LAKE STARLIGHT BUZZ WHEELPRESS RELEASE: Rumor around town is a certain matriarch of the Bailey family is having a BIG BIRTHDAY! It’s even spurred a few of the Bailey kids to return home to celebrate with their beloved great-grandmother, Dori. In fact, now that there are twenty-six Bailey great-grandchildren the event is going to be overflowing with laughter and love. Also… I heard that Piper … Piper & Rayne have been speaking to some of the kids (i.e. Calista, Maverick, Easton, Brinley and Palmer) and so we’re getting some special POV’s. I can’t wait to report my findings the day after the party!

4 stars!
Even though this is the official end of one of my favourite series ever, the Bailey family will remain in my heart forever. Operation Bailey Birthday is a sweet and humorous read that with leave you with all the heartwarming feels. They are back for Grandma Dori’s 90th birthday and the family is getting ready to throw the party of a lifetime! I loved the unique style this was written. Each chapter was told in the point of view of a Bailey great grandchild and offered up all the same love, humor and affection we have come to love from the Baileys. This novella may be short and sweet but it is a must read and is the perfect cherry on top to end it all off. G’ma D may be 90 but she sure hasn’t slowed down one bit and is up to her same old tricks. I am looking forward to ‘meeting’ the Greene family next and hopefully we get to catch up with Baileys in their books to come.
*ARC received in exchange of an honest review.
Oh how I am going to miss the Bailey clan!! I fell in love with them during the first book and I have read every book in the series. I am sad that there will be no more Baileys (maybe not), but I am excited about the way the series ended.
I really enjoyed the way the author’s approached this book. I feel like with them including the whole family and giving it different perspectives really gave it a special touch. I truly loved the last chapter and I had to read it twice while having happy tears in my eyes.
Can not wait for the next series and get lost in the new clan!!
Absolutely perfect!
This! This is exactly the reason why I love this series so much. We have grown with family and this little addition was absolutely perfect. I love that the authors gave us the great grandkids POV. That made this jewel that much more special. Grandma Dori is the root of this family and I adore that we get to celebrate her. Wonderful!

This was the perfect story to close out this series. It had romance and love, young and old. It had so much humor and laughter. There were also some sad and potentially problematic moments.
It had all the characters I’ve fallen in love with throughout this series.
And it gave us an amazing look into the future of the Bailey family.
I was most grateful and excited to see that Grandma Dori hadn’t changed a bit. She was still running things from the background and sometimes right in front of everyone. She still had her best friend Ethel by her side and barely seemed to have slowed down at all.
While I’m sad that this series has come to an end, I’m excited for what’s to come. Piper Rayne had impressed me from the very beginning with their stories. They’re one of the few authors I can say I’ve read every book. And their catalog has gotten pretty extensive. But I am certain what’s to come will be fun, romantic, and just like this series, not to be missed.
I’ve been looking forward to this book. It met and blew my expectations. I couldn’t have asked for a better sound off for the Baileys. I was glad we didn’t have to say goodbye quite yet. I so loved all the points of view we got through out this book. I honestly just felt so giddy reading this. It also had me reminiscing about the Baileys and revisiting their love stories. Getting to see the Baileys living their HEAs just warmed my heart. The over all feelings I had while reading this was happiness and Joy. I even teared up a few times. I’m so sad to see this series end, but glad it might not be a complete goodbye. If you read this series and a huge fan like me you do not want to miss out on reading this. A true fan of the series is going to fall in love with series all over again with this novella. It’s a must read!!!
“ – , ’ . ’ ’ .”
Let’s talk about “Operation Bailey Birthday by Piper Rayne”.
Welcome to the party of the year! Everyone from Lake Starlight are in attendance of (Great)Grandma Dori’s 90 years old birthday party!! “Wife to Philip, Mother to one, Grandma to nine, Grandma-in law to nine, Great-grandma to twenty-six.”, she is the person I want to be when I grow old!
Each chapter is told by the POV of the eldest kid of the nine Bailey’s siblings, we also have some surprise appearances, but it’s the last (at least for now) book from this amazing series. It’s a bittersweet one, I laugh, cheer and cried! We’ve got to see what was going on with each of our favorite 9 couples, that I was so invested with.
Everyone were planing Grandma Dori’s surprise party, but who was making the shots was the birthday lady herself, she was confidently not-planning her birthday, which caused some hilarious scenes and even more emotional ones.
I’m honestly not ready for this series to end, it feels like there’s a hole in the world, but I’m also excited for the Greene series, it will be amazing!!! Seriously after reading this novella I can see SO many potentials for a Bailey’s series follow up, at least 9, since the stories are already there with every chapter, but the correct number would be 26 stories! Let’s start praying, people!
Operation Bailey Birthday by Piper Rayne is EVERYTHING you want, expect, desire, and need from a story that follows this hilarious, delightful family!
As always, I was utterly charmed by the news and antics from Lake Starlight! I adore the Bailey family and loved the insights and great humor and most importantly love that flowed freely from the pages of this novella.
We get to visit with numerous great-grandchildren, get to see the Bailey family at all levels, and honestly, I just fell in love with them all over again!
If you’re looking for a sweet and charming read full of nostalgia, look no further than Operation Bailey Birthday! I guarantee it’ll make you smile!
P. S. I cannot wait to get my hands on my first Greene family story!
This is such an emotional book! Grandma Dori’s birthday told by her great grand kids is a root to read (as all Bailey’s books) and it is great to read their version on how their lifes has become over the years.
How their parents lifes had turned out and how they are living the teen and young lifes. In particular, Calista, who is now a young adult, has the most promising story to be told in the future.
Grandma Dori is always a joy to read and she is really a great character.
This novella is so lovely, sentimental and wonderful.
I loved it!
Cherry on top of one of my favorite series of all time!
I anxiously awaited this bonus novella while at the same time, never wanted it to come. Saying goodbye is so hard. I have fallen completely in love with this family and their town of Lake Starlight. While it made me so sad to finish this novella, I am also so happy because it concluded in the perfect way.
Grandma Dori, is without a doubt an amazing matriarch of this family and has helped everyone find their happily ever afters. I loved getting to see a jump in the timeline to catch up with everyone. I also really enjoyed getting a glimpse of the Greene Family! I’m so excited for a new family series by this author duo!
Grateful to have received a complimentary ARC copy to honestly review.
WOW, WOW, WOW! What an amazing tribute to an AMAZING series. I know I’m not alone in loving the Baileys and I know that I’m not the only one that’s sad to see the “end” of them. I know Piper & Rayne have indicated that they will still pop up but I literally feel like this is a family member and I’m sad that we won’t have more and more books coming of the gang BUT this book definitely gave all the feels.
I laughed, I cried, I was just HAPPY with this wonderful book. What a great idea to give us the perspective of the Bailey siblings from their kids. Literally it was just the best. I loved Grandma Dori and all of her usual antics and seeing them all come together for her birthday was the best.
I can’t wait for the new series and books with The Greenes. If the sneak peek we got in this book was any indicator of one of the couples, I know they will be amazing as well.
5 She Has Them All Wrapped Around Her Finger Stars!!!
This is a bit of a bittersweet review as Operation Bailey Birthday is the last book in this amazing series that has brought me so much joy. I’ve laughed, cried and swooned through all the books and with this last book we’ve moved ahead several years as The Bailey’s prepare to celebrate Grandma Dori’s 90th birthday!
I don’t want to give away too much because her grandchildren and great-grandchildren are a total trip in this book. They’ve all come together to plan this extravaganza for G’ma D’s birthday, but they’re not really the ones in control. And if you’ve read any of the books you know exactly what’s going on behind the scenes.
This is a family that has seen their share of heartache and tragedy, but they’ve counter-balanced that with finding the loves of their lives and raising families of their own. I adore seeing all the great-grandchildren and what and who they’ve become over the years.
And just because we may be leaving Lake Starlight, I have it on good authority that The Greene Family that’s coming next year will be just as fun as The Bailey’s because, hello…. Dori’s BFF Ethel is the matriarch of that family and well…. She and Dori will be in cahoots once again!!
4.5 stars
You would’ve thought by now I’d be bored with the Bailey family (so many previous books!) but nope, I’m nowhere near done when it comes to the Baileys. It’s Dori’s birthday and she’s still at her meddling best. I love this woman, out of all the Baileys she is without a doubt my absolute favourite character. She’s always amusing and although she may be getting older, she’s still as much fun as ever. This is a must read for any Bailey family fan and if you haven’t read this series yet, go! Go grab alllll the books and fall in love with one of the best fictional families I’ve read.
Grandma Dori’s turning 90 and she’s not so subtly planning her surprise party. We get chapters from most of her grand and great-grandchildren, giving us some laughs, a little bit of sadness, and a happy ever after for the Bailey family. I’ve loved this series and can’t think of a better send off for this large, loving family as they celebrate the birthday of their matriarch. A glimpse of Dori’s best friend’s family series is given, and it makes me happy to think of a new series and a connection to the Baileys for more stories to come.
A surprise 90th birthday party and the entire Bailey family is what makes this novella simply adorable! I loved seeing the entire gang together again and getting that loving feeling from the Bailey family. I’m sad to see their story end but what a journey it has been!
My heart was so happy to go back to Alaska and get caught up on the Bailey Family happenings. This story has multiple POV’s that updates and teases as you journey through its telling. OMG SO FREAKING GOOD. I would be amiss if I didn’t mention Grandma Dori is leading all the shenanigans in her own unique and hilarious way. Loved every minute of this book. All I have left to say… BRING THE GREENES especially if the next generation Baileys’ are included. Wink. I am just guessing.
Happy Reading Everyone! XOXO
The Baileys has become one of my absolute favorite series, and while I’m so sad for it to end Piper Rayne has done it in the absolute perfect way.
These novellas have been such a treat for Bailey fans, and this one is the best gift I could have asked for. This novella is everything I could have asked for, and my only critique is it’s too short. But I could probably read a million books on this family and not get sick of them, so that’s just me!
I loved getting a peek at my favorite family in the future, and getting some amazing surprises along the way. Grandma Dori is the star as usual, and this time she was really able to shine – and in the most amazing way! This was such a fun book, and I hope everyone loves it just as much as I did!
Even though I am really sad to say goodbye to the Baileys, Piper and Rayne created the absolute best ending. Everyone was present and accounted for in true Bailey fashion. There was so much love and even more laughs! Every point of view was perfect, and they saved the best for last! Until we meet again Baileys!!
Operation Bailey Birthday by Piper Rayne is a heartwarming and fun story centered around Grandma Dori’s 90th birthday celebration. I love her zest for life and how she brings humor wherever she goes. This story was the perfect way to end the Bailey series which I love so much. It was great to catch a glimpse of the Bailey couples in the future as well as getting their children’s POV in this book and the interaction between the next generation of Baileys.
Let the “Surprise” Party Begin! It’s Grandma Dori’s 90th birthday and we are celebrating in style so grab a blanket a cup of coco (spiked of course) and sit back and enjoy because this is one book you don’t want to miss!
I have truly loved every book in this series and I am so sad that this is the end of the Baileys but I know we will see them pop up from time to time in the The Greene Family Series which is G’ma Dori’s best friend Ethyl’s family and I cannot wait to see what Piper and Rayne have in store for them.
I would not recommend reading this book as a standalone as it’s meant to wrap up the series and give us closure if you will and possibly some insight on what is yet to come for some of the Bailey’s. If you haven’t started the series yet I highly suggest you do, this series has something for everyone in it and I think you’ll be happy you did.
Happy Reading!!!
This book….it’s the one where your heart is all warm and squishy at the same time tears are in your eyes.
This novella is the official official close of the Baileys. Yes, Jamie and Sedona’s story was the final Bailey wedding, but this novella is the very best of goodbyes.
Given the number of Baileys (and assorted offspring) I’m happy to see Piper Rayne were able to give them a proper Bailey finish.
The birthday in question is Grandma Dori’s. The meddling matriarch is pretending to let her grandkids “plan” a party for her all while actually planning it herself. Per usual, the grandkids roll with this and just do the manual labor.
I’ve adored Grandma Dori through all of the Bailey books. She’s been there with meddling, lecturing, and love. Ethel is, as needed, along for the ride this time as well. It’s just not Dori without Ethel. Or Earl. Oh! Narcolepsy Earl is back….as Dori’s driver. seriously good laughs!!!
The best thing (in my opinion) in this book is that each chapter is told from a great grandkid’s perspective. Not only are we allowed glimpses into growing up Bailey in Lake Starlight, but we are also gifted with insight to the Bailey kids as parents.
Some of the kids have been introduced in their own stories, like Maverick and Palmer. Both of these chapters gives us a look into how they are handling their parents’ back stories.
Others are just plain, straight up fun, like Denver’s twins Rohan and Ryder. You see how each kid pushes the Bailey buttons or has the Bailey personality down to a T.
The closeness in the unofficial Bailey triplets is heart warming to watch from Easton being parented by Austin and avoiding the interest of his cousin’s best friend so he doesn’t hurt his other cousin, to Brinley trying to keep the peace between her two cousins and her best friend, to Lance trying to come to terms with being lower on the social hierarchy then East.
Reading about big bad adrenaline junkie Kingston being dad to three girls, and realizing that Grandma Dori won’t be there forever. Tears. This big bad Bailey is a huge teddy bear.
This novella allows the Bailey readers to have a goodbye from the heart. Grandma D gets her birthday party – her way. Wait till you get to the Bailey formal wear scene
The heart warming part of saying goodbye to the Baileys is that it isn’t forever. With Dori having her grandkids settled and happy, Ethel finally gets her turn. Ethel has grands to marry off. Piper Rayne tease us with two possible stories within this little novella. One, we’ll see about. The other, the other one I’m hoping is the first book out of Ethel’s family.
We have Denver and Cleo’s oldest, Calista, going head to head with her arch nemesis Rylan Green. At the end of Dori’s party Calista and Rylan are seen being close with one another. Earlier at the party, Calista had dropped a bomb on her Dad. What will happen next between these two competitors and childhood enemies?
Then there is Calista’s cousin Maverick. Phoenix’s step son. He brought home the niece of Phoenix’s sworn enemy. Hopefully we get the rest of how that plays out at some point in the journey.
However, if you are a fan of the Baileys – from having read one, some, or all of their stories – I highly recommend picking up this novella. It is just the perfect end piece.
If you are new to the Baileys and are thinking of picking this story up, you can, but be forewarned there are enough Baileys to populate a town. Keep a notepad and pencil handy so you can draw out the family tree.
Thank you so so much Piper and Rayne!! My heart is so happy with this Bailey goodbye.
Now I’m waiting patiently for the Greenes.
