Nate Pearson is ridiculously handsome and wears the hell out of a suit and tie, but I’ve seen the parade of beautiful women leaving his apartment across the hall – a different one every time – and I want no part of it. When it comes to romance, I’m looking for something real, something that will last: the happily ever after. As a divorce attorney, he loves to tell me there’s no such thing. As a … thing.
As a wedding planner, I choose to disagree.
We disagree on almost everything, in fact. Everything except James Bond. The only time we really get along is when we’re watching 007 flicks together, and I’ll admit – he has rescued me from a disaster or five. So when one of the baton twirlers from his parade leaves a baby girl at his door with a note that says “I’ll come back for her” and he begs me for help, I can’t turn him down.
But it’s a mistake.
Because watching him with his daughter, I start to see another side of Nate, a side that has my breath coming faster, my body craving his, my heart longing for him to change his mind about love and tell me there’s a chance for us.
I don’t want to be just another girl leaving his apartment in the morning.
I want to be the one he asks to stay.

Melanie is one of my very favorite authors and she is an auto-click on release day. I absolutely love her After We Fall Series.
Only You was Nate and Emme’s neighbors to lovers story with a huge twist. It was so great full of romance, banter, humor and can’t forget the drama. There was a twist in the story that brought a beautiful baby girl into the story that just deepened it. Can’t wait for the second book.

Melanie Harlow is always a one-click author for me and Only You is no exception! The story was different than any I have read before. I had all sorts of feels reading this book!
I loved most of the interactions between Nate and Emme! I also wanted to slap Nate silly a few times. Emme was so endearing! The way she centered Nate when he faced one of the biggest life changes a person ever goes through…PARENTHOOD!
Emme was there for Nate every step of the way and helped him figure out how to take care and love his baby girl. This made the pair grow closer together, but as the two grew closer, the more Nate realized he needed to put space between himself and Emme essentially pushing her away. The more time he spent away from Emme, the more he realized he didn’t want to live without her. Question is, what lengths is this anti-marriage man willing to go to in order to win back the woman he can’t seem to live without?
I highly recommend this book!
Audiobook Version: Only You, One and Only Book 1 is a ravishing prose. The synopsis of this novel reeled me in. From the first word till the very end I was vigilantly tuned in. I absolutely fell in love with Nate Pearson as he was sweet and sexy all rolled into one scrumptious package. I so adored Emme and her sweet personality. Supporting character’s were campy & gaiety. The witty banter between Nate & Emme was so hilarious. A writing style that is crisp, innovative, and piquant. A fictitious novel about friendships growing & adjusting to anew routine.
Written & narated in dual pov which is my favourite. Narrator Stephen Dexter did a phenomenal job of showcasing the blistered sentiments of Nate Pearson. I loved listening to Lauren Ezzo’s voice as it was so sweet. These narrators brought this fabulous romance to life. I felt like I was right there with them. Together these two narrators make a striking duet. These narrators were perfect.
One of my absolute favourite new books. A definite relisten as I hated to hear it end. I so would love to listen to the other books in this new exhilarating series.
Perfect friends to lovers story. More like neighbors to lovers story. I enjoyed every moment of it. Emme is a hopeless romantic events planner. Nate is a anti love divorce lawyer. They are totally opposites but share a love for Bond movies. Nate’s world is turned upside down one night. A baby is left on his door step. His baby he didn’t know about. Now his life is going not the direction he had planned. Emme is a good friend and is there to help him. Soon their bond changes from friendship to what could be love. But Nate fights it and Emme starts to think that maybe he is just another heart breaker to add to her list of bad decisions. They both have to decide what they truly want and need in their lives.
I loved loved this story. Especially hearing it as an audio book. I can’t get over how perfect these narrators were. I felt every word they said. I got so lost in this story. This was my first read from this author and I can’t wait to read more of her books. She had a way of reeling me in from the start. The book had it all: friendship, love, humor, heartbreak, frustrating moments, drama and many surprise moments. I highly suggest this book!
Another Incredible read from the amazing Melanie Harlow!! ONLY YOU has an original storyline that keeps you turning the pages. Neighbors & friends that are almost polar opposites. Nate is a gorgeous sexy divorce lawyer who doesn’t believe in Happy Ever Afters and Emme is a Wedding Planner who can never find a decent guy to settle down with. They enjoy watching movies together now and again. Now add a surprise baby to the equation and Nate suddenly realizes just how much he depends on Emme for support and sees her entirely in a different light. I loved their chemistry together, their banter and how real they seemed to me. The steamy scenes when they finally get together are incredibly hot, be prepared!! Toe curling for sure as only Melanie can write!! There are so many great parts through out their love story, I don’t want to spoil it by telling more. Just grab your copy on release day and enjoy!!! I have always loved all of Melanie’s books and ONLY YOU is no exception. I highly recommend it to all who want to read something just little bit different. I absolutely loved it!!
My first book by this author. A laugh out loud to a high powered divorce attorney who finds out the baby at his front door is his. The heroine across the hall comes to his rescue not only to ease his way as a daddy, but to open his heart to love.
Very emotional and steamy.
I am such a huge fan of Melanie Harlow and each time she publishes a book I love her more and more. And once again she delivered and wrote another amazing book. Only You is a light hearted, friends to lovers rom com and swoon worthy book that everyone needs in their life. It’s a breath of fresh air that had me in romance heaven. Nate is awkward as a single dad, he’s hysterical and so sweet with his baby which made my ovaries explode!!! He’s also very charming, debonair and romantic. Emme reminds me of a Disney princess as she is a true romantic who’s in search of her happily ever after and Prince Charming. The irony that Nate is a divorce attorney and Emme is a wedding planner makes it an even better story. I loved the way the plot flowed so easily, both characters are entertaining and have a wonderful connection. I finished Only You within hours as I couldn’t put it down.
Only You is a beautifully written book that will definitely make your heart melt. I just can’t say enough good things about it and I highly recommend it.
What a great book… I love when the male character is just as in love as the female character… Love the chemistry between Emme and Nate…
I’m never disappointed in a Harlow book. I love all of her covers and her stories always make me so happy after I read them. I just want to clap and yell yay, another great one! I enjoyed Nate and Emme so much. I devoured this book! Now I can’t wait for the next one about her sister. Yay!!
“Only you. Always you.”
That quote right there is epic and everything!
I fell in love with Melaine’s work when I stumbled across Some Sort of Happy and it was the best stumble EVER!
Only You is the story of Emme and Nate, neighbors and fabulous friends, at first and then so much more!
Emme is the epitome of what every girl wants to be! She is independent, she is fierce in her beliefs and wants what she wants and doesn’t apologize for it! She is also whimsical and fun. She has had a string of bad luck in relationships but is holding out for her true love and when she finds it, she is patient, forgiving and strong when she needs to be!
Nate, oh Nate… Because of his past, he is fierce in his beliefs too and all comes crashing down when he finds out he is a father! Melanie really nails his parenting trials and tribulations with humor and reality! One of my favorite quotes is “…Yes, I’d like a case of Red Bull, 6 lines of cocaine, and a Pixie Stick.” It’s hysterical and if you are a parent, you know you have said some sort of version of this! It is spot on!
I enjoyed seeing past characters from Melanie’s books having a part in Emme & Nates story too. It was like a bit of a reunion with friends and it was good to see what everybody has been up to!
This book is another stellar addition to Melanie’s work! Do yourself a favor and read this and all of her past work! Thank you for your words and stories Melanie! Please don’t ever stop writing!
Emme Devine is a wedding planner with a successful career and a pretty nice life. The only thing missing from said life is romance, especially after her latest fiasco.
Nate Pearson is a divorce attorney who lives across the hallway from Emme. He doesn’t believe in love or HEA and seems pretty happy with his lifestyle and never ending string of hook ups. But that’s until the night they find a baby on his doorstep with a note telling it’s his and the world as he knows it is instantly turned upside down.
Broken by his past, Nate has carefully guarded his heart and made himself into a bit of a robot going through life’s motions and it takes his newfound parenthood to show him his plan is far from flawless. Emme is a breath of fresh air, a dreamer of sorts and exactly the woman Nate needs to balance him out. I loved both characters and their relationship.
Ms. Harlow never disappoints. Once again she has written a great love story. Being a fan of friends to lovers’ trope, I feel this one checked all the boxes. It’s heartfelt, sexy, romantic and funny. There isn’t a dull moment in this book and the only regret you’d have is passing it up.
I loved this book, it was funny and beautiful and just a great story.
It took me a bit to understand and like Nate, but once I did, I fell hard. Emme is fun and quirky, and even though a doormat at times, she got her happy ever after with her best friend.
I loved this book and I LOVE the cover. I had not read a story that hooked me so much since the first chapters, it’s not the perfect book but the story is so well developed that you can overlook certain things. The chemistry between the characters is believable and leaves you wanting to see their moments together. Nate steals your heart immediately, and Emme is so strong and brave. There is a perfect balance between them; you enjoy reading and seeing their evolution. And the ending was perfect, I just would have liked to see a little more of them in the future.
No doubt Only you is one of those books that I will remember with a smile on my face.
“I love you. Only you. Always you.” I smiled.
“Told you wishes come true.”
This story was not something I expected from Melanie. Okay, who am I kidding! Even the Pope would know to expect a superb read from Melanie! Emme and Nate were a match made in “locked-out” heaven.
I loved the way they had a friendship before any of the steamy stuff happened. Getting to see their thoughts on how they shouldn’t… oh, but maybe they could had me cracking a smile early on.
I adore Stella and Maren and I cannot wait to see more of them. Getting the check in on Mia and Coco was also wonderful! I love how Melanie is always able to bring her books full circle!
My blog partner has been an avid Melanie Harlow fan for, well forever! I decided to take a chance last year with From This Moment. I was hooked!! So, when Only You came available to read and review, I knew that I needed to try another book by her. I have to say, I am a little hooked! I really do need to binge read all of her work here soon!! Maybe this summer by the pool.
Anyway, I digress… Only You is a friends/ neighbors to lovers story that was just plain old fun to read.
Emme Devine, in a nut shell, is a hot mess when we first meet her. She has just been invited to her ex-boyfriends wedding. Needless to say, this invitation leads to a FIRING disaster that her neighbor and friend Nate Peasrson “saves” her from. The thing is, Emme saves Nate more in this book than he saves her.
I loved that Nate and Emme have a good foundation as friends first before they become more. I also love the heart that Emme has throughout this book. She was the perfect character to bring this divorce attorney to his knees.
“The very first night when you told me to make a wish, I wished that the next man you fell in love with would love you back the way you deserved. And he does.”
~ Melanie Harlow, Only You (One and Only #1)
After this second book, I have to tell you, I am such a Melanie Harlow fan! I am so glad that I took a chance and read her books. I think that everyone needs her books in their life!
I am so looking forward to the second book in this series coming June 4th!! Only Him! This will be Dallas and Maren’s story. Read Only You now so you are ready to go!

4.5 Only You Stars! Another amazing read by Melanie Harlow. When your life turns on a dime, and you find what you always thought you didn’t want right in front of you. A sweet, sexy friends to lovers story. Finding love and strength among chaos. Absolutely love and highly recommend this book.
This was a good friends to lovers romance read. The story started off a bit slow for me but then it had me laughing at Emme and Nate’s characters. I enjoyed their characters and I loved that this wasn’t an insta-love story. However, I felt as if something was missing from this story and it left me with a few unanswered questions. There were things I liked and disliked about this story. It had a few surprises, a bit of drama, great side characters and will have you laughing more than once but I wasn’t completely satisfied with the story. The ending was good and sweet, but I wish there was an epilogue to Emme and Nate’s story to completely wrap things up for me and leave me with satisfied feeling. It didn’t and I was a little disappointed. This wasn’t a bad read, it’s just that I was hoping for something a little more to make this a great read for me. The ending in this book although it was good and sweet, didn’t leave me wanting to read the next book in this series which is “Only Him” Dallas and Maren’s story.
This is the first book that I’ve read by Melanie Harlow (how is that possible?!?) and I will most definitely be reading more! She does a wonderful job of writing characters that are likable. I especially liked Emme, and felt like I could truly relate to her. Nate- I loved how devoted he became to his daughter. I felt the connection between the two of them right away- and Emme added so much to their relationship.
I am so glad that I stumbled upon this book! I will be going back and checking out her library of books!
*I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book.* Some say that the Universe has its own way of letting you know when the time is right. Unfortunately (or fortunately), the journey to get where you hope, isn’t always what you expect. Melanie Harlow presents us with another swoon-worthy romance that will leave you waiting with bated breath. For me, Emme, is the quintessential single woman trying to find her way through the dangerous jungle of dating. And unbeknownst to her, steering clear of the “tiger” in the form of her neighbor, Nate, proves to be a mighty big challenge. With a significant twist of events, their attraction is fiercely tested, but provides for the juiciest and most passionate moments. Each one more palpable than the last.
As with so many Harlow novels, her secondary characters are so well developed. I love the moments of sisterly love and advice that are sprinkled throughout this book. “Only You,” is chock full of characters that you become desperate to know more about, and Emme’s sisters, Maren and Stella are no exception. Beloved Harlow characters that we have come to know and love make appearances that are representative of what we hold near and dear to our hearts.
Each time I was forced to step away from this book, I was itching to come back to it. I was left on the edge waiting to fall or be saved. Melanie Harlow amazes me with each new book, and “Only You” certainly fits the bill.
This was a very sweet and smooth ride.. The story about Nate and Emme two good friends with diffrent goals and diffrent lives living in the same building just across from each other..
Emme is a beautiful woman who had so many bad experiences with men and love.. she doesn’t want to fall for another man who will not commit or wont want the same happily every after.. she doesn’t want a heartbreak all over again.. but nothing is written and everything is about to change with such sweet and unexpected arrival..
Nate living in “fear” not wanting to fall in love or give his love to anybody.. he has a wall in his heart.. he thinks love is pain, sacrifice and nothing but a heartache.. he doesn’t want a woman in his life, a family or any of that.. he was used to work, fun and women leaving his home after a fun night.. but never wanted more, never seeked for more.. until she arrived unexpectedly.. she is sweet, small and doesn’t even know how to speak but still she’s already messing up with their lives..
love the friendship Nate and Emme have.. they’re fun and mature together .. even though Nate keeps trying to put a wall between them .. being afraid of letting go.. but Emme has the power to bring those walls down..
Nate had a past that is not letting him be free or feel free.. he’s been carrying this sadness and memories for so long … he has put so many walls because of this sad memories.. now the question is if he would be able to open his heart for Emme and Paisley..
Love the story, the characters.. Emme was a strong heroine even if at times seems like she gave too much.. and believed too much but she always had her priorities in check.. Nate was a good man, with a good heart but fear and sadness kept him away from what he most wanted and needed .. love, family and trust.. nothing will ever be the same, if he never let himself go..
great secondary characters.. Stella, Rachel, Maren all of them helped to make this story more wonderful and with a great happy ending … just brilliant..
Can’t wait to read Only Him the story of Dallas and Maren!!
