Nate Pearson is ridiculously handsome and wears the hell out of a suit and tie, but I’ve seen the parade of beautiful women leaving his apartment across the hall – a different one every time – and I want no part of it. When it comes to romance, I’m looking for something real, something that will last: the happily ever after. As a divorce attorney, he loves to tell me there’s no such thing. As a … thing.
As a wedding planner, I choose to disagree.
We disagree on almost everything, in fact. Everything except James Bond. The only time we really get along is when we’re watching 007 flicks together, and I’ll admit – he has rescued me from a disaster or five. So when one of the baton twirlers from his parade leaves a baby girl at his door with a note that says “I’ll come back for her” and he begs me for help, I can’t turn him down.
But it’s a mistake.
Because watching him with his daughter, I start to see another side of Nate, a side that has my breath coming faster, my body craving his, my heart longing for him to change his mind about love and tell me there’s a chance for us.
I don’t want to be just another girl leaving his apartment in the morning.
I want to be the one he asks to stay.

“I had made up my mind long ago that love was something to be feared. Avoided. And if necessary, sabotaged. Otherwise it would destroy you.”
3.5 Stars…this book had some unexpected twist. I love how it wasn’t your typical alpha male who is a playboy and girl with stars in her eyes to change him. There is depth in their backgrounds that has them protecting their hearts.
“I didn’t need to be the center of his universe, but I’d at least like to feel like a part of the sky.”
I picked this book up as a freebie from another author and I really enjoyed this friends to lovers story with a twist. Paisley added another dimension of reality and challenge to a man like Nate.
Nate and Emme have A great friendship in which he rescues her too often. His nickname for her is Calamity. But thing change significantly when she rescues home from a life altering situation. And you could say, the rest is in the stars…or a wish at 11:11.
Only You..,Always You.
Love ALL of Melanie’s books!!!
I loved everything about this book! I fell in love with the characters and beautiful storyline in this friend-to-lovers romance. The chemistry between Nate and Emme is sizzling; their attraction is magnetic and irresistible. Try as they may to fight how they feel, they are powerless to stop the fall. The flirting, the banter, the rapport and the sarcasm between the characters was so much fun to read, was so natural, and had me laughing too. This powerful love story is sweet, sexy, and heart-melting. The story is flawless and beautifully written; so many scenes simply stole my breath. The heartfelt moments deeply resonated with me. The emotions were palpable as if I could feel everything the characters experienced. I adored the relationship Emme had with her sisters; so much unconditional love and support. This love story is breathtakingly romantic and powerfully moving. I highly recommend this book!
Gosh!
I haven’t been this crazy over a book in some time now!
To the point where I was literally swooning and having dreams about Emme and Nate charterers. Call me crazy if you will.
But, the heart needs what heart needs and I needed a great irresistible love story. One where the banter was off the charts, where the chemistry was so explosive, worthy, oh and the smart as heck!
I got that and in volumes with Only You! The notion of stealing my heart with every word and every turn had me as a disheveled mess!
Heck, I wouldn’t have it any other way. If a story is that perfectly follow with it, let it permeate your heart and run with it!
I finally got a chance to go back and read Emme and Nate’s story even though I had already read the second book in the series first about Maren and Dallas in Only Him and I’m very glad I went back and did. I loved seeing the support of the three (very different) sisters for each other and also both Nate’s and Emme’s personal growth throughout the story. Looking forward to reading Stella’s story now.
Melanie Harlow writes the BEST loves stories hands down! I know when I pick up one of her books, that I am going to fall in love with the characters and their story. Emme and Nate did not disappoint! Now, there were times I wanted to shake the crap out of Nate and tell him to pull his head out of his behind, but knowing the history with his Mom made it easier to understand him and all his what-ifs. I hope we get to hear more from them in the other Only books but also can’t wait to read about Maren and a Stella!
Although the premise of this story is a little implausible, with a woman leaving a baby outside the apartment, I enjoyed the story, and the development of love between the characters.
Nate is a divorce lawyer and had a pretty rough up bringing so his idea of love and marriage is non existent. Then you have Emme who whole heartedly believe in love and marriage. I thought the story was cute. I loved how Nate had his life up rooted and he had to learn to deal with it. It was process. I liked the flow of the story. Easy read.
Great Story! I love this friends to lovers story. Nate is so handsome with his baby! And Emme is a beautiful and great character! The narration is well done. I like Stephen Dexter and Lauren Ezzo’s voices! I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.
Absolutely loved this book and the characters!!! The friendship and love that is shown by both Nate and Emme is heartwarming. My heart broke for Nate, but watching him face his fears and overcome them was incredible to watch. If you want a book full of passion, steam, and laugh out loud moments, you’ll want to grab this one immediately.
Emme and Nate are next door neighbors who have each other firmly in the friend zone until a baby gets left on Nate’s doorstep with a note saying the baby is his and the baby mama needs a break. I will tell you that this is where I had a momentary pause to decide if I wanted to keep reading. I just don’t buy that a woman left the baby in a hallway outside the door of her one night stand’s house without even making sure he was home. But I decided to let it slide, and the rest of the book is pretty cute. There is some definite humor while Nate is having a crash course in baby care. And the ending is pretty cute!
Only you

Eeekkk !! Nate and Emme!!! I just love this story !!! And that ending omg !!! Fabs. Just fabs!!!
Melanie Harlow never ever ever disappoints!!! She is one of my favorite authors !!
I forgot I hadn’t reviewed this despite the fact I could see it lurking at the top left corner of Goodreads. Oh well.
Very Contemporary Romance with lots of fun banter, lots of sex and a friends-to-lovers misfit couple.
The premise is the night the heroine gets an invitation to her ex-boyfriend’s wedding to her skinnier ex-employee, the H gets a little something as well, the baby he never knew he had.
Very cute, great banter and lots of sexy times. You can fill in the blanks, she’s curvy and a little bit accident prone, he has a revolving door of sex kittens because…..BACKSTORY! He pulls away and okay, yes, a teensy bit cliched and been there-done that, but the writing, banter and voice of the characters was better than most with some laugh out loud moments.
I hate to say that I forgot some things that happened, but it’s Kindle Unlimited for now and was a fun read.
Sweet. I liked it.
Typically in a book you have 2 main characters, Hero and Heroine. In Only Love you get a “side character” that definitely adds an element of humor and uniqueness to this book that sets it apart. I won’t spoil it by telling you too much, but just know that if you love blunt humor with a dash of love then you will appreciate the addition.
I feel like I say this after every Melanie Harlow book, but Ryan is my new fave!!
Ryan has some issues in his past that make him a bit of a loner, and Stella sort of wears her feelings on her sleeves. I dont want to give too much away, but please note that Ryan is so unique and carefully written that you can’t help but love him.
Here’s the thing about Melanie’s characters that set her writing apart from others: She has this unique way of creating completely broken and “realistic” characters that you totally relate to in one way or another. Everyone is not a beauty queen or a millionnaire, they have flaws…but, she does it without losing that “hope” or take me to another place thing that we all look for in a book. That’s not easy to do, and I look forward to it each time I read her books!! You will walk away with a warmer heart after reading this book!!!
Stella and Ryan find their way…with a lot of help!
Only Love is Book 3 in Melanie Harlow’s One and Only series! This one was a mix of funny but horrible situations (getting dumped on your birthday because you aren’t physical enough, when you thought your boyfriend was going to propose!), lots of swoon-worthy bits (a new swing!), good old fashioned “how to get and keep a man” advice from Grams, and heart wrenching moments from Ryan’s brother-in-arms. I loved the characters in this book. Each was developed in a way that had you feeling like you knew these people personally, and you were as invested in their progress as they were. I must admit, I loved Grams with her advice and subtle trickery. She just knows Stella needs a man like Ryan (the ‘boy’ who lives next to Grams and has been helping her maintain her home.
Stella has avoided love and she believes she doesn’t need the soul impact of great sex in her relationships. But when she gets dumped for not being physical with her boyfriend, her sisters tell her she needs a physical relationship. Who knew she would find it with the man next door to her beloved Grams. But Ryan has issues of his own to deal with. He returned from duty to find out his wife had been cheating on him for a year and they never really loved each other. Then there was a child that he befriended that turned into a suicide bomber. Ryan can turn off his feelings like a switch, and he needs to do that so that he can continue to survive. Then he meets Stella, and he has to react to falling in love. Thanks to Grams, he gets another chance to turn himself back on, and spend his life with Stella.
I received an ARC copy of this book and am voluntarily reviewing it. All opinions expressed in this review are my own and given freely.
Oh the what seems impossible to some, it possible to others. Two different people who believe two different things coming together is just magical! I am in love with Nate and Emme!! They have been friends for awhile and when something happens to one, the other jumps in to help! They realize things they didn’t see at first! I love this world that Ms. Harlow is creating and definitely can’t wait to read more from this series!
This book! All the feels!
That Stella she was so matter of fact that sex was not the most important part of a relationship. Boy was she missing out! She just need the right man to make those sparks fly and Ryan was that man.
Ryan, the former marine living next door to the most amazing grams, thought he deserved being alone after the things he has seen and done. But he cannot resist Stella.
These two were so hot and perfect for each other.
Of course there is angst! And tears! And heartbreak! But don’t worry Melanie will put your heart back together.
Only You by Melanie Harlow a five-star read that will leave that will make you swoon. This book was so well written it will captivate your heart and leave you in love with a book. Nate Pearson Divorce attorney at large and his beautiful neighbour Emme Wedding planner extraordinaire, have been friends and Nate has been rescuing her for a long time, and they have been just friends for a while, but when one night everything changes, neither will be the same ever again. One little package and Nate will be the one needing to be rescued.
This was such a compelling read, friends to lovers is always a good genre and this was one of the best I’ve read. Throw in a single dad who is just heart meltingly amazing with moments that you would swear at him thrown into keep it interesting. I can’t wait for the next book Only Him, if its half as good I can’t wait.
