He’s bossy, moody, and overprotective. He’s also a pro athlete who needs to focus on winning games and staying out of the headlines.I’m fiercely independent and need a man like I need a second period each month. So when our worlds collide, I never expected him to be the one to jump in and save me. Especially not when my roommate disappears, leaving me with her baby.I’m clueless about babies—and … baby.
I’m clueless about babies—and it shows. Good thing Alexei isn’t. With six nieces and nephews and an apparent hero complex, the dude is both sexy and more than capable. It’s a combination that makes it easy to forget we’re just playing house.

What a fun book!
I loved this story. It was a quick read and once you get started you won’t want to put it down. Alexei meets Ryleigh outside of a topless bar where she is a waitress and he comes to her rescue. She takes him up on the offer of a ride home and he gets to meet Ella, a 2 month old that she is taking care of since the baby’s mom is not in the picture and as you read the book you will see why this is. Ryleigh has some issues and Alexei is there to help. Their relationship will slowly take shape and you are along for the ride.
The story was good, the characters are great and you get to catch up with characters from previous books and see how they are doing. Kendall Ryan has done it again.
This is hands down my favorite Kendall Ryan book so far! It was so easy to get swept up in the story and want all the good things for Ryleigh and Alexei!
I see so many reviews for this saying that they didn’t like it because of the instant connections and low conflict. Well guys, those are some of my favorite things to read about in romance! Is it realistic? Nope. But oh well, it’s what I like and Kendall didn’t let me down.
Ryleigh and Alexei we two people that I shipped from the start. Ryleigh is taking care of a baby that isn’t hers and Alexei is this big teddy bear/ baby whisper who wants to take care of them. My heart literally couldn’t take these good samaritans. They bonded fast, but wouldn’t you if you were spending every day in an apartment with someone?
Their chemistry was off the charts and the sex scenes between them were EVERYTHING! I loved how Alexei didn’t care what others thought about their situation. Also, that epilogue was going to be the death of me! Why I was I smiling like an idiot? Oh you know, because it was too cute how happy they were and seeing Ella growing up made my heart ache!
If you love low angst, wonderful characters, and HEA’s, this is the book for you! I loved this one and will be rereading it very soon!
I really enjoy Finding Alexei by Kendall Ryan. This book was everything what I like to have in… romantic/relaxing books.
In the first place…. this book is quick to read. Since first pages I couldn’t put this book down. Alexei & Ryleigh take my whole attention, I didn’t even realize how fast I find “the end” in front of my eyes. I liked connection between this couple. Seeing how they reacting for each other makes this story more enjoyabale, huge plus for author, that I didn’t find there too much drama. The plot could be a little more elaborate, but it didn’t bother me. I still like this book as whole story.
Ry is young and proud woman, who knows exactly how to take care about herself. She knows what means hard work, without help other people. She knows how to be alone, and how lonley people can feel. I was happy that Alexei showed softer side of his personality, like real family man… what can I say…. he suprised me a lot with that. I liked that this big man has also bigger heart than himself. His character, as main male in this book, was very refreshing “thing”. I loved that he was gentle, but still know exactly what he wants…. step by step he won Ry’s heart. Let’s be honest… mine too.
I highly recomend this book for everyone, who likes to read good story, without too much drama, with man big like bear, who has one of the softest heart.
Absolutely must read!
I love Kendall Ryan’s light-hearted contemporary romances. They’re easy-to-read, engaging and fun, and I just seem to slip right into devour mode when I’ve got one on my Kindle. A sports romance with Ryan’s spin on the Pretty Woman vibe, Finding Alexei was an absolute pleasure to read. Capping off a series of connected but completely standalone romances, I enjoyed every single one of them, but Finding Alexei was my favorite of the bunch.
Gentle giant Alex Ivan is a pro-football player, and fans of Kendall Ryan will recall meeting this character in Dear Jane. He happened upon the heroine, Ryleigh, at just the right time, and from that point on, he couldn’t help but get involved in her spinning-out-of-control life. Make no mistake, though, Ryleigh was no damsel in distress—she was a fiercely independent woman, caught up in some hard times but trying her best to make it through on her own. She was put in an impossible position, but instead of turning her back on it, she stepped up and was doing the right thing.
Alex is such a good guy, and the scenes in this story with him and baby Ella were so sweet and endearing. But what made him stand out as a truly swoon-worthy hero were his private thoughts and internal dialogue where readers were privy to his developing feelings for Ryleigh and Ella. With fantastic chemistry right from the first moment, I loved how this couple worked as a team to care for Ella. When that chemistry that constantly crackled between them finally bubbled over into passion, their transition to a couple felt natural, genuine and right.
Finding Alexei was entertaining, charming, with plenty of heart-tugging moments. An effortlessly swoon-worthy hero and a feel-good love story combine to make this an unputdownable story that left me with a smile on my face, a blush on my cheeks and a full, happy heart. Finding Alexei by Kendall Ryan gets 4.5 smooches from me!

Kendall scored big with this heartwarming love story! Alexei “Alex” was the big, protective, linebacker bestfriend to Jane in the previous book Dear Jane and after meeting him then, I knew his book would definitely be one to remember. Alexei is a protector, taught to always treat women with respect and to help when in need, so what happens when he stumbles upon a gorgeous woman that NEEDS his help? He ends up with a beautiful houseguest and a baby. This book had me laughing, crying and swooning so freaking hard I never wanted it to end. This read quickly became a FAVORITE and one I would highly recommend!

Kendall Ryan is one of my automatic one-click authors and I was looking forward to Finding Alexei, however I was not expecting to absolutely devour this book! I read this in one day and I was drawn in the moment I started. This book had everything you want in a good romance -plenty of swoonworthy moments, plenty of heart and emotion and the chemistry between the two characters was off the charts!
Alexei Ivan is a star football player who would be a dream man to most! He’s got the athletic talent, the rocking body, not to mention his mama raised him right and he looks out for those around him whether he knows them or not. When Alexei comes across a woman being hassled on a street corner, he does what many wouldn’t and stops to offer help. When he learns what the woman is dealing with, he doesn’t even hesitate to offer her a ride home. What he doesn’t realize is how she’s going to turn his life upside down in the best ways possible.
Ryleigh is doing the best she can to make ends meet. She’s working in a less than stellar part of town and her apartment is also less than desirable. Couple that with the fact that her roommate not only up and left without paying rent, she also left her two month old daughter for Ryleigh to care for. To say that Ryleigh is in dire straights when Alexei comes across her on the street corner is a gross understatement. Can she really trust this too good to be true stranger?
As Alexei helps Ryleigh and little Ella out, it becomes more and more apparent that while they are all “playing house” there could be a lot more to it. Not only does Alexei know a thing or two about kids, the magnetic pull between he and Ryleigh is undeniable. Will Ryleigh be able to trust that Alexei is who he tells her he is and that he really does want them there? Or will her insecurities tear them apart before they have a chance to get going?
I’ve loved so many of Kendall Ryan’s books, but this definitely is up there as a contender for my favorite. The story flowed so effortlessly for me and I felt myself rooting for these characters from the outset. Such a fantastic story – do yourself a favor and pick it up!
I totally and utterly loved this book and it may just be one of my favourite Kendall Ryan books to date.
When Alexei spots a gorgeous girl being harassed outside a topless bar he decides to play the hero and intervene. He ends up driving Ryleigh home but along the way he learns she has a baby that isn’t actually hers and she can’t even afford diapers or formula. Being the gentleman he is Alexei decides to take Ryleigh and the baby to his after stopping along the way to get the stuff needed for the baby. On arrival at Ryleighs apartment he discovers she doesn’t even have any heating so manages to persuade Ryleigh to go home with him. Ryleigh had no idea though that Alexei is a superstar football player and even when she does find out she’s still not interested in his money and is reluctant to take his help. Neither of them realise though how much their lives are about to change forever.
Obviously there is a lot more to this story than I have recapped above but it’s one of those books where you really should go in blind because the originality of it will take you by surprise. Kendall Ryan has done a fantastic job when it came to plotting this one out. I was so looking forward to Alexei’s book and it certainly didn’t disappoint. I totally floved it and just couldn’t get enough. Alexei is witty, kind, considerate and of course don’t forget his hotness. Ryleigh is reserved and likes to be extremely independent and selfless especially when it comes to baby Ella. They are a match made in heaven even if it takes them a while to realise their path is destined to end in only one way. Kendall Ryan has certainly outdone herself with this one and I can’t wait to see what she writes next.

As usual Kendall Ryan has given us a fun, sexy and entertaining story!! But I have to say I think this might be one of my all time favorite books by Kendall.
Finding Alexei was a pure joy to read. I loved everything about it. She gave us an interesting twist on a single parent story, she gave us a swoony Hero, and she gave us all the romance we could want in a book!!!
Finding Alexei is a standalone novel told in Dual POV. It is a companion novel to Love Machine, Flirting With Forever and Dear Jane. No none of those books need to be read to fully enjoy Finding Alexei, but you do see other characters from those book in this story. These books can also be read in any order, but trust me you WILL want to read all of these books. This also has a little bit of a sports romance feel, because the Hero is a football player. But the football aspect doesn’t overpower the story at all. This is more about a chance meeting between two people from different walks of life, who end up hitting it off.
In this book we follow Alexei and Ryleigh. We met Alexei first in Dear Jane. He is a team mate of Weston’s. I fell in love with his character in that book, but he was so much more in this book!! Ryleigh is a woman who is down on her luck and a chance meeting with Alexei changes her life forever. I thought these two were a perfect match. And their chemistry is off the charts!!
This is a fairly quick read. But it is also a book that you can immerse yourself in. It won’t take more than a couple hours to read but it lacks for nothing. I dare you not to fall in love with this story and the characters we meet. I also loved how she wrapped up everyone’s story in the epilogue. What a perfect ending for all these couples.
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a sports themed book or a single parent romance. If you are a fan of Kendall Ryan you don’t want to miss this latest gem!!! If you have never read a book by Kendall, then this is the perfect place to start!!!
I loved this story! Alexei can’t help but be Ryleigh and Ella’s hero. This is a football series so we have hot men who dominate the field. Alexei was so laid back and easy with Ella. He deserves his HEA! This book gave all the feels!
Audio Review from Feb 2019
I really enjoyed this story. The baby brought them together and they found love along the way!!
I loved the epilogue and the line she spouted of “Knight in Football Armor”!!
And as always Jason Clarke and Erin Mallon knock it out of the park!
Gotta love a soft hearted man. He’s so sweet and loving. It’s romantic. But I think this story is missing a bunch of things. You know nothing about her back story. The blurb doesn’t really fit the story. And she goes from miss independent to allowing him to take care of her fast. Overall, it’s a good read. Just at face value.
This was a super sweet easy and quick read. Also well written. Great story, great characters, unique story line, but another romance in the bunch.
This is such a sweet story, and absolutely loved it. It’s a story where although it is kinda shitty how it all happened that it all worked out the way it should have story for the characters. I loved all the characters but Alex was easily my favorite. I think I needed just a little more, but I’m not sure what.
Steamy, dirty, easy read.
Alexei, a pro athlete, is bossy, moody and overprotective. He needs to focus on winning games and staying out of the headlines. Ryleigh is fiercely independent and does not think she needs a man. She never expected Alexei to be the one to jump in and save her, especially when her roommate disappears and leaves a baby with her. Ryleigh is clueless about babies, and it shows. Alexei has six nieces and nephews and a hero complex. He is sexy and capable. That combination makes it easy to forget that they are just playing house. – Alexei was like a knight in shining armor. He was kind, loving, dependable and, generous. Ryleigh was also caring and dependable. They were both soft-hearted and good together. This is a feel good, sweet romance.
Wonderful
Only for Tonight was a good read that I thought the author did a good job making light and airy considering the plot points were of a serious nature.
I mean, young girl taking on a huge responsibility when she can’t afford to take care of herself and then putting all her trust into a good-looking young man who “just wants to help”. There were several references to Pretty Woman in the book and that is very much the vibe you get. I’m not sure if the author meant it to be this way but you get a good little love story in a very dramatic setting that doesn’t seem all that dramatic.
It’s a very cute read but I only gave it 3 stars because I didn’t really feel there was anything remarkable about it. The beginning was a little slow and then the last half of the book was super speedy. The character development was okay, I didn’t feel like there was any missing information but you just didn’t really feel like you know the characters in real life, which I love when I read a book. The plot was good, but I felt like it was kind of basic in its trope.
If you love a Pretty Woman vibe than this is a good read. Something lite when you’re having a little reading slump would be a good opportunity for this read.
I loved it the hero was soooo sweet and a total He-Man but he let tge heroine do her thing wen it was not putting her in danger and tge way he accepted the baby i would give this book if i could.
Easy read but story is wonderful.
