From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Tricia O’Malley.
Tequila Key is just like any other small town and I’m just like any other small town psychic. Scratch that. Tequila Key is a world onto itself and some people might think that I am one crayon short of the box.
And, if we’re being totally honest, Tequila Key is just like any other small town – if that town boasts a voodoo … honest, Tequila Key is just like any other small town – if that town boasts a voodoo priestess and a few white witches for flavor. Turquoise blue water and the best margaritas this side of Mexico make it hard to leave.
I’m Althea Rose, co-owner of Luna Rose Potions & Tarot Shop, and I’ve just stumbled into a love triangle while trying to save my best friend from being accused of murder.
See? Just like any other small town.

One Tequila is the first book in the Althea Rose series by Tricia O’Malley. Althea (Thea) Rose is a psychic in the town of Tequila Key. She’s doing a reading for a local businessman when she pulls the death card. Her best friend Luna is arrested for a murder she didn’t commit. The sheriff in town is a major pain. Two really great guys express more than a passing interest in Thea. All in all an enjoyable read.
I’ve started and stopped more books than I can count during this weird time of social distancing, but this book was just what I needed to break out of the slump. Short enough to read in an afternoon, delightful friendships, psychic shops, tarot readings, a sunny, salty setting… what’s not to like? Recommended for anyone looking for a fun romp.
This was a fast paced and FUN read. I love the characters and Hank. (smile)
I am looking forward to continuing to read this series.
A combination of friendship, romance (gone wrong,) adventure and possibilities!
Luna and Althea are best friends and business partners. Each has her own special talents.
The book is populated by HOT men, dangerous in their own ways.
Sometimes danger is in those you think you know and trust.
I really enjoyed this story and the fun and exciting break it allowed me.
Even though I am not much interested in “magical stuff” I love this mystery. Althea and Luna are so different but complementing each other so well. There was a lot going on and I couldn’t stop reading…I was hooked. Can’t wait to read more in this series.
I love this series so much!

I am so impressed with this first book of this series. The author just pulled me in and I couldn’t stop reading until the end of the book. I found it exciting and fun; loving every second of it!! Now I get to read the next book!!
The ending not good
Nice light read. Enjoyable!
One Tequila is a fun paranormal story that’s about half mystery and half romance. This story primarily follows a tarot reading psychic and her best friend, a white witch, who share a business together.
Everything is going along fine – friendships, new romances, business opportunities… until a body is discovered. It’s clear to Althea that there’s a murderer in her small town of Tequila Key, and she wants to get to the bottom of it.
By content, it’s mostly a cozy – though I’d say it’s possibly a little edgier because there are some minor descriptions of a dead body and some lusting after characters. Either way, there’s no on-page sex and I don’t remember any graphic cursing.
It’s a fairly good read, nothing fancy or fabulous, just a good read.
This is a great series!
I had such fun reading this and have already downloaded more in the series
Funny, likeable characters. Just paranormal enough to add interest, but not so paranormal that the paranormal aspect takes over the story. Good mystery. I’ll read the rest of the series for sure!
I really enjoyed this book and it was an easy read that keep me entertained. Towards the end I thought I knew who did it but wasn’t sure. I will be reading more.
It’s a woman story where psychics and witches. Not my style
Fun light read. Memorable characters and just plain enjoyable.
great read…
Althea Rose is a psychic living on Tequila Key in the Florida keys. She shares a shop with Luna, a white witch. Along with Beau, who ons Lucky’s Bar, the three best friends are happy with their lives. Althea also does underwater photography while diving with Trace. Things start to change when two groups of investors come to town. Cash leads the group that is trying to help Beau get a new restaurant established. Renaldo is with the group called S & L. At the beginning of the story, Althea has a sense of impending disaster that is reinforced by warnings from her mother and a local woman named Elva. This book is fast paced and unpredictable, especially after Luna is arrested for murder. Althea’s life is complicated by romances with Trace and Cash. Great book!
Don’t we all want not one but two hunks drooling over us as we find a dead body and try to solve a murder? Fun magical elements, gay best friend and dog are both adorable.
Great if you have ever been to the Keys! And you are hooked to keep reading onto the next one!!!!
Just like any small town, yeah right. My small town doesn’t have psychics, voodoo ladies, or white witches–at least I don’t think it does!
