She wasn’t prepared for him to fix more than her house…
After my ex swindled me, my only chance at salvaging my life is to refurbish the house my aunt left to me.
With zero funds, and a bucketload of debt, my plan is to turn my new home into a romantic bed and breakfast.
When I called my father’s old friend to help with renovations, I didn’t expect a solid wall of muscle with intense green … expect a solid wall of muscle with intense green eyes to show up instead.
And now thanks to a blizzard, we’re trapped together.
We made a deal.
He fixes things.
I cook for him.
But he’s looking at me like I’m something he wants to fix.
And he’s burning hotter than the woodstove in my kitchen.
One overheard phone call, one scorching kiss, and I’m in deep trouble.
Carter is everything I need, but he’s too guarded, too secretive, and if I’m not careful, he could wreck the only chance I have to start over again…

When Brooke calls a handyman for help around the house, she isn’t prepared for the magnificence that is Carter. He’s so gorgeous it’s distracting and now a blizzard has him snowed in with her. One thing quickly leads to another and their chemistry is explosive, but life is complicated. Brooke has major problems thanks to her sleazy ex and Carter has a secret that could be a deal breaker, but when Brooke’s life takes a turn for the worse, Carter is there to help.
This is a short, steamy read with fun characters and just enough suspense. Great read.
Not sure where to start with this one. The editing is terrible and the story line is an unbelievable stretch. I’m willing to go with insta-love stories but these two knew each other about two minutes before they are already having sex. Zero character development and both characters are just too dumb for words. Definitely will not be reading any more books by this author.
It wasnt very believable. It was also very long and predictable. I skipped most of the middle and just read the end.
This story of Brooke and Carter is a solid 4.5 stars.
Brooke is left in debts by her ex Nate. He sold everything she owned, emptied her bank account and loaned money. Luckily she inherited a cabin from an aunt. Even without money she wants to start a B&B.
Carter works for a friend of Brooke’s dad and is sent to fix some things in the cabin. But……he has a few secrets.
I really liked this very well written story, just not Brooke. It would have been a 5 star rating, but I couldn’t really connect with her. She never stood up for herself and let Nate walk all over her. He threw all of his problems at her while he was the reason she got into this mess but she never yelled at him or even said anything to him. It got better towards the end though and I loved the ending.
I received an arc of this book and this is my voluntary and honest opinion.
Lexi Hart has written a book that has a few twist and turns alone with betrayal, strong emotions and the intense connections between the main characters.
Brook has left her husband after he cleaned out their accounts and took anything he could to sell, and left her broke. She moved to the house her Aunt Jane had left her and wants to turn it into a B&B but it needs alot of work. She has a repairman coming to fix a crck in the wall, it is Carter who shows up. There is a instant attraction between the two. As Carter works it starts to snow and then turns into a blizzard, he trys to leave but he don’t get far before he has to turn back and goes back to Brooks. The heat between them is so hot they can’t ignore it and they have the weekend.
Brook gets a call from her ex and he tells her he forgot about a loan he had and that she will need to come up with the money for it or he will be in trouble and so will she. Carter finds out who the ex got the money from and knows it is not good for Brook. He knows he has to go back home and see if he can do something to protect Brook without her knowing. Things do not go as he plans.
When Brook finds out who and what Carter is can she forgive him and embrace the feelings she has for him, or is she meant to be alone.
Will Carter be able to stop anyone from going after Brook to get the money that he ex owes and keep her safe or will it all be for nothing?
This book is a very interesting read and will have you reading until you finish. I would recommand it to anyone who likes a good love story.
I recieved this ARC for my vlountarity and honest review.
