I was expecting a proposal on my birthday, and I got dumped instead. How could I have been so clueless?Grams knew exactly how to distract me.The gorgeous former Marine next door who’s been helping her with yard work clearly needs a little therapy. Who better to call than her newly single therapist granddaughter? She even fakes dementia to get me to visit, and now that I’m here she’s doing … that I’m here she’s doing everything in her power to throw us together.
Not that I’m complaining. Ryan is the sexiest man I’ve ever met–I mean the full package, from the chiseled jaw to the massive shoulders to the rippling abs. (And yes, his package is full, and he knows exactly how to deliver it.) He makes me want to get out of my head and follow my heart. He makes me want to take chances I never thought I’d take.
He also makes me want to take my clothes off. A lot.
But he’s moody and challenging–one minute he’s an open book, and the next he’s completely closed off. He holds me like he’ll never let go, but insists he wants to be alone.
Some wounds are so deep, only love can heal them.
How can I convince him to let me try?

Confession time: I haven’t read the other titles in this series of standalone books from Melanie Harlow. And with going in blind (no blurb reading here) I was able to follow along with Only Love just fine.
Sensible. Intelligent. Kind. Analytical. Inexperienced. Hopeful. I think my favorite thing about Stella was her awkwardness. She was so unsure of herself, of her power and beauty and while it could’ve been off putting, I found it kind of endearing. And Ryan found it irresistible. Even when he didn’t want to. He was a bit reclusive. Standoffish. He had a few close friendships but no real attachments. He liked it that way. Until Stella. He didn’t know what it was about her but he couldn’t get her out of his head. Even when she was trying to get into his.
With a meddling grandmother, pie, curious sisters, meatloaf and fast feels, Only You was entertaining from start to finish. It held true to what I’ve come to know and love an expect from Melanie Harlow. Wonderfully flawed characters, some humor, some steam, some drama, some forgiveness and a whole lot of love. And that ending, was everything Stella and Ryan wanted and deserved.
Gahh! I love damaged heroes! Ryan is my perfect hero! Only Love is heartfelt, there are laughs, it’s sexy and original and I just LOVE it! This is the kind of book you devour and then you’re left with all the feels – which is MY kind of book!
Only Love is a beautiful novel about a wounded hero and a strong heroine that’d leave you begging for more! A must read!
Loved this sweet, sexy romance from Melanie Harlow!
I love anything by Melanie Harlow! #ONECLICK!
Only love is about the oldest Devine sister Stella. Stella is a therapist who tends to shelter her heart and not take risks with it. Ryan is former Marine with a tortured past. Then there’s grams who I absolutely love with her meddling ways and her magical apple pie. This book was well written with all the feels that had me tearing up and then laughing at grams meddling ways.
Only love is the last book in the one and only series. It can be read separately but I recommend reading them all to get the full background on the Devine sisters.
I’m relatively new to Melanie Harlow’s writing – I read the first two books in the One and Only series, my introduction to her work, a few weekends ago – but I am absolutely a fan. I devoured those two books in 48 hours, and I waited eagerly for this book which I devoured in a day. Harlow’s writing is vibrant yet cozy, and she packs a serious punch to the feels within her steamy, romantic love stories. I can’t get enough of her writing, her characters and her poignant, tender love stories.
Only Love brings together the third Devine sister, Stella, a therapist, with Ryan, a former Marine and the next-door neighbor to Stella’s meddling, matchmaking grandmother. Stella had a hard time not slipping into therapist mode with both Ryan and her sisters, yet it was exactly that background that gave her the tools she needed to deal with this complicated man. Ryan learned to turn off his emotions as a coping mechanism during his time in the military, and my heart positively ached for this veteran and all the pain and emotional trauma he endured. Stella was incredibly patient, compassionate and understanding with him, but her heart was on the line here, too, and she had her own insecurities and baggage to contend with. While their road to happily-ever-after wasn’t exactly easy, it was passionate, romantic and moving. Harlow took her readers on a touching, heartrending journey to love with all of its ups and downs, and ultimately created a perfectly paired couple in Stella and Ryan.
I loved this entire series. Each sisters’ story was beautiful and sexy and fun, but Stella’s was the most emotionally rewarding. I couldn’t help but want a happily ever after for this couple, and I got completely wrapped up in their pursuit of it. While it was definitely a difficult ride sometimes, their journey was worth everything they had to get through to get there, especially when Grams got involved. The groundwork was laid in these books for Harlow’s next series, and I can’t wait for it! Five smooches from me for Only Love by Melanie Harlow!

Two lost souls searching for someone to love and protect their hearts, Melanie creates characters so real that you instantly connect with them. In this case Ryan, an ex-marine is trying to fit into civilian life, deal with his feelings of guilt over lost comrades lives, and take a chance at having feelings again. Stella has also had heart ache, never really finding that someone special, and wondering if she ever will find her true love. I truly applauded the way Melanie delved into Ryan’s psyche showing us what being a veteran is like and how it has effected his life. Some real life moments, and soul wrenching sadness kept me reeling with emotion throughout this incredible story!! I loved the way Stella, being a therapist was able to help Ryan come to terms with his past. Their relationship was beautiful and I just couldn’t get enough!! I must say Stella’s “Gram” was uplifting and hilarious. I loved her wit and her meddling made me laugh out loud many times. The entire story was so well written and all the characters were so life like as only Melanie Harlow can do!! I recommend you read the entire series as Stella’s sisters Maren and Emme are also amazing characters you won’t want to miss!!!
Need to read all three, but this one is the best!
Ryan is the broody guy that lives next door to Grams, Stella’s grandmother. Grams takes it upon herself by using any means necessary to get Ryan and Stella to not only meet, but to become so much more. Will Ryan be just what Stella has needed? Will Stella be able to break through and bring some happiness to Ryan’s life?
You cannot go wrong with anything this author writes, this book is another great example of her talent. There was heat, swooning, tenderness, guilt to overcome, healing, heart breaking moments, passion and jaw dropping sexiness – so many feels, but is was an amazing ride that I would ride over and over again.
The characters were absolutely beautiful and I loved following them on their journey.
Loved loved loved Grams’ feistiness and her sneaky matchmaking ways!!
Only Love is about a gorgeous former marine, Ryan – a tortured soul who happens to live next door to one determined meddlesome grandmother who wants to make sure her oldest granddaughter, Stella, will find true love. Stella, the therapist, thought that her boyfriend, Professor Walter, was going to propose to her at a fancy dinner, but after three glasses of wine, the truth came out that he was seeing someone else and wanted to break up with her. Grandma Ruth decides she is having some dementia issues and needs some assistance with doctor appointments. Stella re-arranges her schedule and goes to help out Grandma when all the plans fall into place.
This story will knock your socks off. I wish that my grandmother was as savvy as Ruth!
I was captivated with this incredible love story from the very beginning right to the very end! Only Love is emotional, breathtaking, powerfully raw, and inspiring. The storyline is very well-written and I felt like I was part of this story. I adored the characters — an incredibly sexy, fiercely protective, broken hero and a beautiful, sweet, and resilient heroine. The chemistry between Ryan and Stella was undeniable and electric. They share an intense connection and I loved seeing these two fall in love. Their attraction was magnetic and chemistry off-the-charts. Their passion is sizzling and explosive. Their witty exchanges had me smiling often. The push and the pull between them was intense. The storyline is a rollercoaster ride of emotions. I could feel everything the characters experienced; the emotions radiated from the pages. I laughed, cried so many tears (happy and sad), felt the butterflies, the heart palpitations, every ounce of pain and all the joy. The heartfelt moments stole my breath and the heartbreaking ones shattered my heart. Oh, and those swoon-worthy moments left me breathless! A powerful and poignant story of letting go and finding love when you least expect it. I didn’t want this story to end. A must read!

Only Love by Melanie Harlow is a contemporary romance told in the first person with multiple POVs. It’s book three in the One and Only series, but can definitely be read as a standalone. Having not read the previous books, I didn’t feel like I was missing any prior information.
Stella just got dumped by her long-term boyfriend, and he did it on her birthday. She can’t believe she didn’t see it coming. So what happens when her scheming Grams decides to set her up with Ryan, the broody Marine next door? Why is he so hot and cold? And why can’t Ryan and Stella seem to stay away from each other? Read the book to find out.
I enjoyed Stella and Ryan’s story. I thought they were well matched with Stella being a therapist and Ryan dealing with issues of post-military life. The chemistry between them was great, but I found the instalove aspect a bit unbelievable and thought the journey from sexual attraction to love happened too quickly for a couple with their particular hang-ups. The story was emotional, heartwarming, and sprinkled with humor thanks to Grams. Overall, an enjoyable read.

I purchased a copy of the One and Only steamy 3 book boxset featuring the sisters Emme,Maren, and Stella’s quests for love by Melanie Harlow and this review was given freely.
The three sisters meet handsome and sexy men who don’t believe in love or relationships until after they meet, profess their love to and then dump their respective sister.
Each story has a rocky romance, wonderful characters,a happy ending and an increasing level of steam. While each story features a certain sister, each novel contains the continuing lives of the previous couple and is best read in sequence.
Only You: Emme and Nate
A neighbors and friends to more romance. Sinical divorce attorney and playboy Nate usually rescues his danger prone nextdoor neighbor the wedding planner Emme until a baby abandoned at his door leaves him shocked and clueless. Dramatic, humorous and action packed, combining secret attraction with the chaos of becoming a new parent.
Only Him: Maren and Dallas
High school sweethearts reunite when tattoo artist Dallas stops in Detroit on his way to have brain surgery to apologize for suddenly dumping yoga and wellness studio owner Emme.
Drama in the form of a sinister dream, the emotional stress of a cancer diagnosis and, the emotional trauma of a misunderstanding family add interest to this rocky second chance at love romance.
Only Love: Stella, Grams and Ryan
A steamy ex Marine romance with humor and interest in the form of a feisty and conniving matchmaking grandmother. Unlucky in love psychologist Stella goes to visit her grandmother only to fall in love with the emotionally challenged next door neighbor. Contains a serious and poignant undertone in the form of low self esteem, divorce, the ex-military struggle to assimilate into civilian life, and suicide.
Stella Devine is a therapist who was dumped on her birthday when she thought she was getting a proposal. When her grandmother gets involved inviting Stella to help her she ends up match maker with Ryan the ex-Marine next door who has been helping her around her house. Incredible read. Loved it
Strong, buttoned up, set in her ways Stella finds herself at a complete lose when her long-term boyfriend does not propose but breaks up with her, on her birthday no less! Her grandmother calls unexpectedly acting very unlike herself and decides to head up there to see for herself. Her grandmother though seems to be just fine and the boy next door who has been seeing to her heard work, is most certainly not a boy. He is a very definition of a soldier and she finds herself dreaming of him. But he is not whole, he is damaged and closed off and not interested, at all. Or at least she thought so… Happily ever after are never fairytale perfect and often come about after a lot of soul searching and a willingness to be brave and take a leap. Can she do it? Can he? You will have to read it to find out! Just as perfect as Emme and Marens stories and not to be missed!
