Life at the Houston Report for Investigative Journalist Desiree Stevens is no longer a fulfilling one. She’s contemplating moving back to Chicago where her family resides, but Desiree can’t deny that returning to her hometown for the sake of employment is her only reason. Just a few weeks prior, Desiree had the pleasure of meeting philanthropist Julian Alexander Rose, awkwardly enough, at the … hospital. And since the strange encounter, getting Julian off her mind has been Desiree’s biggest failure.
International male model, Julian Alexander Rose is in the highlight of his career. As the owner of A Few Good Men Male Modeling Agency, Julian has his hands full with day-to-day business activities. He’s only in Chicago for a short while upon meeting Desiree Steven’s, and the unbridled hunger that overtakes Julian is soul-stirring at least. From the moment their worlds collide, Julian’s certain there’s more to their supernatural connection. Being a man unwilling to let Desiree get away, Julian formulates the perfect plan that lands them alone together, and his next move may just bring him to his knees.
The Falling for a Rose series follows each member of the Rose family as they explore this thing called love. However, each book is just as enjoyable if read as a standalone as it is if read in the series order.

STORY
I liked Desiree’s and Julian’s story. I found myself liking the lengths Julian went through to get Desiree’s attention. Their chemistry was likable and relatable.
I think for me, why it didn’t wow me, was the pace of the story. I was not a fan of that. I like both side of the main characters families, and I didn’t see much of them. I wanted to know Claudia’s thoughts on Desiree’s relationship with Julian because of the relationship that connects them. Furthermore, I also don’t think that hinder that came between their relationship was strong enough.
SEXUAL CHEMISTRY:
Sex scenes were good. They were just right for both characters and matched them well.
SECONDARY CHARACTERS:
I like Santana, Desiree’s best friend, however, as I stated I didn’t get to see either side of the family as much to enjoy the family unit aspect of the story.
OVERALL
A nice read that I was not in love with but rather in like with.
TRIGGERS:
****I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the books you read. I know we all have different opinions and preferences with what we read. I based my book reviews on my preferences and what I like, and while these preferences may not be the same for others, I hope this review was still helpful.
Another Rose
What a superb series! Getting involved with the characters and I cannot get enough. So many themes and the author deals with each problem splendidly. My favorite theme was when the sisters settled their differences and love blossomed. I have enjoyed this book and the previous books.
Man, Julian is almost too much. He goes after what he wants no holds barred. He is not just a pretty face.
Desiree has scars from her past with insecurities about herself. Can see heal old wounds so she can take step into a new chapter in her life?
Determined
What I like about these books are that it’s not all about being swept off your feet in unimaginable ways but more like these are possibilities in the world today.
Finding a strong man who knows what he wants but it’s not about controlling what you do or how you do it but supporting you wholeheartedly.
Julian gives her what she needs even when she doesn’t know it herself.
I love the fact that this book and this series is about strong black men falling in love with intelligent, independent sistas.
This is my 3rd book into the series, and I am starting to see a pattern where the women are somewhat emotionally damaged. I love that the men are so supportive.
In the case of Julian and Desiree, it bothered me that after seeing old girl at the photo shoot, she wanted to hide. To doubt and second guess everything. Whatever happened to “never let them see you sweat”? Whatever happened to confronting a situation and getting some answers? My thought was if Desired was that insecure, how was she going to have a life with international model Julian Rose?
I liked the story, but I hope going forward that the some of the women get a little more backbone, especially if the men are going to be so strong and self assured.
h boy I’m a little late in getting this review up! I did received an ARC for an honest review.
First off I got to say that this series just keeps getting better and better. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am sad that I had to put off reading it because of family issues. But I am glad that this book was able to take me away from those issues if only for a little while.
I was happy to find out that not only was Julian a model, he knew the ends and out of the industry as well. He was involved in the whole development – concepts, the planning, and being the photographer if needed. He knew what he wanted and went for it. Yet he was so afraid and unsure as well when it came to Desiree. Desiree too, was relatable. She’s ambitious and yet so vulnerable as well with her past affecting how she’s lived her life. The sex scenes…man…Julian is intense!!! LOL!
There was a confusing page/part I’d read but maybe because I got an advance copy. Very minor only but hopefully it was something her beta readers had already pointed out to her. I can’t wait to read the next story as it seems those two characters got along very well, LOL.
