Furious, but honour bound.
Edward finds himself furious, but honour bound to do the right thing and not long after finds himself married to a woman whom he doesn’t trust and knows nothing about. More to the point, he has no intention of trying to find out more.
Belle, however, is made of sterner stuff and refuses to be afraid of the angry man she married. Somehow, she determines to melt icy Lord Winterbourne’s frozen heart, and she’s prepared to be wicked to do it.
The sixth book of the acclaimed Rogues & Gentlemen historical romance series from Emma V Leech, the multi-award-winning Amazon Top 10 romance writer. Author of fan favourites such as Flaming June and Last Man in London, both listed in the 20 ‘Romance Reads You Can’t Miss’ in the Amazon Kindle Storyteller Awards 2018.
**** Warning: This book contains haughtiness of the highest degree, a smattering of mild swearing and after some time and effort, a small amount of graphic and descriptive sex scenes. We are at pains to point out, however, that this book – or series – is in no way verging on erotica ****
The Rogues & Gentlemen series can be enjoyed as stand-alone novels or as part of the wider series. If the full series appeals, the suggested – but by no means essential – reading order would be:
•Book 1: The Rogue
•Book 2: The Earl’s Temptation
•Book 3: Scandal’s Daughter
•Book 4: The Devil May Care
•Book 5: Nearly Ruining Mr Russell
•Book 6: One Wicked Winter
•Book 7: To Tame a Savage Heart
•Book 8: Persuading Patience
•Book 9: The Last Man in London
•Book 10: Flaming June
•Book 11: Charity and The Devil
•Book 12: A Slight Indiscretion
•Book 13: The Corinthian Duke
•Book 14: The Blackest of Hearts
•Book 15: Duke and Duplicity
Happy reading! And please do leave a review if you can – it would mean the world to hear what you enjoyed most about the book.

Really enjoyed this book – very creative plot with the power of love as a healing agent. Had recently read one of the prior books about Aubrey and Violette, so this was a fun follow-up!
Kept my attention and I could not figure out how it would end.
I loved this book. This author has become one of my favorites. I read one of the books in this series then immediately read all of the others available (16) and then started on another series and read all of those available. Very informative regarding time period and great vocabulary. I highly recommend it.
A man suffering from the effects of the horrors of war and a woman desperate to secure a future for her sister and herself meet at a Christmas house party. The question is, can they find solace in each other despite their initial negative impressions.
This is an amazing historical romance that captures your imagination and touches your heart. I thought the characters were well crafted, full of personality complete with strengths and foibles. The storyline was smooth and full of emotional drama. The narrative was told from both the point of view of both the main characters, allowing a glimpse into their inner thoughts, emotions and motivations. I especially enjoyed this book because: it went beyond just the initial romance, dealt with the realities of the class system, showed the effects of war on the human psyche, and the main characters did not live in a vacuum but rather amongst a group of wonderful supporting characters. I had not read the other books in this series but did not find that a problem. It can be read as a standalone but if you love excellent historical romances like I do, you will want to read more from this author.
my one of my favourites
A captivating story of a man broken mentally & emotionally by the horrors of war. Patience, love and comradeship return him from the fog of death to life. The author emerges the reader into so many shattered episodes which feel so real.
Emotions of fear and love struggling just to exist. Richly detailed and researched with tension and raw passion. There are just so many good things to say about this book. One to keep and re-read.
Loved it!
This was one of the most delightful books I’ve read in a long time. i laughed. I cried and I rejoiced with all the characters. Thank you.
This was a strong book showing how men of war come back different ways of handling their lives. On another hand you have Belle and her younger sister who is unfortunately under the charge of her aunt. Knowing they could be turned out at any time with no means to take care of themselves she makes a rash decision but it doesn’t quite turn out the way it was planned.
With that being said the book gets so intense by the strong willed young woman who is willing to to stand up to the ever scary, brooding Lord everyone seems to run away from. I absolutely love every character’s role in here as it sets the whole mindset for you to picture.
But in the end, will the Lord be able to be saved of his war demons and let Belle in or will her heart be shattered?
Was very different from most romantic books. Kept me wanting to keep reading! Very very unusual and a must read!
Well written. Finished reading in three days. Will read more by this author.
I enjoyed this story a lot. It shows how love can conquer a lot of problems if we allow it.
Such wonderful characters and such a poignant subject often overlooked. Ms Leech handled the difficult subject of shellschock or PTSD with such aplomb that you felt every moment with Belle and Eddie.
Edward & Belle are like Beauty and the Beast. Edward has severe PTSD and this is handled very well in the story. Very romantic read and a happy ending and quite the cliff hanger for the next book in the series as Crecy behaves very mysteriously throughout this book.
I thought this was a great story and I must say it’s a good thing Belinda is such a strong heroine because she needed to be, to get through to Edward. I enjoyed how their story evolved and it kept my interest from start to finish. Well done!
What a great story. I would have liked a chapter or two post HEA.
The characters and storyline are great. I received this as a freebie, in turn purchased the series.
Looking forward to my continued reading.
Thank you.
I liked this one…. I liked the characters, strong and a little richer than normal.
Liked it enough to start reading the entire series.
Enjoying every minute
I really enjoyed the story. Will definitely read the next book in series.
