I love this series of books!
This is an exciting, unusual shifter fantasy that goes beyond the norm.
Loved the story, hated to put the book down. Thoroughly enjoyed.
Great read
For wolf conversion fantasies this one brings hope and trust into the picture
This was a great start that led me to complete all three (Westin Pack, Collier Pack and ARC Shifters) series.
Well written, with a storyline that holds together throughout the book. Enjoyable characters, and a great love story. Can’t wait to read the next one.
greatbook
Great storytelling. Loved the characters. Would make a great movie.
One of the best paranormal books I’ve read!
Over the moon and howling for more!!! I can’t believe it took me so long to read this. I sacrificed sleep to finish it and enjoyed every page. The chemistry and careful restraint between Kelsey and Kyle was agonizingly satisfying and the fight scenes were crafted in a way that you felt present and understood their purpose without them being overly graphic or gory. Cole and the Westin siblings provided a healthy dose of comic relief and sibling antagonizing which added depth and heart to the story. The Westin family was so close-knit that they felt familiar by the end of it and I loved reading a story with a strong, healthy family unit. I loved Trettel’s writing style and ability to balance complex world-building with dimensional, engaging character development. This book rocked and I can’t wait to finish this series! If you like shifters and romance, this is a must read!!
I loved this book!!! It was such a good read even though it kept the plot twisting and you weren’t totally sure what would actually happen. I can’t wait for the next book in this series!!
Family is everything for this westin wolf pack shifters. So when a stranger lone she-wolf enters their territory everyone is on edge. Including Kyle, soon to be Alpha. They don’t understand why she hasn’t introduced herself or acknowledge the leaders and alphas by submitting. Her name is Kelsey and she’s been on the run since she was little girl. She is hiding big secretes than can destroy or kill her. Good thing Kyle doesn’t scared easy and as soon as he meets her he knows she is her one true mate. The story is told by Kelsey and Kyle and its super cool to experience both their feelings and actions. There’s a lot misunderstandings because Kelsey has trouble opening up about her past and what’s she’s running away from. She’s been alone for a long time as was taught to fear wolves. Nobody is telling the truth right away so it creates big doubts and confusion with our main leads but after they come clean it does help clear everything and become closer. Kelsey’s past catches up and is up to everyone on the westin pack to unite and fight for love and family. I loved this story so much! Their chemistry is beautiful and a lot of characters are introduced!! The biggest thing is how rare is to find “true mate”. So when this happens to our leads is crazy good! Swoon worthy scenes! HEA, no cliffhangers but definitely more stories with other characters who are crazy good in the same universe.
Wow! “One True Mate” is so phenomenal that I’d give it 6 stars if I could, that’s how blown away I am by this talented author! … A fan-freaking-tastic, unique must read that is well thought out with a refreshing & totally new take on shifters that kept me on the edge of my seat turning pages! … I never write spoilers, but the H/h were perfectly written with superb & witty dialogue, even tho it took a while for one of them to see the writing on the wall 😉 lol … All the characters were awesome- the good & the bad; great attention to detail with surprise twists & turns that were intriguing… The flow of the story developed beautifully at the right pace & I devoured this book- wanting to know more, yet not wanting it to end! 😮 … But I must confess I am now an addict 😮 An addict who’s been left craving for more & counting the days until my next fix—which will be the 2nd book coming in a couple months, but not soon enough for my liking 😉 lol … I highly recommend this to all fans of fiction & especially those who love paranormal, fantasy or romantic sci-fi like I do! I can’t wait for more and predict this author has a bright future!
I really liked how this wasn’t just your run of the mill shifter book, instead of girl meets boy shifter/they have loads of sex and fall in love/then end, we get so much more. Kelsey thinks she is a monster because of her past so doesn’t get close to anyone and has been a loner since she was 12. She finally finds a town where she feels at home and finally finds a job she loves, unfortunately for her CEO she works for is delicious so she makes sure she keeps things distant so he will never get close to her and find out her secret. Unbeknownst to her she isn’t a monster and there are others in town who could actually help her understand herself. The 2 year jump was unexpected and I felt too long a time for things to have stayed status quo especially how the rest of the pack felt as well as Kyle, but at least things started to really get moving along after that and I would have liked some steamy scenes instead of one minute they are in bed then they wake up the next morning. I actually really liked the characters with Kelsey being very strong and determined and times and then very sheltered from having no one for so long, Kyle trying to rein in his feelings even though from the beginning knowing how he felt about Kelsey and of course Kyle’s sisters and Cole. There was plenty of mystery, suspense, frustration and twists that kept me reading as well as some surprises I did not see coming. I can not wait to read the next book in the series to see what is install for Elise and Patrick!
I loved that this book defied my expectations. It’s twist and turns were new and different while still adding value to the storyline. I wasn’t sure if this was a too steamy office romance or a twisted mistaken identity, at first, but turns out it was neither and both. Kelsey and Kyle are some of the most lovable characters you’ll ever read, and the ensemble cast of the Westin Pack has me chomping at the bit for more. Julie Trettel has another hit series in her hands, one you don’t want to miss. Recommended for 17+ age, but your more mature YA will probably love it, too.
True mates who wait 2 years to claim
Mostly, it’s a really good book that didn’t feel nearly as long as the page numbers would indicate. Towards the beginning, there’s a 2-year time jump that would have been really nice if the chapter had said **two years later** by the chapter number instead of just 3-pages into the chapter finally telling the reader “I can’t believe it’s been two years”. I liked the premise, with the exception that all the other packs seem to know what’s going on in Westin pack. You’d think they’d keep some things to themselves. I enjoyed most of the secondary characters, and may have to see what’s going on in their love lives too.
**********Contains Spoilers**********
I really enjoyed this book. I read this book last year but never did a review but since I recently read ARC Shifters Series book 5 and 6 I decided to re-read the Westin World Universe books from the start again since I thoroughly enjoyed those stories as well. This was the first book I read by Julie Trettel and I wasn’t disappointed, I’d had this is my Kindle Library for about 2 years before I decided to read them and I wasn’t disappointed. Yes, these stories are way cleaner than all the other shifter books that I’ve read but I don’t mind that. I thought it was cool how Kyle and Kelsey felt the connection from their first meeting and Kyle knew straight away that Kelsey was his true mate but he thought she didn’t feel their connection but she’s hiding it because she’s had an extremely traumatic past, as she was there when both of her parents were k*lled by wolves, she was bitten by a wolf and he wolf surfaces extremely early at 12 years old and changes for the first time and due to living in the human world she thinks she’s a monster/werewolf and that she’s the only one but little does she know that the whole town of San Marco is full of shifters and is Westin Pack territory.
I found it strange that Kyle lasted 2 years pining after Kelsey without telling her, yes his wolf protected her/stalked her which I found odd since its totally against the usual Alpha stereotype. I liked that this book actually had the main characters form a relationship first and that their connection wasn’t all about s*x but I wouldn’t have minded a bit more. No insta-love in this book. The challenges were cool but completely horrible that true mates have to fight to the death for their right to mate, as if their true mate dies why would themselves let alone their wolf ever want another let alone the wolf that’s k*lled their true mate or they lose the will to live as the loss of their true mate once bonding has started was too much. I thought it was weird that in this world born Alpha she-wolves are k*lled off as they’re too powerful and too emotional being women folk to control their powers which is a crock of sh*t I just think it’s the fragile egos of the men that can’t handle someone more powerful than them let alone a women. I loved meeting all the Westin’s as they’re such a fun and loving family and can’t wait to read the rest of the series again. I’d definitely recommend this book, series, Westin World Universe books and author to everyone.
This is a slow paced shifter love story which settles mainly on the mate bonding process and the competition process for the soon-to-be alpha pack position.
I likes the characters, the pack dynamic and how the she-alpha powers were displayed.
It was also refreshing, that the female competitioners accepted very soon that they`ve lost (No evil bitch here).
A nice book about a lone wolf, who experienced a terrible tragedy at a young age and ended up in foster care. Moving around a lot, once she was an adult, she finally came to settle in a small town. Her whole life thinking she is a monster and hiding her wolf. Then she gets a job and works for Kyle, who she has no idea is also a wolf, as is the rest of his family.
The family she has become very close to. She also doesn’t know how much trouble she has caused, trespassing on other wolves territory. The pack is upset over the fact that she’s been let stay.
Soon all will find out why she was allowed to stay, but will they ever welcome her? What else might be going on? Read and find out. It’s a good story, full of family, bonds, pack rules, challenges and a short war. All worth reading about.
