This story was so much fun. Ophelia deserved so much better than she got from her husband and now it is time for him to get his comeuppance. I love how that happens and can just imagine Mortimer’s shock. Thank you, Charlene Raddon, for this story, a very good addition to the Widows of Willow Ridge series.
Once more we visit The Widows of Wildcat Ridge and now have Book 16. This has been a fun series and I’ve loved it. Each book is a bit different, a little more dramatic or gripping in the drama, and, to me, more meaningful. Ophelia had led a harsh life, suffered the loss of her true love, married a man she thought would care for her and then learned he was not only unfaithful, he had started a life that didn’t include her. Learning that she literally “owned” a town because her mean-spirited husband had signed it over to her long ago and then forgotten, she began the resurgence of Wildcat Ridge. There is a lot of story-line that has heartfelt meaning and I loved it. I especially loved Marzda. Thanks for a great read.
Ophelia is a fast moving story with several unexpected twists. She is a bigger than life character who is not afraid to make changes in sleepy Wildcat Ridge. She is compassionate with a free spirit. She is the one person strong enough to take on her husband, Mortimer Crane. There is a dichotomy between these two vital characters that creates tension throughout the novel. It is delightful to see other characters from previous stories in this finale of the Widows of Wildcat Ridge. A mystery is created around the character of Brody Duvall that is made just for Ophelia to solve. She is a woman that the townspeople are all set to hate, but find themselves loving after they meet her. A great culmination story, Ophelia gives the prodigious ending that everyone has been waiting for. A masterfully written novel of sublime characters, Ms. Raddon weaves a tale worthy of being a classic!
This is a great book, written in the same exciting way as all of Charlene Raddon’s stories. I really enjoyed finding out what happened to the dastardly Mortimer, and that Ophelia could find true happiness with another more worthy man.
OMG, I loved Ophelia (even though she was Mortimer Crane’s wife, but you find out why) and Brody’s story. This is really Ophelia’s story.
Ophelia has never been to Wildcat Ridge, but she comes to divorce Mortimer Crane and claim her newly discovered property. What she finds there will change her life forever. Everything comes together. You will love this story. This is a great ending to a great series by many wonderful authors.
This is the final book in this series and is a fitting ending. You will laugh, you will cheer and you will love the characters as Mortimer Crane’s wife comes to town to claim what is rightfully hers and to make amends for all of the deception, lies, heartache and meanness that he has inflicted on the widows (as well as others) through the years. Lies, deception, meanness, romance and a HEA are all a part of the story. I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it.
Memories of the past bring Brody Duvall to Wildcat Ridge. He is hired as manager of Mortimer Crane’s Hotel.
Mortimer’s wife Ophelia arrives on the train from Salt Lake City to claim her rights to the town, unbeknownst to Mortimer and also to Brody.
Brody recognizes her immediately, but quickly realizes she has no idea who he is. For now their past will remain asecret. Will they regain what they once had?
With a young matchmaker Marzda on the scene, sparks are sure to fly.
Mortimer has a few ideas of his own once he hears Ophelia has taken over his town! He will make her pay, along with the nemesis that is Brody (Duece) Duvall.
Charlene Raddon brings characters to life with emotion, intrigue and mystery. The key ingredient in her storiesis love.
I received an ARC of this book and am choosing to leave an honest review.
I finished this book in one sitting. Loved the characters. You get a great ending to a wonderful series of books. I look for the next series set in Wildcat Ridge. Fell in love with Ophelia & Brody, I think you will too. It also answers the remaining questions about Mortimer Crane.
