Zoe had a bad day. OK screw that her day went from bad, to sucking balls, to amazing, to an epic fubar all in one night. Sucking it up doesn’t help when she not only finds out who he is but gets caught up in a murder. I love the way this author spins a story and in this case kept it pretty clean on the graphic details of intimate moments which to me makes it so much better. While this two are pure chemistry and passion there’s a great story here and a great supporting cast. With plenty of twist and interconnecting cases it’s high energy and intrigue with plenty of action. Zoe is a pistol and full of fire, one who will not back down from a fight especially with Dee and Rina by her side. With plenty of laugh out loud moments your emotions will definitely have a workout with this standalone read.
Started out promising… then didn’t deliver. I found the way the characters interacted with each other to be mostly high school-ish. Prime example, I have a hard time believing that throwing a pencil at each other would become a habit between two detectives. And why would Zeke do such a quick 180 in his thoughts on relationships it would make your head spin, then be so insecure constantly? Don’t even get me started on how badly I disliked Dee and her one-word way of describing all men… Decent plot line, but the story and characters didn’t live up enough for me to continue with this series.
3.5 stars.
Took me a while to warm up to Zoe and Zeke. I enjoyed all the secondary characters. Intriguing homicide interwoven through the romance.
Good story, funny and page turner. Good plot!
Good read
Loved this book. Love the characters.
Zoe was just put down by her previous boyfriend. She’s trying to get her self confidence back. Zeke is the person we all dream about. You’ll need to wait till the end to pull all the threads of the story together. It gives you plenty of time to figure out the mystery.
I totally loved this book! I was hooked from the first page. I was drawn in by the suspense, chemistry, and crazy banter between Zeke and Zoe. There is so much miscommunication between these two that I found myself wanting to shake them and tell them to talk to each other. However, they soon realized what they were doing and started communicating. The suspense of who done it had me guessing until the very end. Let’s just say it wasn’t whom I expected. I’m looking forward to learning more about all the characters in the next book.

I couldn’t finish it was like reading the confessions of two bipolar ppl who go from a one night stand under the assumption that she’s a prostitute and he’s an undercover officer trying to catch her in the act. Yet he sleeps with her. Uh okay! They see each other again after he gravely insulted her then forgiving him and thinking of him like a dog in heat. The male lead takes this bipolar edition to a whole new level by yelling saying she’s the one and getting mad because ppl interrupt him when he’s speaking like a petulant child. The End ! I could care less if they catch the bad guy. The only characters I liked were Riña and Dee, the heroine’s coworkers and best friends because at least they were consistent.
Great beach read.
Enjoyable!
Loved this book – original characters that, while the 3 heroines are very different from each other, the way they interact and support each other is inspirational. Loved the hero also. He is very realistic and believeable. Plot had some great twists. As soon as I finished reading this one, I immediately ordered the next two books in the series!
This started of with a bang, but then had to slow down and set more of a scene and develop the characters before the plot developed again and it picked up
I liked the premise but the writing and jokes got a bit repetitive.
Great! Hard to put down.
I found myself laughing at how uncoordinated and uncouth some men can be when the think with wrong head
Romantic, funny, thriller
I love this book. I was laughing at the humor throughout the book and wishing to find a man like Zeke. It’s very good
Just not for me
A romance with mystery in it. A very well written story. Not to long but long enough.
Liked it.
