When the truth hides beneath a layer of lies, it’s hard to decide what is more important: The truth that’s hidden from the eyes of the world, or the lies piled on top. As a Reaper, I never dreamed of what freedom would feel like. To be able to walk down the street without looking over my shoulder, or to even love a man. Or men… Gaining a chance at a new life feels like I’ve taken a deep … new life feels like I’ve taken a deep breath of fresh air for the first time ever, my head through the surface as I rejoice at my new living circumstances. Yet, tragedy has a way of dragging one back down, especially when your dream of happiness attempts to become a reality.
Mourning my loss is harder than I could have expected, and it leaves me wondering if freedom is truly worth it. I must decide to either fight for this chance at life or return to what I know as a Reaper of Beauty.
My roommates want the best for me, and before they’ll allow me to try returning to my old ways, they give me a glimpse of what love is. A taste that leads to a dangerous addiction.
The lies won’t end because the truth hasn’t been revealed, and with a new group of enemies after me, it’s time for me to continue the lying game and fight for the sake of remaining free.
Will I survive? Maybe not, but I guess I’ll die trying.
Let the game continue…One Thousand and Two.

*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.
Wow things are really getting good now! Xia has been asleep for quite some time dealing with the after effects of being injected with the serum. Once she wakes up things are still up in the air as they don’t really know what to expect and she still has to heal. The problem is that the others are still obsessed with getting the serum so they are hunting the guys using her as bait. This leads to some interesting situations to say the least. Amazing relationship building going on as they dive into some heavily emotional stuff. I cannot wait to see where this is going next after all the twists we got in this one. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.
This is the second book in the Reapers of Beauty series, which I read through Kindle Unlimited. I will warn you, there is another cliffie in this one. That said, I don’t think it was as unexpected or as big as the first one (that’s me). I saw the revelation at the end coming from partway through the book, so it doesn’t hit you like a ton of bricks like the end of the first book does. It’s still exciting, though, and I’m certainly looking forward to book 3 to see what comes of it. If you’re the type of reader who doesn’t like cliffhangers or prefers a complete series so you can binge, you’re likely still going to want to wait until the series is complete, or at least until book 3 is out to see how it develops.
As far as Xia and her guys go, there was certainly some unexpected moments, from a character development side. You get to see Xia on uncertain ground and how she deals with it; there’s also unexpected sides to Silas and Ace (especially Ace). Xander just annoyed me in this book. He’s sweet, sure, but he is also kind of a jerk. I have my theories about Dante, which I’m hoping will come out in book 3. From a plot point, I felt this book was a little slow, or at least slower than the first book. Some people might complain that Xia was moping, but she is also grieving, and that affects the pace of the book (not in a bad way). Where this book isn’t as action-packed as the first book, it definitely makes up for it in character and relationship development. For me, I feel like that means the book, naturally, isn’t going to fly by. That said, it doesn’t drag either; it moves at a good, steady pace. I will definitely be waiting for book 3 to see where this cliffie goes and to see if my theories are right.
Xia’s back and recovering from the events at the end of Book 1. This allows her to spends some quality – and steamy 🙂 – time with the guys. I liked that we get to learn more of Ace. Dr. Amy is awesome, and I can’t wait to see what happens in 1003 Lies!
Wow oh wow. I mean holy shmoly Unicorn Queen! Such a fantastic addition to Xia’s story. So much happens in this book. Xia is still recovering from the events in book 1, the guys and the now twins are trying to help. There are groups out to get the guys for the serum, but they want Xia as well. Dante ugggh I just can’t even with him right now , he is so disappointing. Although the new character that shows up makes it all worth it! So totally worth it. Yumo has done ruined me for other books at the moment with all these book hangovers. I love Ace, Silas, Xander and the new guy they are awesome and the new one is such a surprise, it was like Christmas morning. I can not wait to find out what is going to happen next. DANG SO SO GOOD!
Yumoyori Wilson has done it yet again and created another awesome masterpiece!
Because this book oh my freaking goodness this book was absolutely amazing, but that ending was brutal as heck!
Won’t know what happens next until next year and that makes me kinda sad that I gotta wait that long.
But this book was awesome which I have to say this series has become my favorite so far out of Yumoyori’s books.
So yes I most definitely do recommend this book to anyone who’s searching for a fantastic story to get completely lost within.
But fair warning if you haven’t read the first book then I highly suggest that you do otherwise you will get confused as to who’s who and what’s what.
