The last thing she wants is more romance… my creative muse, all I’ve managed to do is hide from the other writers.
Now I have the chance to have the whole place to myself, no distractions, no excuses.
The catch?
The castle’s brooding caretaker just arrived on the ferry.
And he’s the living embodiment of masculinity and an inactive Marine.
Worse, he lives upstairs.
And after a frosty introduction, he’s made it clear not to bother him.
But after I hear him screaming in the night and accidentally see the scars on his back, how can I not?

I am really loving this series. What’s not to love? Tall dark broken scarred quiet macho guys who fall for sassy beautiful women. Luther had scars both internally and externally and wore them with contempt. He had been in the war and was badly tortured and lost someone special, which he feels so much guilt it narrows him.
Blaire has significant internal scars from childhood that she carries to this day. These two people are amazing characters and I enjoyed how much life and different facets Lexi had added to them. The story was fast paced, dramatic, even though for most of the story it’s just them, and if course steamy. A wonderful story and certainly the genre I go for. Well worth the read.
This was an ARC arms this is my honest review.
Excellent romance mixing intrigue and internal conflict
4.5
Very good story because nothing is simple: neither the characters, nor the places, nor the natural elements, nor the plot in addition to the quite hot romance. It is very well written, with a good construction of the psychology of characters ravaged by their past, but it is also very moving and often unpredictable.
Blaire is a future divorced writer, betrayed by her husband, who takes a few days to advance her book on an island, but nothing happens as she sees fit because of the noise and because of an author she hates who is also there. So, when the opportunity presents itself to her, (despite her crises of anxiety when she is alone), to stay on the estate with only one man coming to make repairs for the owners, she does not hesitate. This man is Luther, an ex-Marine who suffers from PTSD and is rather antisocial. Both are attracted but avoid each other. Yet the context forces them to discover themselves, with all the tearings they have that bring them together as much as they distance them. Added to this is a mystery that causes significant twists.

Lexi Hart has written an intriguing 5-star book that has the main characters Blaire and Luther dealing with things from their past. Blaire is dealing with a divorce that the tabloids will not leave alone. Luther is dealing with PTSD, being held captive and watching one of his best friends being killed.
Blaire is at a writers retreat and not having a good time, one of the other writers has something against her. On the day they were all to leave the Owner of the retreat asks her if she would like to stay over the weekend and she said yes. She is told that there would be a caretaker coming in on the ferry and it would only be the two of them there. Luther is not happy when he hears that someone else will be there with him. Blaire and Luther have an instant attraction to the other but don’t do anything about it. Things get heated between them and they give in. Something happens after Blaire leaves and Luther gets blamed for it. He is arrested and he has a friend come to help him out. Blaire gets a call from the owner of the retreat telling her that her husband is going after Luther and she needs Blaire’s help. It is a trap and Blaire knows it is her last moments alive but then she is saved by Luther.
Can Blaire forgive Luther for the way he has treated her from the start or will she stay single?
Can Luther get the help he needs for his PTSD and clear his name?
This book will have you from page one to the last with the betrayals, manipulation, and deceit from the other characters. You can feel for the things that Blaire and Luther are going through.
I would recommend this book to anyone.
I received an ARC of this book for my voluntarily and honest review.
Two broken people are able to inspire each other to heal and get better so that they can have their HEA together. Loved this story.
Like a soap opera. Ups and downs. Plots to frame and murder. I liked Luther despite his broody nature and tendencies to push people away. But he did it to protect others as he feels he is responsible for the death of a team mate on deployment. The ending was adorable.
This was a suspense adventure. Two characters with their own PTSD goin on. Both horrible in their own write make it Steamy and Interesting. Blaire a Writer of romance In on a writers retreat on an island with a castle. She is offered time in the castle while the owners leave for the weekend. The caretaker, Luther will be there doing maintenance. Easy right? Should be. But at night both Blaire and Luther have their own demons to face. Secret passages and hidden vision makes for an interesting read as the writer writes as the caretaker tinkers and cleans the pool. No cliffhanger.

Writing her own happy ending
One Wild Weekend with Luther is part of the “One Wild Weekend with” series and is the story of Luther and Blaire. They definitely have a very happy and satisfying weekend all alone at the Castle on Heart Island. But there is mystery, drama, suspense, explosions and of course a HEA as an ex-Marine with PSTD and a writer and soon to be divorcee struggle to stay away from each other but then finally decide to give in to the inevitable. It seems that Blaire will finally be able to write the HEA’s for her books after she writes her own with Luther.
I have purchased and read a number of the books from this series and Lexi Hart has again woven an exciting and romantic story with some wonderful characters and a lot of heat.
I received a copy of this book for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
An enthralling read that that pulled me in from page one. So much to look forward to in this book – a well-developed consistent plot, twists and turns, deception, drama, PTSD, witty banter, humour, suspense, and an emotional roller coaster. The characters are likeable; their chemistry is instant. The story is well written; it is a fast pace on the edge of your seat page turner that is very interesting and exciting. Definitely recommended!

This was definitely One Wild Weekend with Luther. Luther and Blaire weekend is filled with mystery, suspense, confusion, terror, safety and hot passion. Luther is an ex Marine who has been through more than his fare share, Blaire has seen things no one should. Because of their past, it makes their future hard to go through.
Luther does work off the books at the Castle on the weekends, Blaire had been attending a writers retreat and stayed over after it was over. At first meeting their was an instant attraction, but for Luther he could not be someone she would want, and Blaire was at the end of a divorce. The weekend was a constant battle of passion , no matter how hard they fought it, the pull was stronger. But this lead to discoveries and lead to more questions about the owners.
This story begins to take you on a right of twist and turns that leads to explosions, arrest, people not being who you thought. Emotions will be going up and down as you are at the edge of your seat to find out what happen next, both don’t think you won’t need a tissue or two because the ending still has me tearing up.
Another excellent story by Lexi Hart.

What a interesting story! It showed me how the characters goes through their stress and how they deal with it and then you have them being attractive to each other but trying to fight it. Also some unexpected drama which adds to this story! A must Read!

This book is part of a series – I think this is the 6th book. The storyline is about Luther (of course) and Blaire. Blaire’s is a writer going through a messy divorce. She comes to this remote castle with her friend. Her friend’s daughter got sick and can’t make it so Blaire goes to the castle to join the writer retreat group by herself. Even after week, Blaire is still behind so the castle owner offers her to stay for an extra weekend. The only downside is that Luther, the caretaker / former Marine, is the only other person there and he is not an easy person to get along with. There is definitely a big spark when they first meet, even though Luther acts quite rudely. I did enjoy the witty banter between the two. A decent story.

Luther works on the weekend at the castle. Taking care of the place. Doing some handyman work, off the books. Luther is ex marine, PTSD, and has trouble sleeping at night. Blaire is a writer who is staying at the castle to work on her book. Blaire is troubled by her past and also has trouble sleeping at night. These two are staying clear of each other because each having issues in the night. Can they help each other? Is there other things going on at the castle? There is family drama, danger, mystery, suspense and just encase you need more — there is hot, crazy passion, smoking hot, sexy sizzle. I love this author. She creates a great story. The characters are flawed but likable. The story is a page turner and well worth the read. Enjoy!

WOW. That perfectly describes this book. It is full of hot sexy man, intrigue, perseverance, and perfection. I fully recommend this book.
This is a good read. Blair’s is an author who’s currently going through a divorce, she attends a castle to spend time at an authors retreat where she meets handyman/caretaker former marine Luther. After the week Blair’s is still behind on her deadline so is told she can stay on for an extra week except she’ll be alone with the caretaker! Brilliant characters and an excellent storyline. I’d definitely recommend this book.

The best weekend to have with someone you can be close to. The chemistry is there. The connection is also there. Can this book get any better!

Blaire and Luther each have their own scars to deal with when they happen to meet. They’re not looking for each other nor do they want it, but sometimes what you need happens at just the right time. This was a great read about two people broken in their own way finding exactly what they need, even if they weren’t looking for it.
This is my first time reading anything by this author. I chose to read the book when the blurb caught my attention, and the book itself certainly didn’t disappoint me. I really enjoyed the plot and the characters who had great chemistry despite trying to ignore and avoid each other. Both characters have personal baggage that they are carrying around with them and so the plot is a bit of an emotional rollercoaster at times.

Blaire, who is going through a divorce, attended a writer’s conference at a castle but didn’t get much writing done during the week she was there. She is invited to stay through the weekend by the owners when everyone else leaves so that hopefully she can get some work done. Luther is the caretaker who comes on weekends to do odd jobs around the place. A former Marine suffering from PTSD, he’s not a very cheerful, social man. These two sad, hurting people are crazy attracted to each other although they try to fight that attraction. Throw in a mystery and you’ve got a great story. I look forward to reading more in the “Wild Weekend” series.

Blaire is at a writer’s retreat held in a castle hoping she’ll get some inspiration for her book. Being irritated with the other attendees, she stays mostly in her room and hasn’t written anything. At the end of the retreat, the owner seeing she hasn’t written anything offers Blaire the chance to stay and write at the castle for the weekend as only the caretaker Luther will be there. Luther is suffering from PTSD and closes himself off from everyone. Can Blaire help him open up? I enjoyed this romance. I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
With a divorce in progress, Blaire is spending time in a castle with other authors at Heart Island’s first-ever romance writers retreat, trying to get inspiration for her writing as her deadline quickly approaches. Instead, she is irritated again by the wild laughter of one of the women. She has spent the week hiding away from the other authors and she has not written one word. She was trying to pour her grief, shame and misery into creating happy endings to escape the mess her own life was in, and just only convinced her that she was a fraud.
Mary, the owner, comes in to announce the ferry is there to pick them up, and she asks about Blaire’s writing progress. When she admits to doing better with quiet, Mary tells her this weekend is for maintenance so she and her husband will be away and the grumpy caretaker, Luther, is the only other one who will be here. She invites Blaire to stay the weekend and write!
With the quiet, Blaire does get some writing done, but it’s unnerving too when it’s silent. She started to walk toward the pool area, but the lighting was low and a panic attack started to build up. Only when she spotted Luther coming out of the pool did she calm down enough and scurry back to her room. Luther went up to his room, but in the middle of the night, woke up with his shouting. The nightmares never left even though he was far away from Afghanistan. Then Blaire knocks on the door to see if he is okay.
The next morning, Blaire is up early and has made coffee. When she spots him, she offers a cup and he refuses. She tried to say they could both have meals together, but he wanted no part of it and left. By lunchtime, she made sandwiches and headed to the pool where he said he was working. Despite the unfriendly atmosphere, he did eat with her. When he was down in the pool to clean it, he asked her to turn on the water. But he had tightened it so that she could not release it and he grumbled as he came over to do it himself. Standing so close, she touched his chest and he pulled her in for a passionate kiss. Then suddenly he backed off saying he couldn’t do this, and he left her standing there. She knows he wanted her. Why did he stop? Can she get him to open up to her; can they share what stresses them and help each other heal? And can they deal together with the danger that is coming?
This was really interesting as the author lets us watch as Blaire tries to write and finds her story instead describing Luther. Both characters are under tremendous stress and are fighting their attraction. There is also something else neither are aware of that will put them in danger. Grab your copy and let yourself be carried along on their story!
