What a delightful holiday read. A quick tale that is filled with Christmas hope and magic, finding hope and making it happen. Felix and Jules are sweet together and I enjoyed their love story. Helped keep me in my holly jolly mood with it’s funny moments and sweet elf love.
I received an advanced reader’s copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review and recommendation.
A punishment turns into an unexpected gift when Jules is sent to Snow Hope Island for shenanigans that went too far. Finding his boss, Felix intriguing is one thing, but when that turns into attraction and then a crush, Jules isn’t sure what to do with himself. Both men find something surprising as well as a way to save all the toys that seem to come to their island to languish unloved. With the focus on the toys and Jules finally finding his purpose, with the relationship becoming secondary you’d think the story would fall flat. Well, it didn’t! It was sweet with a really wonderful way of conveying both the spirit of Christmas as well as acceptance and love. Though the relationship conflict was predictable, it was settled with maturity and very little fanfare. More sweet than steamy, this was a very cute story that hit all the light and lovely notes of a good Christmas love story.
This was a sweet story set in the North Pole. I imagined the island of lost toys from Rudolph and this book just went a little further. It was sweet to imagine all the abandoned toys getting a rescue. Jules and Felix were a sweet couple and their romance was sweet, sexy and adorable. I enjoyed this book and recommend it.
This book was amazing. I always love reading Sarah Hadley Brook’s books, but this one tops them all. Right from the start, I was drawn into the story, and I couldn’t put it down. Immediately I saw that this was not your average Christmas story. It was whimsical and funny, and I couldn’t help grinning, and all through the book, I had a big smile on my face. It is a delightful story with all the feel-good vibes and deeper messages that belong in a Christmas story.
The main characters are Jules and Felix, who are just too cute for words. I loved them. Jules has been banned by Santa to Snow Hope Island because of one transgression too many. What could have been a horrible punishment turns out to be the best time of his life. He finds himself, his purpose in life, and best of all, his man. Felix runs Snow Hope Island with their warehouses full of toys. Toys have to be perfect to be given to children. At least that’s Santa’s opinion. But what is imperfect? With a little bit of imagination and a lot of TLC, every toy can be perfect for a child. The fun part is that all who work on Snow Island are sorry for the toys, not the children. It’s their mission in life to give the toys a loving home.
At first, Felix is a bit grumpy, but he soon falls for Jules’s charms. They are so sweet together and make a wonderful team. Their enthusiasm persuades the other Islanders to put extra effort into making it a special Christmas this year. Even the big guy, who is not the jolly old Santa as we often see him, agrees with their plans in the end. There is a bit of drama, but it’s kept to a minimum and adds just that extra bite to a sweet story.
