I made my name winning cases. Carter Sloane is known for being sharp, astute, and never taking no for an answer. At home, though, I’m fumbling my way through raising my two nieces and saying yes to far too many bowls of ice cream. If only I wasn’t so distracted by the woman across from my new office.Running a booming fragrance business gives Valentina Connor a great excuse to avoid dating. But I … avoid dating. But I see right through her. I’m not going to be another bad decision.
I can’t believe how easily Val slips into our lives, doting on my nieces and making me fall for her.
I’d move mountains to make her happy, but with Val’s career soaring, how can I ask her to commit to the chaos of my life?

I think this is my favorite Connor family book to date ( but I think I say that about every book ). Val has been the family matriarch for a very long time, and she deserves happiness too, which we finally get to see.
Carter is this magnanimous man, with intelligence, sexiness, and a wonderful personality. He’s raising his nieces and running a law firm full time, while trying to maintain symbolism in his life. Along comes Val and everything becomes eskew. How do you run a business, work lawyer hours, raise two impressionable girls alone, and start a relationship at the same time? You do it with someone like Val, that’s how.
These two are perfect for one another, their story is their own, so I can’t give the plot with spoilers, bit this book is so worth it. I voluntarily reviewed this book from the author. I implore you to one-click immediately.
Val reminds me a lot of Pippa from the Bennet series. And rightly so. She had the same responsibilities if not more within her family and she’s literally like a mamma bear. So of course I wanted the best for her! I dived in being quite cautious and demanding from the hero to be at his best in order to convince me that he’s suitable for Val. But with Carter’s personality…it’s quiet hard not to like him. He just wants to make her laugh and to take the burden from that list of responsibilities that each day grows bigger. He’s literally the perfect match. Ruthless in his job to be successful and help her but so soft and tender between closed doors. And the way he’s behaving with his nieces *swoon*
Story full of love, laughing out loud moments and no unnecessary drama. Win-win if you ask me!
I absolutely love this series. Whenever I finish a book from this series, I just feel happy. I didn’t have to experience angst, heartache, anger, or anything except happiness.
I love how this author’s characters discuss their issues and work out their problems without any drama.
I was so happy to read Valentina’s story. She has sacrificed so much and worked so hard as one of the heads of the family, and it was great to see her finally getting her own happy ever after.
It was also great to see the rest of the Connor clan, and I am so looking forward to hearing Jace and Hailey’s stories.
Oh my gosh!! I absolutely love Carter!! First let me say that Layla Hagen writes in such a descriptive way that you can actually visualize the people and places in your head. Not only that but she writes her characters in such a way that you feel like you know them intimately and that you are going through their trials right along with them.
This is the fourth book in the Connor Family series. This book focuses on Valentina. She is the oldest girl and twin to Landon (from Book 1). She is an independent, driven woman who has built this cosmetic empire but struggles with finding the right man. In walks Carter, literally. He has just moved his law office to the area and meets Valentina at the local coffee shop. He is a very successful, up and coming lawyer with his own firm. He is also raising his two nieces.
Let me just say the chemistry and sparks between Carter and Val are off the charts. As they spend time together and get to know each other, they realize they may have found what they have been looking for. But life intervenes. Between busy and often opposing schedules, the two nieces activities and a law suit, their commitment is tried. When misunderstandings and past events taint their current view, things seem iffy. Gotta love life getting in the way. Is there anything more real than obligations and commitments bogging down our desires as well as our hopes and dreams?
I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review. And my honest opinion is read this book now! It will not disappoint.
Val and Carter gave me a fabulously sexy romance to devour. Val has done so much to take care of her siblings and then build her business but love has alluded her. A chance encounter at her favorite coffee shop starts a new friendship with Carter. Carter is a successful attorney who is now navigating the waters of parenthood after his sister dies and he is named guardian of his nieces. Relocating his business puts him in a new neighborhood which allows him to meet beautiful Val. These two accomplished individuals begin a fun flirtation via text that includes parenting advice for Carter. Even as they both love spending time together, they both have reservations having been burned before in their dating experiences. Add in the rest of the Connor clan to round out all the wonderful brotherly/sisterly butting in and advice along the way. I love spending time with the Connor family and was so happy for Val to find her happily ever after. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
Oh I just love this Connor Clan, this is Valentina’s story.
Val is the caretaker of the family and she has a fragrance company but someone is threatening her business. Carter is the guardian of his late sister’s girls and a hot shot lawyer.
This is hot sweet sexy and lovely romance. I love this family so much
Being in over his head is about to cost him his heart. Only With You brings laughter and love, but the key ingredient that holds it all together is family. Hagen never misses the chance to send a shout-out to the unsung heroes in our lives. The people that help us become who we are. The loved ones we’ve lost, but never forgotten and the people make us better for knowing them. Valentina and Carter are reminder of what the important things are.
Gah, Layla took this story of Carter & Val and rocked it!
Val and her brother put their lives aside and raised their siblings when their parents passed away. Now it’s Val’s time to shine, running her company and enjoying life, when at the coffee shop one morning she meets Carter, and while trying to stay guarded, because she’s had her heart hurt repeatedly, they both find over coffee & lunch “dates” that they have a lot in common.
These two have an amazing chemistry that comes through hot as heck! Of course it’s not all easy sailing for them, with misunderstandings and life getting in the way!
5 amazing stars for this one, I can’t wait for the next book in this series! Grab this one on release day and enjoy the ride!!
Only With You is that book, that makes your heart feel all warm and fuzzy. I started off reading Hagen’s Bennett Series, and have been hooked since then. I absolutely adore how this author makes such strong family connections in the Bennett and Connor Series. Both so family oriented, and light hearted, it is so easy to be consumed with each and every book.
Only With You is a dual pov that can be read as a standalone, but is also interconnected. Even though this is a light book, don’t let it fool you, because there is just the right amount of heat, that will set you ablaze. The maturity in this book is one of the reasons I love this authors writing so much. It’s a nice change of pace, especially from arrogant heroes. It is also nice to see when mistakes are made, the characters own up to them and act their ages. The plot is not long and drawn out, which gives more story, a more fulfilling story, where you don’t feel like important details are left out. It feels complete. I also admire how this author makes me feel with every page I turn. I can feel the respect, the devotion and most importantly the love from every single page that is turned. I thoroughly enjoyed each and every character. I loved how they were so passionate about everything they did in life. Rather that be work or family. I loved how the odds were stacked against them, again in either work or their personal lives, and they rose above. I loved how unselfish they were, even with circumstances were not the best. It was truly a journey that I enjoyed going down with Carter and Val.
*I recommend this book.
Bring on the swoon! 5 Knight in Shining Armor Stars!! Carter Sloane is just amazing! Tall, dark and yes please! This adorable, vulnerable and super sexy man will absolutely steal your heart. Add in the fact that he is a successful attorney who is now raising his two nieces and rocking it and he is the perfect match for Valentina Connor. Valentina is one special lady! She is finally getting her HEA after years of working hard to raise her younger siblings and get her business off the ground. She deserves to be treated the way Carter treats her. They have amazing chemistry and are both strong characters on their own but together, wow! I love the breakfast meetings and of course that one time when she really needs him to that Carter steps in and saves the day!!
Layla Hagen won my loyalty as a reader with her Bennett family series, but now with the Connor’s she is never getting rid of me! As always this story has the right amount of everything a romance should have and Layla spins her words beautifully. The characters feel like friends and people you just want to be around, so of course you want to read their beautiful love story. The other family members interspersed throughout the story are like touching base with friends and family you have missed and haven’t seen in a while.
I absolutely love this book!

Only With You is another fantastic and romantic love story from Layla Hagen.
Layla has an amazing talent when it comes to writing a family saga series. I fell in love with the Bennett’s and I continue to fall in love with Connor’s as we meet them.
Only With You is the fourth book in Layla’s Connor Family Series. This book is about the oldest Sister, Valentina. This book is a standalone and told in Dual POV. I would recommend reading this series in order so you get the full effect of the Connor family. You don’t have to read her Bennett Series before jumping into the Connor’s. This is a spin-off series and we only see some cameos from the Bennetts. As always, this was another great addition to this already fantastic series.
This book has very little drama, but it was so sweet, romantic, and swoony that I got swept up into the story. I loved both Val and Carter.
Like I said Val is the oldest sister in the Connor family. She is Landon’s twin sister and when their parents passed away suddenly, Landon and Val took over raising their siblings. Val has always had the maternal instinct and has never looked at raising her siblings as a burden. But she also always wanted to open her own business. Now that everyone is older, she has had the chance to that. Val has become well known in the fragrance world. Carter is someone who has also dealt with a sudden loss of someone close to him. When his sister and brother-in-law were tragically killed in an accident, he took over raising his nieces, Peyton and April. Peyton is 5 and April is 14. He struggles with raising the girls to the best of his ability and running his law firm. A chance encounter bring Val and Carter together but past tragedies bind them together. Both of these two have some serious insecurities from some failed relationships. Can they lean on each other to find their HEA??
I enjoyed seeing all the Connor clan in this story as well. I liked we got to see more of Jace and Hailey , I felt we got to know these two Connors better. I look forward to their books in the future. The cameo of 2 of the Bennett’s also brought a smile to my face. I miss that family 🙂
If you are a fan of family saga’s then jump into the mix with The Connor’s. These stories will entertain you and leave you smiling. Oh…and the Heroes will melt your kindle 😉 Don’t miss Layla’s newest romance novel….it’s worth the read!!!!
