a child, I didn’t much care if this pair made it work or not. Plus we have the fact that neither of these people, fresh out of recovery, ever feel the need to get help when stress gets high. Even early in the book when Henry wants a drink, he runs instead of contacting a sponsor, friend, therapist, etc.
To sum it up, this first Courting Justice novel left me straddling the fence. There were things I liked and things I didn’t, and whether or not I’ll continue on with the series remains to be seen.
Order of Protection is the first installment of the new Courting Justice series by Lexi Blake. This series ties into Lexi’s other series involving the Lawless family and the McKay-Taggert guys. It seems that this series will follow some of the attorneys that we met in the Lawless series, and heavily features Noah Lawless, who has joined the firm. I am interested to see how these stories play out and entwines with the other two series.
Our heroine in this story is Taylor Winston (“Winnie”) Hughes, known as the Million Dollar Baby after her miraculous survival when the rest of her family was lost in a yachting accident. We meet Taylor after she has left a reality television show and been released from treatment for a severe eating disorder. I’m not usually a fan of Hollywood-type heroines, but I liked Winnie. I felt like she was down-to-earth for how insanely wealthy she was, and she was philanthropic and hard-working.
Our hero is Henry Garrison, a high-powered criminal attorney known as the Monster of Manhattan. After being put through the ringer by his famous ex-wife, he wants nothing to do with Hollywood types. Henry is also a recovering alcoholic, who is still struggling mightily with his addiction. I’m not big on this character flaw in my heroes, and this was my second in the the last week, so I was not excited. To top it off, Henry was an asshole. I hated him more than I liked him. The way he treated Winnie was way over the top and out of line. It’s odd that I hate a hero and like the heroine, but that is what happened here.
The relationship between these two was hot and cold, mainly due to Henry being a douche canoe. Because of his behavior, I had a hard time getting behind the relationship. However, when he got over himself, Henry and Win were good together – very good. They had chemistry and they brought out the best in one another. They were supportive of the other’s issues. But Henry was just too judgy, reluctant and downright mean at times.
The suspense plot was great. I loved how it was laid out. Someone was out to get Winnie Hughes, and there were plenty of candidates in her life. While it wasn’t completely unpredictable, I loved the suspense and trickling of details as the story progressed. I enjoyed the secondary characters, particularly Henry’s law partners. I am definitely interested in their books going forward.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from the publisher, Berkley.
I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review. This is the first book in a new series. This is the story of Win and Henry. They meet while she is running on the beach near his home. They agree to spend two weeks together, and then they go their separate ways. Then, Win ends up needing a lawyer and Henry comes to her rescue. She ends up moving into his apartment for her safety. There are a lot of twists and turns. There is a LOT of heat! If you like heat in your romance, a bit of intrigue, and great characters, then this book is for you!
Order of Protection is the first book in author Lexi Blake’s new Courting Justice series. This story begins with high-end defense attornry Henry Garrison at his childhood home in Chappaquiddick packing up personal possessions so the house can be sold. His life is a mess, financially and personally, after a very messy divorce from his Hollywood star wife. His drinking hasn’t helped any. Rehab over Henry needs to get his life back together. He meets a beautiful lady who is jogging on the beach past his house. Win Hughes trips, falls and looks up to see her rescuer, Henry. So Boy meets Girl. Boy and Girl are very attracted to each other and begin a two week fling. Girl recognizes Boy but Boy doesn’t recognize Billion Dollar Baby, reality TV star Taylor Winston-Hughes. Boy has sworn off interacting with any more Hollywood types. The revelation of the truth doesn’t go over well in spite of their feelings for each other during their two week fling. Things get even more complicated when Win is accused of murder and asks Henry to defend her.
Lexi Blake has a most devious mind. The plot twists in this story kept me turning the pages well past my bedtime. To add to the enjoyment of the story we get to read about some of our favotite characters from Lexi’s other series. In my eyes that is a super bonus. It looks like another winning series for this author!
After a devastating divorce and his ex-wife launching a public smear campaign, Henry Garrison’s reputation in Los Angeles was left severely damaged, to the point that he can hardly land a single client. Between the divorce, losing his business, and just about everything he owns, he turns to alcohol to numb the pain, but all that managed to do is get him in more trouble. So after a stint in rehab, he decides it’s time to return to what he knows, which means returning to New York again, where he will partner with some friends to open a law office and hopefully rebuild his reputation in his field. While preparing his grandfathers home to be sold, he spies a beautiful girl face planting on the beach, so he rushes to rescue her and winds up meeting the most interesting person to come into his life in a long while. The chemistry between them is immediate, and it spawns a little vacation love affair, that he knows it won’t lead anywhere special since they have different plans for their lives, so he decides just to enjoy it while it lasts. But once he arrives back at the law office he gets the surprise of a lifetime, when his beautiful woman crashes into his world once again, and brings along some secrets and a job offer that he can’t refuse!
Order of Protection is a scintillating tale that is sure to pull readers in from the very first page and keep them completely enthralled until the last. With it’s suspenseful and steamy story line it’s a can’t miss read, and I have to say it was one of the most impressive first reads that I have experienced in a long while! These wonderful characters’ story packed a powerful punch, both damaged from their pasts, both struggling to keep their demons at bay, and both fighting like hell to come out on the winning side of things… you couldn’t help but root for them. This was quite the literary journey for me, the suspenseful side kept me on my toes, the steamy side had me swooning throughout, and the emotional side put a squeeze on my heart! Highly recommend!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from NetGalley and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.
